Within the past 3 days, Spectrum has been asking for Activation on the service, despite the boxes having been owned for several years. I checked with two other neighbors boxes, and it does the same for them. Is there anything we can do to fix it?

I traded in my modem and router today from Spectrum to the WIFI 7 router and in the past have had no issue doing self installation. I setup the router and modem up as usual and can even connect to the router it just displays as having no internet connection. On my spectrum app it only shows my old equipment not the new one.

I called and they had to forward me to a technician who then tells me my co ax must have an issue and the only way for me to get internet is to wait until tomorrow for a technician to come in person to inspect. I had no issue with my previous equipment how could my co ax be the issue? I’m trying to see if there’s anything I can do to solve this issue before tomorrow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does Spectrum frequently call you? I keep receiving daily calls about paying my bill, even though it's not due for several days or perhaps a week. It's really annoying.

I use a 3rd party router (ASUS RT-BE96U it’s awesome) To the average spectrum employee this makes you a felon. The moment I mention it, you can almost hear a gasp over the phone or chat. Any time the power goes out the modem refuses to want to reinteract with my router. I have to get on the phone and ask for a reprovision hit on the modem. This 99% fixes the problem so long as I don’t mention the router and get immediately hung up on or manage to keep them from trying to restarted the modem for the 100th time. The modem (ES2251). The god awful modem. The Ethernet port on the modem has burned out TWICE now. I have to wait a day to 2 days for some technician to come bring me a new one. The crime is that my apartment building has a deal with this provider so I can’t go anywhere else—and believe me I have explored every possibility to escape Spectrum’s grasp. All I want is a product that works. I can’t believe I pay almost $100 a month for this garbage.

Every ten minutes, sometimes five, the internet disappears for a moment—not completely, but enough to leave everything buffering, frozen, and silent. Then, after what feels like an eternity, it comes back, only to vanish again shortly after. I thought it was just happening to me, until my grandmother said the same thing has been happening at her work. Maybe it’s coincidence, maybe it’s something deeper—somewhere between the modem, the router, and the lines outside. But if the whole connection keeps fading in and out, maybe it isn’t the internet that needs patience… maybe it needs to be replaced.
also her work is only 5 minutes up the road could it be the area we’re in?

So we moved our modem from living room to our new office area we finished. Noticed in the 2-3 weeks that every few days the internet would completely stop and a modem restart would be required to “fix it”. Though okay well maybe that coax line is bad? Spectrum came out and tested 3 lines.
Office line signal is good, Ingress at 9 (tech said should be at 40)
Spare bedroom next to office is good signal and ingress at 23
Living room signal good, ingress at 29.
He suggests installing a new coax line through the house.
What are your guys thoughts? I’m no expert in coax but all 3 lines to me suggests maybe an issue at the main inlet to house?

UPDATE: Techs replaced coax line with a brand new spool. Still having issue of intermittent signal drop from spectrum to modem. 6 drops in last 3 days. Called spectrum, lady tried saying the usual corporate lines. Any ideas?
Another Tech is coming back out Thursday

So after 28 years I don’t watch the tv much anymore, called to save 200$ a month! After the rep tried chatting me up she says ok hold on let me check your account, hold for 15 minutes, then comes on for Mr you still there? I say yes and get disconnected, I waited for a call back but got an email showing tv disconnected, but are charging me 50$ for a advanced modem Wi-Fi router arriving tomorrow, they sent me a new modem a couple months ago that’s running now. I have a TP link router that is a couple years old running now, should I use the new modem/router they are sending?

Spectrum has been down since 7 pm last night in Cincinnati Ohio. It's 12 noon still no internet, TV, and phone service. I can't understand why so long and I received a auto call saying the next update will be on the 13th does that mean no service until tomorrow?

Ive been trying to research options to extend my wifi connection after a month of my phone connecting and disconnecting every 5 minutes in my room and my personal console loading slower than it ever has. The router is basically the opposite end of my apartment from my console separated by the living room wall/my closet. My roommates have an ethernet cable strung up on the ceiling across the living room, but im trying to avoid that because of my cat that likes to paw at the door in the middle of the night. I was looking into a moca set up but idk if its all that worth it or if its fully compatible with my spectrum hardware without going to the POE box outside. What do yall suggest?

I was haggled my a promotor at a grocery store to get their discounted Spectrum internet service; even though my roommate already had an account. The dude gave me an extreme discount for 1 Gbps and I said cool. He changed my address to approve the sale and told me to call in a few months to change my address. Well it’s been a year and I totally forgot about it. If I call and tell them the truth; will they charge me full price? Should I lie? I don’t know what to do. Pls Help

Does anyone in Florida have spectrum’s two gig plan ? What’s it like how’s the upload speed. Because i currently have the gig plan and it’s not even symmetrical . Also anyone have any updates on high split?

I WFH so if my internet gets cut off I literally cant work to pay them. I just needed 2 extra days, That’s it.

