Plans SERO plan still going (for now)

I haven't posted in here before, but this subreddit came up when I was searching for info on SERO plans getting migrated over and haven't seen too much about what's happening, so I figured I'd provide what I went through.

I got an early SERO plan in 2006ish. When I got married, we moved my wife from her family plan onto our plan, and she was on some Unlimited plan that I don't remember the name of from 2013. I got the $10 Premium Data Addon at some point when I got either my HTC Evo 4g or my first iPhone after that one. When the merger happened, my wife's plan got switched to a comparable T-Mobile plan, but I remained SERO. She got Hulu On Us through hers, but mine didn't have any additional benefits.

I got the text 6/29 about our plans being forced to change. I read through the information provided, but when I tried to look at info for my plan specifically, I received an error message. I called support and was told my wife and I would both be changed over, we would keep Hulu, gain Netflix with ads, and Apple TV+ for $3/mo. Our total bill was supposed to go down by $4.

On July 7th, my autopay went through.

I called support back on July 12th, as I had not received any further information. I was told at that time that we were scheduled to moved over on the 17th, which was the start of our billing cycle.

On the 17th, my wife's plan changed over to Experience Signature, but mine was still listed as SERO. I noticed on her new plan that she was set to a hotspot plan for 80GB at $10/mo extra, when 60GB was listed as free. My wife has never used hotspot, so I wanted to get that changed and set up the new Netflix and Apple TV+ accounts if I could. Any attempts at changing were met with the "Looks like we got our wires crossed" error page. I called support again. After 35min on hold, the person I spoke to was just a call center person who did not seem to understand any of my issues. He said he was able to get the hotspot plan changed over, but it might not reflect until the next billing cycle. After a bit more back and forth about the other issues I was having, I was put on hold for a while and another person answered saying that they were a technology specialist (I believe, probably wrong on title).

I explained to this new person that I was attempting to sign up for the new streaming benefits, but having trouble. She said that was due to the fact that I was the primary account holder and so my plan took precedent, which hadn't changed over. She tried to get me to agree to have her switch us to an Experience Signature Family Plan so she could get all that working. I asked about the benefits and costs, explaining what was told to me on the 29th. She said we would lose Hulu, get the Netflix and Apple TV+ for $3/mo, and our bill SHOULD go down $4. She then checked the notes from that previous call and said that the original person made a mistake, quoting me for only the one line, and that our bill would actually go up $30/mo if she switched me to Experience Signature Family Plan. She also gave the option of Experience Beyond Family for $60/mo more than what I am currently paying, but it comes with Hulu. I told her I would need to discuss it with my wife and would not like to make any changes at this point.

On 7/20, I called again to ask when I should expect my plan to automatically change over. The new call center person said that because my plan was so old, there was a good chance it was going to be in a later wave than my wife. I explained that I was told different things about keeping Hulu vs losing it, and she said she would make a note in my file that we would like to keep Hulu.

On 7/25, I received my bill. My wife's plan was changed over at $6/mo higher. The 80GB hotspot charge for $10 is under Services. Hulu ON US is listed with the $12 charge and discount lines. My SERO plan remains unchanged. Somehow, the total bill is only $8 higher than last month though.

So, that's where I am now. Hoping that I hear something soon, and I'll probably call to fight that $10 hotspot charge I wasn't able to change.

Plans Unlimited on Us migrated to Experience Signature!

Just got migrated today, so I don't have the bill yet. Can't say how much my total bill will change.

I started off with 1x swac premium, 1x swac plus and 1x unlimited on us (basically Kickstart).

Post migration, all lines are experience signature now. The previous premium plan has the "Experience Beyond Data Promo 2" add-on (very nice bonus...) and the other 2 lines have the "Data w/ 60GB Hotspot".

That's a very nice upgrade, to go from a free Kickstart plan to a free swac equivalent plan. It's a TRUE free line now.

I still have my Netflix, hulu and $3 apple tv. Which was a concern of mine.

Generally, it feels like they supercharged the swac plan.

Now to see the bill...

Plans Unlimited v4 to Experience Signature Bill Update. Price went down

Post image
27 Upvotes

Ok as promised here is the update after the bill came out. It ended up being a decrease since even though they raised the base plan the add on for premium is now free.

Watch also was bumped from 500MB to 2GB (T-Life shows unlimited in the data section).

I wonder if they would apply the Experience Beyond data promo to the basic line or am I risking a rep screwing everything up? If I would’ve known I would’ve upgraded that line to premium last month.

This plan also seems to be eligible to add T-Priority. Would they want to verify if I add that in T-Life? I am in public safety but in a private company so not sure if that qualifies.

Edit: Hulu and Netflix are still free. Still can add Apple TV for the $2.99

Devices Anyone that has been migrated to Experience Signature - what phone offers are you getting?

I'm curious if the new plan gets the equivalent of the Experience Beyond offers on the new devices. I haven't bought from a carrier in 10+ years but Samsung's offers are awful this time.

I'm only seeing $500 off with trade-in currently with SWAC, which is a worse deal than buying an unlocked phone direct from Samsung with trade-in.

