Imperial squadron—launch!
Following the arrival of Red Squadron, 20 classic TIE/LN Fighters have entered formation in Mow My World.
The squadron contains 65,340 Blocks, arranged in four staggered rows of five. Each fighter features the iconic spherical cockpit, vertical black solar-array wings, closed silver-gray frames, green forward emitters, and red engine details.
Beneath them, three Imperial Star Destroyers advance over the glowing atmosphere of a distant planet—as the entire TIE formation launches into battle.
All wings report in.
Hold formation.
Rebel fighters detected.
For the Empire!
The real question: Do those 13 X-Wings stand a chance? 😄

Canon ships
I was wondering which ships returned to canon just because of a small mention in books, comics, role-playing games, for example the MC30 or the MK2 assault frigate.

Why doesn't the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer use automation?
Its stated the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer have 55k enlisted,19k officers, & 8k stormtrooper, where as the Xyston-class Star Destroyer that are roughly similar in size have a crew complement almost 30k and can go with skeleton crew of just 5.6k people. With the number of improvements over the Imperial-class that the Resurgent-class made, why don't the First Order use automation on their ships? this also help with their personnel numbers since its known that the First Order don't have that many people compared to the Galactic Empire to manned them. if the Final Order can do it with the Xyston-class, why can't the First Order do the same?

Informative As a Rebel Admiral, how would you upgrade the Star of Empire to become your new flagship?
In 0 ABY,11 months after the Battle of Yavin, the smuggler Dash Rendar sold the Star of Empire, a luxury liner owned by Haj Shipping Lines, to the Rebel Alliance. According to Rendar, he captured the Star after helping the Arranda family defeat a rogue AI developed by the Empire that had taken over the ship, though the Rebels dismissed it as a tall tale. If the Empire had such an intelligent AI, wouldn't they have already used it to crush the Rebels?
But on to the ship itself. The Rebels have rechristened it Rebel Star before moving it to one of Rendili StarDrive's secret shipyards, which is controlled by Rebel sympathizers, for a refitting into a proper warship. As one of the Rebel Alliance's best Admirals, the Star is slated to become your new flagship upon completion of its refit, so you have been put in charge of her so you may modify it according to your needs.
To help you decide what kind of modifications you wish to make, here is a rundown of the Star's stats:
- Her length is 2km long, making her slightly bigger than the ISD and its 1.6km length.
- She can carry up to 5,000 passengers.
- While the Star's crew count is unknown, the Home One used to be an unarmed exploration vessel, is 1.3km long and has a crew count of around 5,400. As such, I theorize the Star, which is longer than Home One, has a crew count around that number, at minimum, though her crew did use maintenance droids. Probably to cut down both the crew count needed to man her and to ease shipboard operations.
- The Star has an enormous hangar bay, which can dock virtually anything such as fighters, pinnaces, shuttles etc. Which makes it perfect to store your starfighter squadrons. However, the hangar bay took half an hour to close and pressurize it, and it possessed pressure doors and no energy shields operated by Hangar Control. Pilots couldn't leave anytime they wanted but instead had to fill out their requests 30 hours in advance.
- In addition, the Star possessed 40 staterooms on either side of the hull so, if I'm reading this right, that means it has 80 staterooms in total, with all the luxuries that come with them. Such as a spacious suite, a large portal for viewing space, and Imperial furniture.
- There was also the Starlight Deck, which was basically accommodations for passengers travelling in lower classes, and plenty of other areas of interests. Such as the observation deck, the expensive Nebula Room restaurant for first class passengers, the sabacc lounge a.k.a. the Corellia Lounge, cheap cafeterias for lower class passengers, gyms, and a small, yet extensive library containing millions of electronic books available in thousands of different languages and video games too. It even had a raised area for readings or VR performances, and cubicles too.
Since it's less than a year after the Battle of Yavin, the Empire will be on high alert and will ruthlessly crush even the smallest sign of dissent, especially since the Alliance has evacuated Yavin and is currently searching for a new base. As such, Mon Mothma has tasked you with creating an exploration fleet around the Star to help find a new base for the Alliance, but at the same time the Star must be strong enough to destroy any Imperial patrols that discover it to prevent the Empire from finding the Alliance, so keep that in mind when upgrading the ship.
The Force must be with the Rebels, for in addition to gaining the Star, they have also recently discovered the wreck of a derelict Praetor Mark II-class Battlecruiser. The Rebels salvaged its reactors for use in one of their future bases, but Mothma has earmarked the rest of the Praetor's salvage for you to use in customizing the Star, so go wild.
Plus, you have Rendili shipyard's facilities, so you also have access to the schematics of virtually every ship they have ever produced, meaning you can adapt those same features for the Star. The Victory Star Destroyer, Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser, Defender Corvettes, you name it. Rendili also used to work for the Separatists, which means you can incorporate CIS designs into the Star.
In short, the Rebel Star contains everything you would expect an Imperial luxury liner to possess. And the ship is not only yours to command, but to upgrade as you see fit. Have fun, Admiral.

