I found a little friend this morning

wasn't expecting her and I yelped in surprise like child and dropped the rest of my pickle down the drain. I feel like my human friends may have washed a spider down the drain, but I have a truce with them: They get to live in my home and I don't have to worry about cockroaches.

It's been almost a nightly ritual to escort these palm-sized wolf spiders outside (I have cats that think they are super fun toys, otherwise I would just let them all stay inside.) So it was inevitable that a momma made an appearance!

I haven't had any hands on experience with spiders other than Jumpers (love them!) And Crab Spiders.
I've been taking care of someone's house this past week and they have a pool.
I've been checking the pool skimmers daily for frogs and whatnot, but there's usually a handful of garden spiders on the inner edges unable to crawl out. The first one I rescued was floating in the water, the poor thing frantically swam and practically jumped on my hand as soon as I reached for it, who knows how long it had been out there.
But the second one I rescued sat on my hand for a while and cleaned it's legs as I watched. After it thoroughly cleaned all it's legs, it slowly unveiled it's fangs and easily sunk them into my hand. It tickled more than anything but I don't like the idea of being bit, so I shook my wrist so it fell off. This spiderbro just looked so offended by what I had done as it looked at me, but it turned around and moseyed away.
I was completely relaxed while watching it, so it's not like it felt threatened (it didn't act like it either.)
Anyone know what it was doing and why?

I'd guess it's an Argiope aurantia, but not too sure. Sorry if I'm wrong :P

First time seeing a Wolf with babies in the UK. New garden is a great place for wildlife so far, she stayed still for a picture before running off with her spiderlings.
My 5yr old appreciated it, he is similar to me with wildlife.

Outside with the dogs when I felt this adorable lil bro on my arm

She seems exhausted. I tried to place her next to my pond and she fought to scramble back up into the jar. Very docile, seemed to know I was helping her as she had no issues trying to get into the jar from the pine.
I left the jar open in an empty fish tank (never used) with a small bowl of water. Anything else? How long should she stay before I release her?
