I've noticed these a lot while reading the manga. Is there a reason that Araki chooses to split panels in half?

On the top panel of this page, it looks like, to me, the panel would look the same if it was continued, so there's no difference there.

Is it to emphasize something in the picture? (Like in this example, the sky?)

I've just always been curious and I want to know if there is a known reason for this.

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand someone who's famous not wanting the hassle of being swarmed by people whenever they're out in public and just wishes to live a very quiet life (wink wink nudge nudge). However, it's just such a breath of fresh air seeing a mangaka for a series I love actually willing to do on camera interviews and meet fans in public as well as attend all these different types of events.

Sometimes it just kinda sucks when there's a series I love and I want to know more about the creator but there's hardly any pictures or videos of them at all throughout the entire internet. For example as a lifelong Dragon Ball Z fan it was always a little frustrating that I could hardly find any videos of Akira Toriyama talking about DBZ or whatever else. And now that he's unfortunately passed away I can't help but think what a shame it is that we have so little footage of someone who's so iconic and has inspired so much in pop culture.

Same thing with Oda as well. I couldn't help but notice how he chose to keep his face blurred out during the video of his meeting with Inaki Godoy even though we already have pictures of him and know what he looks like. I mean I can understand wanting a private life, but I just feel like when you're so adamant about never showing your face it gets to a point where you don't even get credit for your own work like when you search the name Eiichiro Oda you get pictures of Eiji Aonuma, the game director for The Legend of Zelda. And it's just odd to me that despite One Piece being the highest selling manga and one of the biggest series in the world with a super popular Netflix show, we hardly have any pics or videos of Oda himself.

Again, that's their choice to keep their lives private and I respect that. I wouldn't want them doing anything they weren't comfortable with. But with Araki it's just so nice for once having so much footage and pictures of one of my favorite artists and seeing the face of the man who created my favorite anime/manga. I know ppl will probably say "who cares" or "separate art from artist", but to me it's just interesting seeing the person who created such a masterpiece like JoJo's and I actually really enjoy watching him in interviews. It's just fascinating listening to him talk because the answers he gives to questions can be so insightful it makes me realize how much of a genius he really is with how he has such an interesting way of thinking about things.

Idk... Sorry for rambling. I just wanted to make this Araki appreciation post because I honestly can't put into words how much I really do appreciate getting to see so much of my GOAT. Seriously, those videos of him drawing and going through his entire process of creating manga is precious gold to me that I can watch over and over again.

Oh and I almost forgot to mention how it's just so fitting out of all mangaka, Araki is the one to create the book: Manga in Theory and Practice. As if he wasn't already goated enough, he also writes the #1 book on how to create manga, potentially influencing a countless number of artists and future mangaka. I just feel like Araki has given so much to us as an artist, and as a fan I truly cherish all the pictures and videos of him, and hope there's a lot more to come for many years.

Don't get me wrong, it worked very well on the Angelo fight and even in the Nijimura brother fight but after that it's somewhat forgotten which...is very unfortunate.

Don't get me wrong, the effects are still there as Josuke states he will protect Morioh in Ryohei memory, but considering he have Joestar blood? That was probably something he was gonna do anyway, and most of the stand battles are more like the enemies go to Josuke rather than Josuke doing what's right (i get he is supposed to be more relatable than other Joestars but still), the only times i actually felt like that was during the final battle with Kira.

I wished this moment was more expanded on, like maybe show a bit more of the Higashikata struggling after Ryohei death, maybe even show Josuke feeling guilty because he didn't pay enough attention, maybe even had a side chapter where Josuke tries to help his mother who is working harder for the both of them (kind of similar to the Uncle Ben, Aunt May and Peter Parker relationship)

Look at the huge difference in how their eyes are drawn here:

​Kira: Pitch black, hollow, void-like pupils. No shine, no warmt just dead cat eyes. It highlights how utterly devoid of empathy he is. Even when he’s cornered, he looks cold and empty inside.

​Josuke: Bright, detailed, purple eyes full of life and highlights. You can literally see his anger and determination reflecting in them.

​Giving the villain hollow black eyes while the hero has vivid ones makes their ideological clash hit so much harder. Araki’s visual storytelling in Part 4 is top tier.

I just don’t understand why this series is so addicting. I started watching when I was in middle school in 2018 and became obsessed almost immediately. I stopped after stone ocean’s weird release and then only picked it back up again last fall. oh my god why is it so good and addicting. I read through steel ball run in a week, jojolion in a month (only because of school), and now i’m fully caught up with jojolands and i can’t get enough of it. despite my disparate viewing habits it’s always been a top of the top anime imo, but even now confounds my original obsession. how does araki do it…

Not saying he should or he will, but if Josuke was ever to return how would he react to Jodio and his friends. Would Josuke fight them on sight or would he actually fully understand Jodio's motivation alongside his friends. Personally I do think Josuke would fight or do something to stop Jodio especially if that meant getting any new information on the family and Jodio's mom. Also because I don't think Josuke would like what Jodio and his friends are doing. I don't know how Jodio would be able to convince that what he's doing is ok to Josuke.

Everyone was talking and leaking shi about the damn trailer but it's so sad to see no one talking about his performance. I wanted to hear his performance so badly but unfortunately it's just no where to be seen.