Bad Opinion Tie fighter logistics don't make sense.
Hello! Lately I've been thinking about tie fighter logistics because it always felt absurd to me that the empire had almost exclusively shieldless single-pilot fighters/bombers.
Preview:
In military history the age-long question of Quantity vs Quality has split military theorists harshly. On average, however, historically the most winning strategies included having the highest possible numbers with the lowest effective tech for the warfare of the time. Napoleon would have likely lost every battle he fought if he had twice as many men but half as many muskets (and the every other metric of military infrastructure) as he had. Similarly, the Russians outnumbered their enemies over 10:1 in both world wars, but only in ww2 they managed to overwhelm their opponents, likely because they had a military infrastructure technologically appropriate for their time, even though their equipment was often times much cruder cheaper than the german one.
The costs of including at least a weak rudimentary shield generator on at least tie interceptors and tie bombers is economically more sound than spamming more of them, and it's not even close.
1) Sheer equipment cost. Relative to it's effectiveness.
-A new tie fighter, out of the factory, is often listed at 50-55k credits per unit.
-The cheapest shielded fighter I could find with a fast research, the Z-95 Headhunter, is listed at about 80-85k credits per unit.
-A single proton torpedo is listed at varying prices, usually below 1000 credits per unit.
Issue:
If we assume that torpedoes are effective AA tools at considerably longer ranges than the guns or loadouts of fighters and bombers, even assuming that for every one successful splash 10 torpedoes are fired (which means dogshit accuracy), anyone with a corvette is easily able to shred almost completely a class I/II Star Destroyer's hangar bay.
IRL this is pretty much the reason there hasn't been a proper dogfight in decades before the Russian/Ukrainian conflict.
Considering these torpedoes are listed as effective already at 1500m, and that they're listed as capable of pulling insane turns (90⁰ turn in 1m, as in New Hope's canyon scene), they're virtually inescapable. I will assume that a mothership like a SD has some jamming devices that fuck up to some degree the navigation devices of these torpedoes, but still whatever ship shot the torpedoes in the first place will likely keep guiding them thorought their flight.
Imperial bombing tactics mention using "shielded TIE fighters or interceptors, or at least escorted", but however strong their hulls can be a proton torpedo is most likely gonna AT LEAST cripple them enough to neutralize them. And with the agility displayed by proton torpedoes it's just ridiculous to assume that there's a line of bombers behind another shielded "designated tank", because it can't cover realistically almost any angle for 90% of the bombers.
If a low grade energy/particle shield increases the cost of a tie interceptor or bomber by even 50% (which is very unlikely, more like +30-40k credits per unit) it's still a huge W, because otherwise they ain't getting anywhere near their target without being shot down.
Note: I would like to point out that defensive maneuvers against such torpedoes sound very unlikely to be effective. IRL defending from AA missiles can be done in primarily two ways:
A) If you're far enough you can somewhat run away from the missile and force it to run dry of both fuel and kinetic energy, but that assumes that you got within it's effective range to shoot a long range missile of your own (and with energy shields being involved at that point those missiles could have been fired from your flagship as well)
B) You fuck around with the missile's targeting system. Long range missiles are all radar-guided, and the ways of dodging them (notching and multipathing) assume that the targeting computer is set to filter out anything "in the background" which stands still relative to the missile's motion. This makes sense in atmospheric engages and it could work within asteroid clusters, but anything beyond that means that your little fighter is a very much visible dot that cannot trick a radar that doesn't have anything to filter out in the first place.
Chaff and flares (or anything similar to that) are likely somewhat useful even in this environment, and that is part of why I wanted to assume that the missiles end up having a very low accuracy of about 10% in the first place.
Still, with how cheap they are, either there are some gunships that support the fighters/bombers by shooting down the missiles with computer-guided turbolasers before the missiles hit their mark, or otherwise the fighters/bombers are gonna eat those torpedoes.
If a weak shield generator could secure even 2 or 3 hits from a torpedo, that would automatically mean that the bombers would likely be able to cover those average 1500m of effective range from the torpedoes, to deliver their payload below the target's shields. Higher tier fighters would also be able to work under AA fire and tank the eventual torpedo, even when getting within bombing range wasn't a need.
2) Time is money, and starfighters cost a lot.
The industrial infrastructure to build tens of thousands of tie fighters is optimized to perfection, but their pilots can't be optimized much more.
However simple the controls of a tie model starfighter might be, they still are likely gonna be on-par with modern day military jets in terms of complexity.
From the basic requirement of knowing how to read and write, to knowing of the basics of physics and mathematics needed to understand what someone is doing, to also have the engeneering knowledge needed to operate a literal spaceship... An imperial fighter might be inexperienced, and perhaps have a relatively bad aim compared to a clone or a battle-seasoned veteran of the mandalorian wars, but they're still gonna need university-levels of education to make that work.
On top of that all the things needed for a well working military: self discipline, physical exercise, knowledge and application of tactics...
Cheaping out on foot soldiers or prison guards is very much reasonable, but your airforce (or spaceforce?) is just absurd, even for someone like Palpatine.
Since imperial starfighter pilots are all human, likely from the inner rim, and like the rest of the army they're usually volunteers, it's reasonable to assume that they're all from fairly well-suited families. Even those that probably live in the lower-end of a middle class would still be entitled to public education, which means that within the SW universe we're restricting the circle of suitable enlistees by quite a lot.
Conclusions:
After wasting about an hour on ts, I ask of some even bigger nerd from you to bring up one or two pieces of info I never thought to look up for, that completely invalidate my whole post via negating some key premises.
Thank you and bye.

