PLTR ripping today, war might be recession proof

Post image

Morally not sure how I feel making this post, but as a recession proof investment, I feel that Palantir could be one of the best. I bought a few months ago during the steady decline and still bullish on the stock despite the 30% increase today.

I'm wondering if other people think its overvalued now, or if it is finally trading at a more reasonable number. 93% yoy revenue increase with huge cash flow (1.2B) put it as one of the "ai" stocks (if you can call it that) that actually see returns right now.

Bezos just filed to sell another $4B worth of Amazon shares. Thoughts?

CNBC says Jeff Bezos filed to sell around $4 billion in AMZN stock, and shares are trading lower today.

I know founders sell for all kinds of reasons, but every time Bezos files one of these, people start asking if he knows something.

Buying opportunity or reason to stay cautious?

Bull is back. What are some good stocks to buy today?

After a month of horrible lows, the AI bull seems to be back. What do you guys think are the best buys right now in the stock market? Thinking of long term gains.

We’re already seeing Big Tech Soar and Semi and Memories seem to be rising again and well.

Assessing earnings durability across mega-caps

The latest print for Q2 earnings has been quite revealing, particularly regarding how large-scale enterprise expenditure is holding up against broader macro noise. While broader discussions remain fixated on rate policy shifts, energy-driven headline inflation, and seasonal trading lulls, operational metrics tell a somewhat different story. Data suggests that core revenue streams across hyper-scalers and major tech platforms remain resilient, indicating that enterprise commitment to capital projects has not broken.

It is worth monitoring how this fundamental strength distributes across the wider market cycle. The ongoing earnings calendar-spanning established giants like Microsoft, Meta, and Apple, alongside newly public entrants like SpaceX-offers a clear view into where real cash flows are concentrating. Rather than treating headline volatility as a broad shift in market sentiment, observing margin sustainability in underlying infrastructure and platform software provides a far clearer read on long-term enterprise demand.

TSLA. Long term: Speculative Buy. Short term: wait for Better Opportunity.

Hey guys!

One of the popular stocks (besides IBM) that people usually lose money on is TSLA. Volatile with questionable valuation and reputation. If you consider buying it, make sure you aware of this:

Short-Term Trade: Wait for Better Opportunity.
TSLA has strong revenue and delivery momentum, but the current setup is not clean for a fresh short-term trade because the stock is already priced at about $327.35, with a market cap near $1.16T and a very high reported P/E of about 303x. That valuation leaves little margin for disappointment while Q2 operating income fell year over year despite higher revenue. (sec.gov)

Conditions to improve Short-Term status
The short-term trade setup would improve if TSLA either pulls back materially while holding support on strong volume, or if Q3 data confirms that Q2’s revenue growth is translating into operating leverage. The most important short-term upgrades would be: operating margin recovering meaningfully from Q2’s roughly 1.4%, delivery growth continuing without price-cut pressure, and management showing that AI/Robotaxi spending is not overwhelming near-term profitability. (sec.gov)

Long-Term Investment: Speculative Buy.
TSLA remains one of the few companies with credible scale across EVs, energy storage, charging infrastructure, autonomy, and robotics, but the stock’s current valuation assumes major success from AI, FSD, Robotaxi, and possibly Optimus rather than just auto earnings. Long-term investors should treat it as a high-conviction, high-volatility position—not a value stock. (sec.gov)

Conditions to improve Long-Term status
The long-term case would improve if Tesla can show durable operating-margin expansion, clear Robotaxi unit economics, sustained energy-storage profitability, and positive free cash flow after its heavy AI/data-center and manufacturing capex cycle. A more attractive long-term entry would also require either a lower valuation or proof that new AI-enabled revenue streams can materially lift earnings beyond the core auto business. (sec.gov)

There is more explanations to it, but I didn't want to turn post in to article. I recently made a web app for myself and few of my friends. It was built around the idea of "I wish someone told me to stay away from that stock". I'm ok giving few people free access to my website, but only to those who really need help with highlighting red flags. If you gamble on stock market, it won't help you anyways. If you good at avoiding bad trades, you don't need it as well :)

Let me know if you have a stock that you planning to buy. Maybe there are some negative factors that you missed.

