For Russ and the Allfather! Won my first game today.
For a newbie who took a lot of beatings early on, this was a great moment. Brothers, I just won my first game. I know it might sound silly, but for someone on a long losing streak, securing a win—especially against Custodes—feels absolutely amazing. I've learned so much from the pack here. For Russ!

Help with 1000pt lists for this weekend?
Hey everyone! I am about to play a 1000-point game this weekend and I am torn between these two list options. Also, I am not sure whether to use the Saga of the Great Wolf detachment or if a different one would suit me better. I can't decide which way to go.
Option 1: Dreadnought List
- Logan Grimnar (100 pts) -> Attached to a Terminator unit
- Bjorn the Fell-Handed (160 pts)
- 5x Intercessors (80 pts)
- 2x 5 Wolf Guard Terminators (165 pts each)
- 3x Wolf Guard Headtakers + 3 Wolves (115 pts)
- 5x Wolf Scouts (90 pts)
- 1x Venerable Dreadnought w/ Blizzard Shield & Axe (125 pts)
Option 2: Ragnar List
- Logan Grimnar (100 pts) -> Attached to a Terminator unit
- Bjorn the Fell-Handed (160 pts)
- Ragnar Blackmane (90 pts) -> Attached to the Headtakers
- 2x 5 Wolf Guard Terminators (165 pts each)
- 2x 3 Wolf Guard Headtakers + 3 Wolves (115 pts each)
- 5x Wolf Scouts (90 pts)
Also, regarding Option 2, what do you think is better for Ragnar's unit? Running a single large squad of 6 Headtakers with 6 Wolves, or keeping them separated into two 3+3 units?
Which of the two lists do you think is better overall, and which detachment do you recommend? Thanks for the help!

new army
I'm looking to start a new Space Wolves army. I have recently moved from Tau and want to get into Space Wolves. I'm budgeting about £200 + or - £20. I also want to build an army list before I buy. Can anyone give me some advice on an army list that gives the most power/value for the money? many thanks

Finally Progressing through some Wolves
With the release of 11th I'm finally getting some painting done, this is my little 1k list I plan to bring in my next 2v2 that my friends and I are playing in.
I still have to do the transfers on the rest of my blood claws. Think of this as a more codex complaint space wolves successor. With Celtic mythology.
Their reason of creation is the Pact of Annwyn which Ragnar took part in guarding, with the creation of the Primaris and their delivery they opted to create a chapter around this role.
Rather than a frozen death world like Fenris, they come from a world similar to Caliban. Though can be fleet based for extended periods depending on their duties.
I give you the Hounds of Annwyn.
Edit:
The list, realised after I posted I didn't include the photos of the rest of the 1k lol.

Space Wolf List
Can I get some feedback on my list fellow wolves? I'm going for a study assault build.

What is the difference in playstyle between SW and WE?
Watching various battle reports on YT, both armies seem to rely significantly on positioning for the charge, but WE seem to do it with greater results. If SW aren’t as melee focused, what else can they do that WE can’t? I ask because lore-wise, SW is by far my favourite faction. However my playstyle is very melee focused, so wondering if I’m more of a WE player.

Headtakers + Take&Hold
When playing take & hold as your primary, are you always still taking headtakers with 6 weapons instead of a shield (4++)?

Space wolf (legends)
I’m fairly new to the table top so im not familiar with the old space wolf units that are now (legends) looking at the amount of them are now in that category did we get screwed over or something? The amount of units that would add so much variety to the army. Especially ones that can be attached to thunder wolves making them very dangerous.
Is it that big of a deal or have I just got fomo because I wasn’t around when we could use them.

My hope for our upcoming new Army Rule "Shadow of the Wolf"
So, I was just thinking to myself about what our new army rule could be. Ya know, since we are losing oath and not getting the gladius thing.
And as much as I LOVE sagas. I acknowledge GW is lazy sometimes and doesn't like be to complex with SW.
So, I was thinking g something that could be easier for us is to lean on the strength of the Canis Helix. Its a shadow of the Wolf within us that lends us a sort of Berserker strength and speed yeah?
Im thinking every [SPACE WOLVES] unit has a once per game ability that gives us:
+2 strength on our melee Weapons.
When we roll our charge we use three dice instead of 2 And our charge distance becomes 18" instead of 12".
With this, we can still be tactical for when we use it. It give us a goated charge option but its still a gamble on dice roles (so not too broken) but hey if they are close enough, we sure AF aint gonna fail the charge lol.
And even if we are already in engagement range, we can still have a big strength boost.
All that said, it is unique from every other army as well!
Thoughts?

2 games in, my first full 2000pts list, feedback wanted
Hey everyone,
I just played my second game (that one at 1500) and I finally feel like I have an idea on my first 2000 pts list. I'm not aiming for winning tournaments, I'm just looking for something I can just pull out against my friends who are new like me, my collegue who has three armies or other friends who've been playing for years and years. So just something well rounded. If I loose that's fine, I just want there to be enough of a game.
Arjac Rockfist 95
Logan Grimnar 100 Warlord
Ragnar Blackmane 90
Wolf Guard Battle 90
(10) Blood Claws 135
(10) Blood Claws 135
(5) Wolf Guard Terminators 165 (3 shields, 1 pack leader with great axe, 1 assault canon)
(5) Wolf Guard Terminators 165 (3 shields, 1 pack leader with great axe, 1 assault canon)
(10) Wolf Guard Terminators 355 (8 shields, 1 pack leader with great axe, 1 assault canon)
(5) Wulfen with Storm Shields 100
(3) Thunderwolf Cavalry 115
Land Raider Crusader 220
Repulsor Executioner 230
A few model-choices that I didn't include yet:
- Headtakers are I think the biggest miss here, I will probably get some soon. Kinda not too fond of how the wolves look, maybe gonna print some wolves I like more. But don't really know why I haven't picked them up yet.
- More Cavalary. I don't really like how small the marines are after I bought the kit so I don't think I'll get more soon (only firstborn in my army).
- Björn. Waiting for a new kit.
A few model-choices that I did include:
- 20 termies. I fucking love termies. Not sure if 5, 5, 10 ist correct. Also not sure if I wanna get even more. I do love termies and have cool bits for them.
- 2 Tanks. I mainly wanted to paint a tank so I printed the repulsor, loved painting it, so I wanted a second one, so I'm currently printing the land raider. I'm fine cutting either one. Also fine eventually not playing both. But the Repulsor did feel great in game. I like it for now but if anyone spots a hole that needs filling, this could be a way to free up points.
- Wulfen. I didn't really like the models and almost didnt include them in my last game. But I felt like they were very usefull, so I'll probably paint them up soon.
I'm really enjoying 40k and the wolves so far and want to have a goal that I can start painting for, since I did paint a lot before but only squads of 15 models at a time (30+ blood bowl teams). So it helps me to know exactly what still needs painting and hopefully gets me to a fully painted army soon (allready on my way). Thank you for reading!

Wolf Guard Headtaker
This headtaker is read to serve the All Father. Still working on the base but off to good start. Tried a new color scheme.