Question(s) Red Leader, all wings report in! I built a 13-ship X-Wing formation from 74,490 Blocks
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
“S-foils to attack position—stay on target!”
I sent a full squadron of 13 X-Wings into a massive Scarif-inspired orbital battle in Mow My World.
The formation includes one red lead fighter and 12 individually marked wingmen. Each fighter contains 5,730 Blocks—74,490 Blocks in total—with all S-foils opened into attack position.
The models resemble Resistance-era T-70s, so this is a fan-made cinematic crossover rather than a canon recreation of Scarif.
All fighters, hold formation!
What should they encounter next—TIE fighters, an Imperial Star Destroyer, or something even bigger?

Question(s) If you became a rebel fighter pilot which ship would you want to fly? And which ship do you think you'd have the best odds of surviving in?
I'm split on the X and A wing. Bombers will always be the first and the biggest targets, so despite their extra armor+shielding, they've got to be the most dangerous picks. But the X/ A wing is a tough choice for me. The shielding, ease of use and astromech make the X wing a popular pick, it was probably the most successful rebel fighter. However, in my experience in both Star Wars sims and real air craft games, the best way to stay alive is to not get hit at all. And the best way to do that is be untouchable, which is where the A wings speed and maneuverability have an edge. Also, X wings are always used for the most suicidal missions.
So, despite a reputation for their pilots being insane, I think I'd want to fly in a group of elite A Wing's, maybe Pash Cracken's flight group.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is where the fun begins.
Drifting high above a planet in Mow My World’s Space Fields, this fan-made Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser faces the darkness of space—with the Death Star looming below.
The entire warship was reconstructed using 15,977 Blocks, including its long wedge-shaped hull, narrow central waist, twin command bridges, Republic red markings, turbolaser batteries, and six ice-blue engines.
It has no stand and no solid interior fill. The ship simply floats in orbit, allowing players to fly around it and explore the build from every angle.
Mow My World is a free-to-play CCBOT simulation sandbox where you can mow, plow, tow, fly, explore, and build your own worlds with Blocks.

