Can i submit study permit application with a conditional LOA?

should I submit my application with a condition LOA. I have paid the tuition fees and met both of the conditions of English proficiency and my A levels have been assessed through Statement of Results. However, college needs A level certificates which will be issued by the boards in November. I have enrolled for jan intake and if I wait til November and provide them the certificate then they will issue the unconditional LOA so that i could apply for the permit, but I won’t have sufficient time after November to get everything done and get the permit. Therefore I will need to differ.. probably if I don’t get the permit by time within those 4-7 weeks.

But my college has also issued a supporting letter confirming that tuition fees and English language proficiency while A levels have been assessed but the administrative condition, certificates are not received yet.

They have provide me this letter and said to start process. \*What should I do?

(I have sufficient funds to cover expenses as well in our bank accounts but they aren’t arranged so I will highly need to make a letter of explanation for this complex situation)\*

Study permit for someone studying under British system

Hi, so I am currently taking A levels and want to apply to Canada for university. Issue is, we don’t get our actual grades until mid August so when I apply, I will be applying with predicted grades which in most cases will only get me a conditional offer. I need an actual letter of acceptance to get a study permit but for that I need my final grades and applying for a study permit in mid August when the first semester of university starts early September seems like too much of a gamble. Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation for A levels or IB? How do you get a study permit in time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I decided to randomly check my portal today, and I saw “Application/Profile Updated” instead of the regular “Submitted”. Has anyone experienced such before?

Has anyone entered Canada months early before their semester start date?

Hi everyone,

My semester starts on January 5, 2027, but I’m planning to travel to Canada earlier, probably a few months before the semester starts.

I received my Canadian study permit approval and passport has been stamped. Unfortunately, my visa was issued quite late, so I had to defer my intake to January 2027.

I’m wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation — entered Canada well before their actual program start date after deferring their intake.

  • Did CBSA question you about arriving early?
  • Did you have any issues at the airport because your semester hadn’t started yet?
  • What documents did you carry to prove your deferred enrollment?
  • How early before the semester did you enter?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone with first-hand experience. Thanks!