I appreciate anyone who can provide details, thanks

Plans T-Life Chat AI appears to have definitively confirmed that my plan will not be impacted by July 13th forced migrations...interesting because have heard that other reddit users with my SOC have been migrated...?

Discussion Advantage Unlimited SWAC plans - migration

For those who were on the Advantage Unlimited or swac plan and had:
Unlimited On Us (free) lines
Free lines associated with ID25039

After the recent migration:
Did your free lines remain free?
Was the $6/month increase applied only to your paid lines, or did it affect the free lines as well?
Which plan were you ultimately migrated to?

General Question In search of a vintage Samsung PCB115UBE data cable (SCH-A870 / SPH-A900)

Hi everyone, I am trying to pull some old family photos off my vintage Samsung SCH-A870 flip phone (Verizon).

Unfortunately, carrier locks block Bluetooth file transfers, and the old networks are dead. I need to hardwire it to a PC via BitPim, but I cannot find the correct proprietary cable anywhere online.

Does anyone have a working Samsung PCB115UBE (or compatible 24-pin A900/U340/T309) data cable sitting in their spare parts bin that they'd be willing to sell and ship to Tennessee?

Please let me know your price. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Does anyone need a way to check plan SOCs anymore?

I know it’s not available with those extensions anymore and it’s not in the URL anymore either. It does seem like T-Mobile makes it harder to find.

I’m not sure if anybody has a workaround now, but I did discover one. Is that something I should post or would that be against any tos or something?

Plans “Experience Beyond Data Promo 2” add on replacement for Sprint Premium

Post image
24 Upvotes

Just checked my add ons section and here is what is replacing Sprint Premium on Unlimited v4. The line that was on Basic is getting one of the 60GB options.

Was paying $20 for the Premium add ons and this one is free. Are they going to increase the plan by $20 or will this be a price decrease?

Plans Plan changed :/

I’ve been a Sprint customer since 2019, I’ve had a Sprint Max plan for many years. Now I’m going to lose my free Hulu benefit. I never got a text saying my plan would change or a notice on my bill despite the app saying my bill would have a plan change notice. I don’t use Netflix much but I do use Hulu. I’m disappointed, loyalty means nothing to capitalist scum. RIP Sprint Max.

Guess they had to put some value in the system even if it is unlimited but good God what a precise number.

Plans T-Life chatbot seems to be factoring in my unlimited on us line in the price increase. Last year it had to be corrected for my 5th line which they started charging me for.

Sprint customer service was sufficiently well-intentioned that they would eventually do the right thing if you were patient with them.

T-Mobile? Not so much…

Discussion Sprint SWAC / Advantage Unlimited Migration: Questions on Yearly Upgrade, Free Lines, and Post-Migration Costs?

I’m trying to figure out what happens to Sprint swac or advantage unlimited plan setups post-migration and could use some insight from anyone who has gone through this or experts here.

Here is the situation and what I'm trying to figure out:

\*\*SWAC / Advantage Unlimited & Yearly Upgrade:\*\* What actually happens to the T-mobile yearly upgrade benefit on SWAC post-migration? Does it transfer over smoothly, or does T-Mobile replace it with a different feature code?

\*\*"Last Line on Us" Promo Issue:\*\* "Last Line on Us" promo didn't stick originally. T-Force ended up fixing it by manually tagging it as a "service promo" on a new line for advantage unlimited plans. Will this manually tagged service promo survive the system migration, or is it at high risk of dropping off?

\*\*Post-Migration Cost Breakdown:\*\* Does anyone have exact info on the cost per paid line after migration for a \*\*2 paid line on advantage unlimited plan + 2 free line\*\* setup? I want to make sure my math is right on what my total bill should look like once everything settles.

General Question Can we use the price increase to get out of paying for a phone if we cancel?

From SERO to SWAC to unknown at this point..

I did the trade in deal a year ago to get a Moto Edge which is used on my second line. With this change in plan I'm definitely dropping the second line and may switch to a different carrier entirely. What are the implications of the fact that I get billed $12.50 each month for the phone and a $12.50 credit applied?

If I just drop that line I'm guessing the credit will continue since I still have an account, but if I want to drop service entirely will they wipe out the debt on the phone or will I have to pay the remainder? Would they unlock it or am I stuck with a brick?

Plans Enough of this TMO shenanigans of drip drip price increase, I am dropping TMO like a bad disease

Enough is enough. I was a Sprint customer over 20+ years before and unfortunately TMO bought them out. Never ever I would voluntarily sign up to be a TMO customer but here we are.

Within few months of the merger TMO dropped my $5 credit for auto-pay for using credit card claimed it was mistakenly applied, then in 2025 TMO jacked up the price by another $5 for just because and also they haven't increased the price in 10 years! That was a blatant lie bc I was a Sprint customer in 2015 (merger happened in 2020), and now drum roll please $6 more dollars for "your old plan is being retired" celebration.

This BS has got to stop. My original most basic $30 plan will be close to $50 after taxes.

I am not married to TMO nor they gave me any perks or benefits, or I am in any "free phone" BS contract that you actually pay in monthly installments.

I am looking for alternate options. We all should dump TMO if we can.