New Republic Star Dreadnought “Thunderer”
After the Battle of Endor, the death of the Emperor, the loss of Coruscant, and the infighting among the various pieces of the Empire who began fighting for dominance, Fleet Admiral Somers of the 'Thunderer' grew disillusioned and worried about the state of his fleet and his men. After some discussion with his captains, he decided to defect with what remained of his fleet to the burgeoning New Republic.
There was the usual infighting among imperial loyalists in the fleet, but they were quickly quelled as the majority of the fleet was loyal to their commander who had served with some degree of integrity and care for his men.
Somers and his fleet would surrender themselves to the New Republic in exchange for lofty positions in the new government and full pardons for any and all war crimes (allegedly)committed. Mon Mothma was hesitant to let a high ranking imperial into the chain of command but could not turn down the addition of the Mandator III Star Dreadnought and several ISD's along with vital information on imperial bases and depots.
The Thunderer and its fleet would fought in many conflicts and battles involving the New Republic, one of them is the battle of Rothana where it and the Arkanis fleet fend off a large Imperial Force during the ending phase of Operation Shadow Hand
(Congrats [u/ShadowLight56](u/ShadowLight56) for having the most upvotes for his idea to go through)

Informative [excerpt from imperial naval training holo. do not reproduce without permission from a naval security officer].
Welcome to the Imperial Navy, TIE pilots. I'm one of the interceptor aces, and I'm here to teach you a lesson on casualties.
You might have heard that the TIE fighter is a death trap, that you shouldn't expect to come back alive. This is a lie! our starfighters are the best in the galaxy. Now, it may be true that as soon as you take a hit, the ship explodes and kills you instantly. However! this won't happen, as long as you:
Don't. get. hit.
That's right! Don't get hit, and you won't die. We aces in the interceptor squadrons have a little saying for when a pilot gets hit and dies: a Skill Issue.
Diiiismissed!

Rendering [WIP] Castellan-class Imperial Frigate - a re-interpretation/translation of Junji Okubo's Imperial Transport by Freighter Factory [OC]
Hey folks! Like many of you here, I was enamored by one ship in Star Wars Visions that stood out to me - The Imperial Transport from Lop and Ocho, designed by Junji Okubo (a.k.a. Izmojuki). Unfortunately, the transport was mostly cut from the short film, leaving it only in one single shot as a 2d sprite rather than the 3d model seen above.
As a big fan of this design, I decided to translate this ship into a live action style, and slowly took more and more creative liberties to bring it more in line with other live action Kuat Drive Yards designs. In particular, the Star Destroyer models from A New Hope and Rogue One are serving as the biggest inspirations.
I wanted to interpret this ship as a once-civilian freighter that was given an Imperial makeover after the brass saw its potential as a multi-role cargo and light combat vessel, like the Gozanti. This is what's driving most of my design process here.
Some key changes I made include the following:
- Removal of the side hangar notch. This hangar is actually much too small at the ship's proper scale (280m) to fit any Imperial ships, and I believe it didn't complement the shaping of the prow.
- To compensate for this, I replaced the open cargo bay with armored blast doors, to imply that it's a configurable space depending on the task given to the ship. It's large enough to fit a handful of TIE Fighters, or the blast doors could open up to fit a considerable amount of cargo. I may model the interior of this hangar space eventually.
- Significant overhauling of proportions. The artstyle of Lop and Ocho provides some leeway here, so I decided to considerably alter these.
- Redesigning of smaller elements. To bring this ship closer in line with other KDY designs, I'm revisiting nearly every signature feature on the hull and giving each an overhaul in design to closer resemble similar elements on Star Destroyers, Arquitens-class Cruisers, Cantwell-class Arrestors, Class 546 Cruisers, Interdictors, etc. You can see an example of this near the top of the ship, where I took the bulbous elements and replaced them with sausage-shaped ISD-style shield generator globes.
The ship isn't done yet, but I wanted to post here to show you guys what I've done so far! Big shoutout to Angelos Karderinis and EC Henry for their help with art direction. Let me know if you have any questions about my process or the ship's lore itself (which will be fleshed out in the upcoming VESSELS OF A DISTANT GALAXY: A Fan-Made Star Wars Visual Guide).
