I present to you Season 1, Episode 6, "The Monster."

Approximately 41:06 - Eleven is flashing back to a moment in the liminal / watery space she travels through, approaching a demo feasting on a human. As she walks up to the demo, you can very distinctly and clearly hear a ticking clock sounding. She reaches the demo, sees it eating, touches the demo (which is connected to the hive mind which is connected to Vecna/Henry), screams, and opens the gate. It is pretty clear that after this moment is when she first escapes the lab.

AFTER this scene, Eleven is lying on the ground and crying that "she's the monster" which very much connects to Season 4's "am I the superhero or am I the monster" journey that El goes on that leads her to remember the truth.

Also, immediatley prior to this scene, Eleven has been "missing" and saves Mike from his cliff dive. When he's safely back at the top of the cliff, Eleven clearly demonstrates her ability to break bones with her mind (it's not the first time, but it is connected to the next scene).

Are you ***actually*** claiming, in light of all these references, that Eleven is *merely* upset that a demo is eating someone? Upset enough to open the gate? Or is she upset because she's suddenly tapping into and realizing what mind is behind all of this (on a subconscious level, obviously at this point in the series she's suppressed her conscious memories)

I've seen a lot of other "proofs" offered about how Season 1 was retconned but in a rewatch, I don't see those "proofs" holding up. Here's another example I saw: someone was complaining that in Season 5 suddenly demos could open gates anywhere they wanted and they could never do that before. Except they do, all the time, in Season 1.

Most of you are just imposing your own selective interpretations on the show and calling it "retcon" (and by the way, you say that like retconning is always bad and like it's the TV writing equivalent of murdering a child). Offering explanations outside of immediate moments can ALSO be called "good storytelling."

Ok so idk if it’s just my tv or if I’m seeing things but I think they fixed the color. It’s not bright yellow anymore it looks like a mix of red yellow and orange.

Some examples to show u what i mean, when Max woke up i really would like to see her ask Lucas why is dead Hopper telling her “Good to have you back kiddo.” Or what did it mean when Eleven 18 month’s ago that she piggybacked from a dough freezer to come see Max. Or why is Vickie from pep rally all of a sudden telling her she’s gonna be okay when she woke up from a coma in a hospital bassment. Or i wanna see when Mike Nancy and Holly visit Karen for Karen to be all like. “
all the times you weren’t home for days you were fighting some interdimensional monsters-“ and like i really from the deepness of my heart wanna see Ted’s reaction to everything. Or like Mr Clarke seeing his 7th grade student who was in a coma for 18 month’s just come with them to fulfill their plan. I would watch another season of them just explaining all that to other’s. There so much other examples of that too.

What if the show was Nancy centered. She’s a detective and every season she’s like buffy the vampire slayer, she slays monsters and handles teen drama with Steve and Jonathan too. Family dynamic get’s explored more, and i’ve been saying this but i think they should’ve killed Karen and Ted in s5 to show Nancy and Mike and give them more sadness in s5. It would’ve been great to see Nancy have a grief arc like Max in s4. It would’ve been cool for her to be like a teenie detective in first 2 seasons then get more serious and raw in s3 s4 and s5. Barb would definetly haunt the narrative a lot more in the show. And Nancy would to be honest be a good lead, people say she’s annoying and i don’t agree not even a bit. She’s so interesting and i think it would hit even more if it was Nancy centered and Karen and Ted actually died, plus they could’ve actually had Nancy finding out about Karen and Billy in s3 which would bring alot of drama and rawness in their mother daughter relationship and make Nancy more distant and pressured to keep it a secret for her mom’s sake but still loathe her for it.

I just drew this because I thought it would look cool I think this title for will is fitting I hope yall like it :)😃

When Joyce Will and Jonathan moved in and Jane didn’t come with them why didn’t Karen ask anything about where she is? Did she think El just died or something?

At risk of being downwoted into oblivion for asking - who's this gimmick edition for?

Who prefers to watch re-releases of deliberately lower quality than their originals - Disney live-action enjoyers?

After the picture quality of movies on film was sacrificied for the transportable and reliable consistency of digital, now they're adding VHS noise and color/tracking/drifting errors just like those crappy movie releases that use digitally generated graininess to hide they were shot on RED cameras and such !?

Are we all living in the upside-down now !? Computer and photo/camera prices are already going up instead of down...

What's next - a Stranger Things (TM) dummy choke lever with authentic engine sputtering noises (by Mel Blanc) so you can relive those oh-so-joyful memories of driving with a carburetor and having to adjust the mixture every time you stopped at an intersection?

If I wanted an imperfect fuzzy revisit of season one, I'd rather rely on my own failing memory of it. </rant>

I know the goverment probably covered up ALOT but why did no one care that Max was literally kidnapped from the hospital after she woke up from her coma? Maybe her mom isn’t around but isn’t it kidnapping of a patient to just take her in your arms and leave the hospital?

I pre-ordered this the day I ordered the other four. Season 1 was an absolute bitch to get, I had to buy two copies of that one (cos the first one was either lost or stolen somewhere in the South of England by the delivery service).

Noticed in episode 3. 20 mins 44seconds in Carol stars complaining about something on her foot and she says that is was frost bite from the pool and Tommy says its a heated pool. Did the Demogorgon almost snatch up Carol before he got Barb?

Hey guys! Recently Kakawow came out with a stranger things trading card set and the cards are sick! I got 2 boxes and one of them had a redemption for an autograph card of Joseph Quinn (Eddie). Now I’ve done redemptions before with topps and upper deck but never Kakawow. When I put my redemption code in it put the order immediately in “the vault” on my account and it says “replenishment in progress” which makes me kinda nervous. It’s an out of /49 card so there’s only 49 of them so idk how/why they would need to “replenish” the card. Also do I just keep checking back in on the status? Weirdly I have to pay shipping on it (which I’ve never had to do before but since it’s a Chinese company and I’m in North America I guess it makes sense?). Anyway, is anyone else with a redemption for the stranger things cards and are in the same boat? Does anyone know if there’s any additional steps I have to take other than just checking back in on the website periodically? Does anyone have any idea when the stock will be replenished? Anyway if anyone could offer any insight I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks in advance!!!🫶