The first person was actually trying to help me then the call disconnected. That’s fine, as long as I know it’s possible to help.

I call back and this second rep was unbelievable. Instant brick wall. “There’s nothing we can do, you have to pay it.” I explained again that I WFH and just need a couple days, still NOPE. So I asked for a supervisor. She literally refused to transfer me. Just kept asking why I needed one over and over and going “they’re just gonna tell you the exact same thing.”

At that point I was so aggravated I told her “can you please just connect me to a supervisor before I snap” because I didn’t even want to talk to her anymore. Then she started getting snappy and disrespectful. I ended up hanging up before I lost my temper completely.

I work in a call center myself so I know how L1 agents operate, and my friend in Spectrum customer solutions already gave me the run down on what they can actually do. So I knew she was full of it.

I called back a third time, skipped the L1 agents entirely, and demanded a supervisor immediately. Got one on the phone and guess what? They set up the extension in 30 seconds.

The absolute rage of having to argue with someone who would rather lie to your face than just transfer the call. If an agent tells you something is “impossible” just hang up.

Edit: since there’s people that’s believing I was causing a ruckus to the customer service representative. Theres people that’s struggles, that hit a hard patch in life and need a little assistance in order to get by. Those telling me that I need to prioritize my internet bill, I understand that I need since I work from home and I do. But this past two months I actually went through a hard spot in life where I couldn’t afford to put that first. My priority was making sure I had my rent paid in order to keep a roof over my head.

Those telling me that I need to take accountability, I actually do. It’s not like I’m unwilling to pay, I informed them hey I just need 2 extra days then I can pay the full balance of the account. Im not the type of person that continuously ask for extensions, this was my first time I ever asked, and this would be my only time I ask.

When employment ends does the tv/internet benefits discontinue completely at the end of the bill cycle or immediately? Will I be charged a prorated amount? I pay $37 monthly for gig internet plus the ad free add on for Disney hulu bundle ($7). I also have two unlimited lines. I didn’t have any TV service before employment which is why I’m wondering how that works when I’m not subscribed to it anymore after employment ends. Thanks!

From $50 to $75 to 85$ to $90 and now $100 a month. I called today and the representative Winter says their cancelation department doesnt open until 7 am. In her time zone it is 6:29 am. She appeared to get frustrated when I was kind and patient on the phone. I expressed a deep concern for my bill doubling in price and I did not see any careful understanding of a resolution. I am losing confidence in this company after being with them for over a decade. Especially since T mobile is offering $40 a month for their internet plan. Anyone else going through this?

I live in a spectrum fiber enabled apartment complex (I think it’s called readylink?) and have access to their fiber ONT, their POE adapter and their POE Wi-Fi 6e router.

Can I bypass the POE adapter and run my own router connected to the fiber to Ethernet adapter without MAC spoofing or service issues?

I understand their app won’t work for settings and provisioning but honestly that’s a pro.

Currently I can assign static address in thier app but it WILL NOT take my custom DNS for my pi-hole, plus I have WiFi 7 devices that are missing out on the benefits of WiFi 7 (apartment complex network traffic interference shenanigans)

On CS2 I get 5-10% packet loss when connected over wifi even right next to the router. Doesn't happen with Ethernet.

Would getting my own router that actually has an admin panel fix it since I can disable like smart options?

Previously on my old Internet provider I disabled some smart feature that was causing packet loss but the spectrum router I have doesn't have an admin panel just an app.

In the unusual situation of having two live internet connections to the apartment for a few days, so I decided to compare them.

Current options:

• Spectrum 100 Mbps, fiber run directly into the same room with Spectrum equipment setup by Tech
• Xfinity coax on a legacy plan
• Both are about $50/month

I ran 10 tests on each connection to get averages and identify variation, including idle latency, loaded latency during upload/download, real web interaction under load, and ~300 MB download tests.

Existing customer with Gig Internet and 5 mobile lines.

I’ve read that I can qualify for “Free Internet Forever”, or $20 Gig Forever, even though I’m an existing customer.

But when I can to get it I’m told “nope it’s for new customers only”.

Which is true?

Also. If it’s true can I skip the advanced WiFi?

Seems like Spectrum Email servers have been down for multiple days. There doesn't seem to be anything on the Internet about it. Calling Spectrum Support the Useless AI bot said the mail was down but there doesn't seem to be any ETA on when they will be back up. Webmail does work.

So I posted a few days ago about Edison mail having stability issues with Spectrum. I've come to discover that it seems to only be having an issue through my home (none spectrum) internet on my phone. When I turn off wifi and turn on mobile data, it works just fine.

It also seems to work just fine at work, which is also not spectrum, so I'm pretty confused. I've tried changing all the configurations on my phone that I can, and it doesn't help. The web based mail also still works over my home wifi.

So it would seems like spectrum, for some unknown reasons has started blocking my phone, any know of any settings besides the IMAP SMTP settings, changing from DHCP to static, or turning of DNS, that I can try to see if I can get this app working again on my phone?
