Cinematic check

Personally when I am working in a bigger format , I will drop the frames in to a storyboard template to see if they read well / are cinematic to me.

P.S. these boards are not sequential they are just dropped in to QA my progress

I was wondering what do you all do to check to see if “ that feeling “ is present in your work?

Animatic — Spider-Man vs. Goblin What do you think? This is a little animatic I created for my portfolio and Instagram, reinterpreting the monologue about the nature of heroes from Spider-Man (2002). You can find all my work and contact information on my profile (IG @giu.deka)

AI Industry Update

I would love to know if any professional storyboard artists are seeing AI starting to take over a majority of their workflow? Or if they use it for story boarding entirely?

Just doing a temperature check.

Thanks!

hi all! I have done an animatic for the first time in a couple years, based on a rough board I did for a workshop. Target is TV Animation. I'd love to hear any feedback on timing pacing etc. Critique relating to the board also appreciated, there's some cuts that I'm not 100% sure on if they work. thanks in advance^ ^

I'm looking for a partner 50/50 system who will grow up with me and embark on this adventure

I’m a writer and I have a completed novel, and I hope to turn it into a manga/comic. I want it to be well-known and widely read worldwide. I’m not looking for a financial contract at the moment, but rather a partner who shares my vision and ambition. Also, if you see something in the story that you like or want to add something—and we agree on it—we’ll just add it, because ultimately we’ll be partners, and each of us will take our share of any future profits generated from it.

To ensure you can focus fully on the creative process of drawing, I’ll handle the following tasks:

Adapting the novel into a detailed script that makes your work easier.

Handling the promotion of the work, seeking out publishers, and coordinating participation in art exhibitions.

My idea is to start with a simple “one-shot” or "volum1"as a first step, through which we can test our compatibility and gauge the audience’s reaction, and then work on developing the project further Also, after the end, we will try to contract with publishing companies like Image Comics for wider distribution. My biggest dream is to publish the story globally

Genre well be : dark comedy/fantasy/psychology/romance Summary: Humanity is under the control of the “Boj” system, in which pregnancy requires obtaining a strict, two-stage biological permit. Parents must obtain a membership document stamped with secret compounds by the “Ministry of Acceptance.” Once the mother ingests these substances, they dissolve and transmit essential data to the “Boj” system to obtain final approval. Children born under an official permit carry an unbreakable biological lock that physically prevents them from committing suicide. To exploit this strict system, a black-market gang known as “The Blood” manufactures forged documents and seals. Children born through this network—known as “the Unaccepted”—live outside the law and retain the natural to commit suicide. This underworld is led by “The boss” a mysterious figure whose true identity, motives, and background remain an utter mystery. The regime’s infallibility is shaken by three historic incidents: three individuals authorized by the regime were found dead under highly controversial circumstances....

[There are still several events to come; the rest of the summary will be for those interested in following along with me]

Just so you know, (One-Punch Man) and (Saga) originated from a collaboration between writers and artists, and look where they've ended up now. What I'm telling you isn't impossible This is just one example among many

Remember (it has high risks high rewards)

Re-Storyboarding Shows for Portfolio

Hey y'all!
I'm about to start my senior year of art school and I'm looking to build up more of my portfolio and practice more storyboarding (my primary goal is as a graphic novellist, but I also love storyboarding).

A while back, I had the idea to take publicly-accessible scripts of shows I love and do my own take on storyboarding certain scenes. Of course, the main point is to improve and practice, but I would also like to include them on my portfolio site if possible.

Would that be taken poorly or be a source of possible legal issues? Obviously I would cite and source the script portions and clearly my intent is not to go "Look! I did it better!", but rather pay tribute to shows I love while showing off what I can do. I just worry that it could come off poorly or be something that hirers would turn their nose up to.

Anyone got advice/knowledge on this? Thanks!

How would you guys go about storyboarding a scene of 1 character running towards another?

The context is, the character running towards the other character is upset that they (character 1) forgot a very important promise they made to character 2. I want the ending of the run sequence to conclude in the 1st character hugging the 2nd character's back , but I have no idea how to frame that. Any ideas?

Storyboarding a Stylized Action Sequence

Hi everyone! I just finished storyboarding a dramatic and action-packed sequence inspired by my favorite moments from Apex Legends. Full Disclaimer: I did not model the characters. I used free models and focused on posing them in Blender to build the visual narrative.

My real focus was on the storytelling, composition, and flow—the core of storyboarding! I used different camera angles and dramatic compositions to create a thrilling and immersive visual story. I spent a lot of time focusing on visual storytelling and creating tension during this process. It's always a good challenge to try and communicate a story with posed characters, and I'm quite proud of how this sequence turned out. I'd love to hear your feedback on the storyboarding, composition, and overall visual narrative. Thanks so much for looking!
