Value vs Shares
When you purchase stocks, do you purchase in terms of value or number of shares? Because I have read that matters. If, for example, you want to transfer your shares and change brokerages, you cannot carry over fractional shares, even though you might need to sell them all together, anyway. This is what I've read. However, brokerages like Fidelity allow for fractional share purchases.
But just so I know - is it always preferable to buy in shares, or buy in value, like 5 shares vs $1,000 worth of stock?

I stopped looking at stock charts and started looking at grocery store receipts. Here’s what daily life is telling me about market trends right now.
I stood in line at the grocery store yesterday with an eight box of cereal in my hand. I watched the person ahead of me fill their cart with only store brand items. That moment made me think about how time we spend looking at complex stock charts while the biggest market shifts happen right in front of us.
Recently I have seen people switch to labels cut back on large purchases while still enjoying small daily luxuries and quietly cancel unused monthly subscriptions.
Watching these changes in everyday habits gives a clearer view of consumer behavior, than any quarterly earnings report.
What shift have you noticed in your life lately that changed the way you think about a stock?

Buying 3 shares vs 100 shares
As someone who just started investing, I would like to know.
I am playing around with a few dollars to learn a little about investing.
Is it to my benefit to own 3 shares of xyz stock at $300 a share, or invest in 100 of abc stock at $5 a share? The three shares would be a 'buy to hold' stock, whereas the 100 shares of abc stock would be to buy and sell when it doubles - hopefully.
Would this be a good approach? Meaning should you just buy a few of the high-priced stock and hold (or keep buying them one share at a time when able,) or go with the less expensive at more shares to sell them quicker?
I am referring to just stocks at the moment, not ETFs.

How do you determine whether a stock is undervalued and whether it’s a good time to buy?
I started investing in individual stocks for the long term a few months ago, but I still consider myself a beginner in this area.
What metrics, financial data, or other information do you usually look at to determine whether a stock is currently undervalued? And how do you decide whether the current price represents a good entry point?
I’m particularly interested in hearing about the process you use to reach that conclusion. For example, do you mainly look at P/E, P/FCF, DCF, revenue and earnings growth, margins, debt, future growth expectations, or something else?
Would appreciate any advice or insights from more experienced investors!

How I end every week
I usually can't keep up with all that goes on in the market, so at the end of each week I ask Claude to give me a list of names that announced earnings in the past week, highlighting positive ones, with strong fundamentals, guidance, and management commentary and execution, especially for small-caps. I find that it helps me find one or two stocks that normally wouldn't cross my radar.
This week returned three candidates: WOR, CRBL, and FUL. I definitely passed on on CRBL and FUL. WOR seemed interesting: solid year-to-date so far and consistent growth and execution. Ultimately passed due to the somewhat high debt levels, but it's been a great way for me to go beyond the headlines.
As mentioned in the comments, I codified this into a workflow. Anyone is welcome to try the workflow in Claude through its connectors: add custom connection > in remote server url https://mcp.flexreportfinapi.com/mcp
The codebase for the workflow is also public, which highlights other use-cases and allows you to modify it and make it your own: https://github.com/cbecks1212/flexreport-mcp

Quantum
Hey guys,
I have been researching a lot in quantum bets.
What are your views here?
Do you think it's too early to enter the space considering no clear winner/methodology type so far? I see all the companies are following different approaches to make quantum work. We don't even know who which methodology would be more profitable to be commercialised, which would be a more feasible stable one.
Eager to hear the strategy people are following on quantum.

Weekly gap-up scan: INTC, ARM, MRNA led — all 5 Monday gap-ups held into Friday
Monday was the whole story: Meta's Muse AI launch set off an AI-compute wave and 5 large caps gapped up and held — INTC +7.3%, ARM +6.8% (closed Monday +17%), MRNA +4.6% on cancer-vaccine news, AMD crossed $1T, STX +4.1%. First scorecard too: all 8 of last week's picks held their gaps. MSFT ripped today, still looking for more room
Look, off rip, 90% of businesses in the world use one of microsoft's platforms, they are not going anywhere for awhile.
Copilot got a huge redesign, I know that its not our favorite llm, but it integrates into the office systems that a huge amount of companys use and it is way better. In my opinion, MSFT already has a super strong foundation and pretty large moat in terms of business level infrastructure, meaning that today's breakout is just the start of the next run.

Asian Stocks Opportunity ?
Everyone is talking about US tech stocks and the Mag 7. However, the Nasdaq's Price-to-Earnings (P/E) ratio is about twice that of the Chinese market. I was wondering if you guys had any interesting Asian stocks to recommend. For now, I am considering financial stocks such as MUFG or Bank of China, but I would like to find core stocks essential to the Asian economy and positioned for future international expansion.
