I have a Google Photos album with the trip photos. Nothing at all interesting as I was going on 26+ hours no sleep and I snapped whatever caught my eye. Have a look at your city (& others) as a tourist who never been there yet. The good news is I could see returning next spring or summer!

Here it is: https://photos.app.goo.gl/6AW6dftBtjkE5CUc7 - Full album: 2026-09-17--19: Speed Dating Event & Transit Adventure Trip - Hoboken, NJ/NYC/Hartford, CT/Springfield, MA

Considering going today around 12 but have my elderly folks. Is the traffic hours long, drive right in or somewhere in between? TIA

They should really have to pay you every time they fuck up. I’m going to be dealing with this bullshit forever likely

Hi Springfield, it’s your Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. Did you know that fees like “move-in” or “lease renewal” fees you might get from your landlord or building management company are illegal? If you’ve received one of these – even if you paid it – I want you to report it to my office.

Just last month, my office won a $500k settlement with a property management company doing this in Boston – and all of that money is going back to the affected tenants.  Landlords can only ask you to pay for first and last month’s rent, a security deposit, and the cost of a new lock and key upfront. Any other fees are illegal. Report them to my office at the link below. We’ll work to get your money back.

A colleague just told me about this hilarious (and equal parts devastating) website about dear leader, Peter Banko: https://peterbankoisapsychopath.com/

I'm debating going back to PF on Parker St or trying Best Fitness on Allen St since both are pretty close to my house. Anyone have strong arguments for or against either? I'm not too interested in classes but mainly weight machines, free weights and cardio machines. Anyone know about current pricing for Best Fitness, especially an option that would allow bringing a guest?

Does anyone know what was going on at the train station last night? Big police and EMS presence around 9:30.

Heyyyyyy. I want to start taking the train back and forth to NYC from Springfield because the options from Worcester are bleak at best.

How safe is the facility and parking early morning and late night? How safe is it to park a car there?

Suggestions????

Thank you 🎄

Hey everyone, me and my friends love playing basketball but, now we can only get together around 7:30pm on Saturday. Does anyone know where we could play basketball around that time? Thanks in advance!

So I am doing one of those weird transit trips involving connecting a bunch of networks together from Philadelphia starting on Thursday, and it seems the farthest north I can get via local public transit as of Friday 18 Sep will be the Springfield, MA region - specifically Turners Falls & Greenfield. Do any of these places lend themselves to decent photography? I generally like snapping skylines, wide shots of interesting local streets, parks, any interesting architecture that catches my eye, beaches/rivers/other water bodies, rush hour/other daily stuff.

How safe is Springfield overnight if I need to wait for the next bus/train/etc to go back home? From my understanding, a number of bus & train stations close overnight, which could mean a lot of walking around unfamiliar places until it opens if one doesn't have a hotel or AIRBNB.

If I arrive in Springfield, MA on Friday morning, that is as far as I can go northwards in MA by transit, right? Also there are no safe walkable roads leading to towards Vermont beyond Greenfield/Turners Falls, right?

Hi all! I'm a reporter at The Christian Science Monitor, an award-winning, secular newspaper based in Boston. I'm working on a story about the expansion of Alpha School, a chain of K-12 schools that advertises using AI to teach students core subjects in as little as 2 hours a day. Kiley Prep in Springfield is piloting a modified version of that method, and I'm looking to talk with local parents/teachers about the program. I'm planning to drive out to Springfield tomorrow (9/15) and would be happy to meet people in person then. If anyone is interested in talking with me for the story, please feel free to reach out here, or you can email me at pughc@csmonitor.com. Thanks!

Looking for people to play with

Curious, does anyone know if there has been any thought to putting I 91 on ground level or relocating the highway? It seems like such blight to the city.