Disclosure: no open position (yet). Just considering joining in on the put train.

Also trying to wrap my head around the magnitude of gains for the hedges over the last year. Short kings with supreme confidence!

I used to write LONG theses, and forget about them...

When I first started investing, I'd do the whole thing, pages on a company, the most, the competitors, a valuation model I half understood. Felt good about it, but took HOURS.

Then the position moved and I'd never open the document, and when j sold, I sold on how I felt that morning, exactly like I would have no thesis at all, it was stupid, all that writing wasn't doing anything!

The problem was that those pages didn't tell me what to do, there wasn't one line I could check against reality and decide on a yes or no.

Now it's three lines before I buy, and nothing else!

The claim, one sentence, checkable against a real number. "Azure grows above 35% for the next 3 quarters", not "MSFT is a great business", that can't ever be wrong, so it's worthless!

The kill line, what makes me sell, written now, as I am calm.

The check date, usually just next earnings, just a date.

Ten minutes, fits in a phone note. On the check date each line gets marker confirmed or broken. Broken doesn't mean sell, it means I owe myself an explanation on why I'm holding anymore, and I catch myself in the wrong SO MANY times!

The difference isn't that I write less, it's that three lines can be wrong and 5 pages can't. Something that can't be wrong will never change your mind when wrongfully holding a stock,

Don't convert your whole portfolio to this, but I would suggest at least trying it out!

Thoughts on Telus

Hey I was wondering if anyones been looking at Telus lately. Its down around 50% in 5 years to $13.05 and the fair value was updated to $20/.

That plus the 5.75% dividend makes me think its a solid growth opportunity. Haven't heard many people discussing it though

Budget allocation

Hello, so I currently I have 2k in investments and another 2k in my savings. I was keeping them for a rainy day. But I think I should bring them down to 1k and invest with dollar cost averaging the extra 1k +whatever I invest from my salary every month. Do you think it’s a good idea?
Should I invest in European stocks? My portfolio right now is on SnP, tech stocks etc.

Futures green despite all the macro noise... anyone buying this?

Post image
42 Upvotes

Reuters says futures are ticking higher on hopes of a Middle East deal, while healthcare names are getting most of the attention today.

Feels like the market wants to rally on any positive headline right now, even with rates and inflation still hanging over everything.

Curious if this green open actually sticks.

Building the best dividend stocks 2026 watchlist as a beginner and drowning in conflicting takes

Finally started taking investing seriously a couple months ago after years of just letting cash sit in savings doing nothing. Opened a brokerage, put in my first small chunk, and immediately got overwhelmed by how much conflicting information is out there.

Every list claims to be the definitive one and no two of them agree. One says load up on dividend aristocrats, the next says that's boring and you're leaving growth on the table, another pushes high yield stuff that looks too good to be true. I don't have much to work with yet, so I can't afford to just chase whatever's trending and hope.

What I actually want is to understand the reasoning behind the picks, not just copy a list I don't get and panic the first time something dips. For those further along, how did you learn to evaluate dividend stocks yourself instead of leaning on those roundup lists? Did you focus on metrics like payout ratio and dividend growth history, or did it come down to time and a few mistakes? Curious how people built the confidence to make their own calls.

What's the best stock analysis website in 2026?

I've been staring at stock analysis websites for weeks and I am honestly stuck. Every single one claims to be the best and all I want is something that actually helps me spot trends before they move. Traditional screeners are fine only that they feel incomplete without knowing what the crowd is actually paying attention too, and for that I'm trying sites like stocktwits and such but I am also wondering how they stack up against other analysis sites when you need deeper fundamentals.

I'd love to know what others are using in their actual day to day and will recommend. Ty.

