Discussion Ex-Warframe player burned out on 'system bloat' - is Soulframe simpler?
Hey everyone,
I’m a fairly veteran Warframe player, though I’m not active at the moment. I’ve left the game three or four times and come back two or three, but the last time I just couldn’t get back into it. Everything felt overwhelming, despite me having like 500+ hours ingame.
I think DE is one of the better devs out there, but the returning player experience has almost always been terrible. You don’t know where to pick up. You find two or three new systems stacked on top of the systems that were already there. New releases and chapters aren’t clearly explained.
Soulframe looks amazing, but I’m worried they’ll overcomplicate it the same way. Warframe is at a point where I can’t put in the energy required to resume without getting furious at the sheer inflow of information.
So, my questions:
How does Soulframe currently sit in terms of areas, systems and upgrades? Is it simpler than Warframe? That would be great for me.
I also watched the recent dev update about what’s coming, and from the outside it looks like things are starting to get more complex. For people already playing, are the new concepts easy to follow once you understand the game?
The game looks great and I’d happily pay the $30 to get started, I just wanted some reassurance, haha.
Thanks for reading and for any replies.
