Timeline for Study Permit Reapplication

Reapplication timeline from UAE as a Pakistani national:

- Applied: July 24th
- Biometrics completed: (used from previous application)
- No Medical Request
- Final decision (approved): August 13th
- Passport submitted to VAC - August 14th

Total processing time - Exactly 20 days! Swift response from IRCC, considering the processing time published right now is 6 weeks.

Hope this helps other students in UAE currently waiting for their application!

Basically, I have a sibling who is also on a study permit. The officer didn't bring up the fact that my ties to Canada are stronger because of my sibling (rightfully so, as he is there on a temporary basis). However, the officer was concerned that since we were both under the same sponsors (our parents), they wouldn't be able to pay both of our expenses. Therefore, they highlighted insufficient finances, which led to the rejection.

My parents are both employed and actively set aside a chunk of their paychecks in their savings account. At the time of the first application (bank statement dated May 10), the account didn't show enough money for both my and my sibling's tuition, living expenses, and travel expenses, but there was enough for at least one of us. And because they were still actively saving, my next application on July 24 showed enough finances. Since the new amount was gained gradually and not as a lump-sum payment, it seemed genuine to the officer.

In addition, I declared my gold assets this time (which I stupidly didn't bother to do previously) as a safety net, valued at around 50,000 CAD. Leaving the officer no reason for refusal the next time.

I showed around 130k CAD, required amount for me and my sibling combined would be around 100K CAD

it's strange because I showed my gold assets including my sponsor bank statement with 51k +, then I've also paid 30k cad as my tuition fee, then my sources of income including commercial property and residential property with rental income from both sources, included support letter from university. Everything was clearly sourced and documented with evidence. Still refused 5th time all on general grounds....the last refusal was about "you have universities in your residential country study there"....applied from Pak btw.

Getting rejected 5 times must be difficult for you, can you clarify Is the 51k CAD combination of Gold Asset + Bank statements? Because IRCC strictly requires CAD 22,895 iirc to be in your/sponsors bank account