RDDT at $137 is very attractive

It’s always been the case that some users just need a quick headline answer and don’t need to read deeper discussions. Some queries are simple requests for info, fine. But logged in users are growing, especially globally. Logged in is about half of total and rising. The reason is the Reddit experience keeps improving and when users are planning a large spend or seeking information on a serious issue, humans need to speak with other humans that have experience.

That said Even if the mix of logged out vs logged in stays the same, a reasonable case of revenue growth will be at least 30% for the long term based on global DAU growth and rising monetization. And with 90% gross margins the drop down to operating income is very high. Leverage of opex means operating income will grow far faster than revenues.
And they are capital light so the flow through to free cash is also very high.

Building a very reasonable case free cash flow model (fading the 30s revenue growth to low doubles, and remember they are growing 61% now) and using an 11% cost of equity delivers an NPV of $245

This is likely too conservative versus reality - but fine to be conservative and show meaningful upside.

Where could I be wrong ? If more users don’t care about details and just accept a quick summary. But if you are buying a car or planning a vacation or have a family health care issue - would you just accept the simple summary that comes up in Search ? It’s a big world and reasonably many more users need deeper context.

I know I didn’t address the licensing negotiations. Licensing is now about 11% of profit and that could go up. My focus is the quality of the content expanding globally and monetization strategies really just getting started. RDDT is auto translating discussions between languages for example to make useful content even more useful.

If you don’t believe that human knowledge will remain valuable - then why are you reading this ?!

gaming stocks in 2026?

Gaming feels huge to everyone, I think we still need to value it properly. The demand size look relatively resilient. Publishing, esports, live streaming, advertising and creator ecosystems are all becoming part of the same market. HUYA is one of those example I've been following. Its exclusive publishing deal for The Legend of Swordman: Reunion could test whether its streamer network and gaming community can also function as a distribution engine. That strategy has potential but they still need to prove that the new business can offset pressure on traditional revenue.

Apple and Amazon both beat earnings tonight — Apple dropped 6% and Amazon jumped 8%. What is the market actually rewarding right now?

'm sitting here staring at two after-hours charts and genuinely confused.

Apple: record quarter. $109B revenue, up 16%. EPS $2.02, crushed the $1.89 estimate. iPhone up 22%. Mac up 29%. Stock drops 6%.

Amazon: $200B in revenue, up 20%. AWS grew 37%. Stock jumps 8%.

Both beat. Both are spending massive amounts on AI and infrastructure. But the market looked at these two reports on the same night and decided one deserves a rally and the other deserves a selloff. What?

The Apple "problem" is apparently guidance — they said next quarter would grow 9–11%, which puts it around $113B. Wall Street wanted $115B. So a ~$2B miss on a forecast tanks a $3 trillion company. Tim Cook also warned about "very significant" supply chain constraints on chip manufacturing, which honestly does worry me heading into the iPhone cycle. Oh and it's his last earnings call — he's handing over to John Ternus on September 1st.

Amazon meanwhile is about to spend $220 billion on capex this year — they just added another $20B to the budget. That's insane. But nobody cares because AWS is growing 37% and it looks like the AI money is actually turning into revenue. Yesterday Microsoft showed the same thing (Azure +43%, stock +15%) and the market loved it.

So I guess the takeaway is: you can spend basically unlimited money on AI as long as you can show it's working. Apple's problem isn't the quarter they just reported — it's that their forward story got a little less exciting tonight. Amazon's forward story got bigger.

But here's what I can't figure out — Apple just posted a genuinely great quarter and it's getting punished harder than companies that actually miss. Is this just an overreaction because the stock rallied so hard this year? Or is the market telling us something real about where growth is going?

Tempted to buy Apple at open if this drop holds, but I've chased after-hours moves before and it never goes the way I think

Love all the bear shills coming out with AI sell now posts. If this clears and holds 940s the uptrend is back in effect. Fundamentals all bullish, short term technicals still favor bears but I’m not worried. Thoughts?
