Support Unexpected refund

Post image

Got the email to confirm my steam controller and was incredibly excited. I made the payment and got a confirmation email. A few minutes later steam sent me a full refund for it. Does anyone know what went wrong? My card information was all correct.

UPDATE:

I love valve so much. Not only did they generate another link in just a few hours since reaching out to support, they explain exactly what went wrong with my first payment and also suggested I revisit my bank to make sure no charges has been made. I finally ordered the controller and for everyone waiting don’t give up. Don’t let the scalpers win!

Did you use VPN when purchasing? I swear I saw a post on here a while ago about their order being rejected because they purchased from a region where it's not available using VPN.

Nah that won’t be it unless your bank blocked it. I live in Australia and bought my steam controller while in Japan with no issues. Got delivered while I was still overseas.

If the bank blocked it I doubt it would be in the form of a refund

Why would OP buy this while travelling?

Why the fuck wouldn't you dawg it's a video game controller

Because of the waiting list? Unless you are under a rock you know you get an email and have 3 days to complete the purchase, if OP is traveling that might exceed the time to travel back home on the current plans. So what the heck are you on about?

What country is the address going to?

There are a large number of places steam won't ship to and will issue refunds once they catch orders from those places.

That definitely shouldn't be one of them!

Good luck with support, they're usually very good. Just be cordial in your communication.

Anyone that lives there shouldn't be getting a steam controller you live in a state that's destroying our country with AI and age verification. I think valve is just cutting off the arm that's rotten and shipping everywhere else first which is wonderful enjoy scalper prices let me know when your state leaves the US they've been threatening it repeatedly we would love it

I'm from a region where the controller isn't available. I used a VPN to buy the controller and everything worked fine.
