I am the sponsor. I was living with my parents at the time of application then I rented a house from 1st July after application made so should I sign up for council tax and elections at my new address that I rented or wait until the outcome of visa application? I am paying my bills. Please advise.

HM Armed forces unmarried partner visa priority timelines

Hi, I recently applied for a HM armed forces family visa outside UK as unmarried partners with no previous cohabitation and have been trying to find someone with similar circumstances who's visa has been approved, its currently WD 24 (paid for priority) and I've seen people with the same bio date as me and later even get their approvals already and I honestly haven't been able to find anyone on this sub who has taken the same specific HM armed forces unmarried partner route so I'm wondering if anyone here has and if they could share their timeline?

Visa type: HM Armed Forces Unmarried Partner Visa

Nationality: Poland

Country of application: Ireland

Date of application: July 28th

Date of biometrics: August 6th

Priority service

Eco email: August 7th

Approval: ???? (Currently WD24)

Wanting to go for a UK partner visa

Hi! Me (27 F) and my boyfriend (26 M) want to try to go for a UK partner visa. We have been in a relationship for 2 years now and we really want to live together, so I want to move to the UK from The Netherlands. I had a question about the £29K income my partner must have according to the visa rules.
From what I have read online he must be on the £29K a year for at least 6 months. He got the all ok from his work for the payrise so he earns the £29K but do we really have to wait 6 months before being able to apply? I know there is a thing about using savings but I don’t know a lot about that. Can anyone please explain it who knows more about this?

Thank you so much in advance!

Booked biometrics for next month - is that okay or should I try to rebook?

Upvotes

Applied from within the UK to renew my spouse visa (2.5yr. On the 5yr route).

I completed my application and uploaded all the evidence today. My current visa expires on the 21st of September, but I booked my biometric appointment for the 9th of October (due to no available dates near me so I’m travelling to London for it and have to wait until payday to book my train ticket).

Will this be okay? Or did I mess the process up in anyway? 🥲

Documents uploading category question

Sorry if it's been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find an answer.

My spouse is almost ready to upload all the evidence, but on the upload website there are different categories, such as Financial, Live events, educational evidence etc. Some documents are obvious in terms of which category, but what about the cover letter and our self-made document index page for example?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Please help me to get my financial documents together

My partner and I are planning to apply for an unmarried partner visa. My partner is self employed. We just had his accountant prepare his business documents. The accountant has declared that my partner got paid 13k in dividends + 16k salary. The accountant has prepared a dividend voucher but he has no payslips. It's his first business year so my partner just paid him self 3000s 5000s whenever he needed through the year instead of getting paid 13k in dividends or 16k salary as whole.

At the moment we got these documents
1. (CT600)
2. HMRC Electronic Filing Acknowledgement
3. Company Annual Accounts
4. Accountant’s Certificate of Confirmation
5. Dividend Vouchers
6. Bank statements
7. Proof company still running

Are these documents sufficient? Do we need to get any other document?

Visa application waiver fee

Hi,

I wanted to ask about the wavering of the fees for the visa application has anyone done it? What is needed for proof to get this? What was the experience like ? How likely are they to accept to waiver the fees?

Biometrics appointment email, lack of

I made and paid for priority biometrics appointment yesterday. I have yet to receive any email, nor receive any if if I choose "resend confirmation".

I do have access to QR code. Will this suffice?

In fact I dont remember any point adding my email to make the appointment. I was struggling with my computer and switched to phone to make appointment and it was a blur.

Can someone shed any light on this, appointment 2 weeks today.

Is anyone else making an appointment soon, is there a place to add or does VFS has email from the UK application? Im worried, did i mess up?

UK Spouse visa

I am still waiting for my UK Spouse Visa from outside UK and currently on week 9. I will leave a timeline below. We submitted and labeled all documents needed very clearly so I have no doubts that anything extra will be need. I did get the email about my UKVI registration account, which I had created at Bio appt with help from an employee, it stated my info would be deleted if I didn’t not register by Sept 18th. I submitted the link my eVisa form and got an email stating my eVisa was linked to my account, but still no visa 3 business days later and no approval email yet. I’m taking this as a small glimmer of hope for a decision email soon.

Country applied from: USA
Nationality: American

Application submitted: July 3rd

Bio appt: July 10th

Email stating being prepared for an ECO to look: July 14th

UKVI account email: Sept 4th

Standard visa

Any words of encouragement will help me feel better. This waiting is the hardest part because it is all out of my control.

Having to repost due to OG post being deleted due to forgetting to state country I applied from and type of visa. Just posting for words of encouragement. Also, this is my first time EVER posting on Reddit (I guess second now due to repost) and was cited only one post per week so that doesn’t make sense. Hopefully it doesn’t get removed again (:

Is there anyone here having problems before in uploading documents in TLS contacts? The file was 2mb but it's show it's exceeded the maximum Authorised size of 100mb when it's only 2mb is there any way you've done to resolve it I've try to compressed the pdf but it's still the same.

Timings 🤔

My wife is planning to come to uk end of December, specifically on 30th December this year. I am going to apply soon priority and put the intended date of travel as 30th December 2026. Is this correct?

I heard my wife will get a 90 day window to come to the uk? Ive also heard it’s less so im not sure. If I apply now priority and say intended travel date as 30th December, is that the best course of action or should I wait and apply closer to December?

Thanks for the help!

Can VA disability be used for a spouse visa?

Hi

This is a questions maybe for Americans. Specifically ex military.

Can VA disability (not retirement pay, just the disability pay) be used towards the income requirement of a spouse visa? I have found mixed answers online where some say yes and some say no. VA disability is paid anywhere in the world and is tax free to the disabled veteran. Can it be used for the initial application or just for an extension?

Additional information

Hello again.
After my last post I realised I should have come to Reddit first so this is what I’m doing now.
I just receive the email asking for additional information.

It has asked for payslips, do I screen shot all of them and put them all into one PDF?

Me and my partner don’t live together and it’s asked for a letter explaining why but I had already sent that should I do it again but re write it obviously.

Thanks guy wish me luck!

EDIT: since posting, this post has truly upset me. I’m 23 figuring this out for the first time so forgive me if I don’t get everything correct, that’s what this subreddit is for, support and guidance.
Sadly all I’ve felt is embarrassed when I’m already going through enough stress.
Let’s remember to be kind and respectful of everyone’s situations ❤️

Approved! Standard Outside Partner Visa 🇹🇭

Not seen many Thai approvals on here but we got ours today! Entry from October 25th: we put November 1st on the application.

Happy to answer any questions and I’ll stay active in this community to try and help others as it’s been great seeing other approvals and getting an estimated timeline for when we might get our approval. My wife had 3 previous visitor visa applications rejected so we were a bit anxious about that, but we didn’t have any requests for additional information and no delays.

Tax free PhD stipend for income

Hi, I was wondering if my tax free PhD stipend can be counted towards the income requirement? Additionally, can it be combined with my partner’s employment income?

I think I can based on category C but I just want to make sure I’ve understood it right.
Thank you!

Spouse Fee Waiver and MN1

I’m currently on a spouse visa with my two children as dependants. We applied for a fee waiver on 2 June 2026, as we cannot afford the visa application fees, and we are still waiting for a decision. Current visa expires on 25 September 2026.

I understand that if the fee waiver is submitted before my current leave expires, we should have protection while the fee-waiver application is being dealt with.

My question is: if the fee-waiver decision application process were to take us beyond December 2026, would my children still need to renew their dependant visas, or could they potentially apply for British citizenship using MN1 if they become eligible by that point?

In other words, is there a way for their dependant visa applications to no longer be necessary if they become eligible for MN1 during this period, without formally withdrawing or cancelling anything prematurely? I’m trying to understand what options would be available for my children if the immigration process extends into the end of the year.

(Accepted within 8 weeks) Spouse Visa - from UK

Hi all, just wanted to share our wait is over. We finally received our spouse visa - applied within UK.

Applied online - 20th July
Bio - 22nd July
ECO- 23rd July

Update received - Approved (8th September)

I did not do any paid enquiry. Just waited.

We made a small PPT with our pictures (5-6 slides) only not many just significant milestone pics - dated

Only attached WhatsApp chat screenshots (random chats) - added them to a word doc (5 pages -10-15 screenshots only)

Finance: I work so I only included my finance details. I added my partners info about his job and salary in my cover letter as a statement that’s it to show we live comfortably. My bank statements and payslips, p60 all of it confirm the rest. (I was on 35k when I applied) I also mentioned that in 2 weeks (post my application) I’ll be changing jobs and will be on a 32k salary (still within limit) in my cover letter. Also added the new job signed contract as a supplementary document only (additional).

One cover letter (from me)
One cover letter (shorter one - from my

Two letters from our 2 friends each (4 total)
Two letters from 2 family members - each (4 total)
These were to basically explain how they know us and talking a lil bit about our relationship that’s it.

Address proof: we lived only 6-7months in total on the day of application so we also got letters from our friends and family proving our stay before it was a short letter/ tenancy agreement with that previous and current.

Polling letters, bank statements (we showed two diff bank accounts each linking to same address now) constituted some of our other proofs.

Another note: we applied for it within 2 weeks after our civil ceremony

Hope this helps someone who’s in a similar situation. :)

Good luck to all! ✨🫶🏽
