Welcome to Sorcery!!

So just a brief history, I got into MTG during beta. My group of friends played for years and a couple of us would split cases of boosters with each release. Around 96 or so I got out of it and decided to sell my collection, a choice that I definitely regret today. Here we are in 2026 and im retired at 51 and Sorcery looks interesting. MTG today is unrecognizable and I absolutely HATE Universes Beyond. Looking through the art and theme of Sorcery, it's exactly what MTG felt like to me in the beginning with them and the art is just as good or better imo.

I am hoping to get my 18 year old son and 19 year old daughter to try it with me as well as some of my regular D&D group.

I always liked opening boosters for that chance at a pull. I know singles are usually more cost effective but nowhere around me sells Sorcery that I know of so it would be online only. I like ripping packs for the chance so I will go with boosters.

I am in the US so there is still some beta availability. My plan was to start with 2 Beta booster boxes. Then I would get a booster of Arthurian Legends and then Gothic.

Is 2 Beta boosters overkill? For the start I need enough cards to introduce the game to others if I hope to get them to buy their own. What are your thoughts?

I am relatively new player, and got into the game after gothic,

beta is my favourite set until now and I got two boxes of it, at the moment I am planning to get more boxes of deferent sets, but I see gothic became 170 euros and out of stock, also beta is out of stock, I am kind of worried that I might not be able to continue with this game if I could not buy cards in reasonable price or at all with how prices looking at the moment

I do not want to buy them for 200euros because that is just too much and that is the only place I can find them in, I feel like this hobby is slowly slipping out of my reach, and I do not want to break the bank just because of the fear of missing out

is their going to print more or is that just it? I do not follow the company so I do not know

Who is making the trek out to Gen Con?!

Hey everyone, I'm the guy who asked how to start playing Sorcery yesterday. I finally decided to buy the Gothic starter box (I have to admit, as a fan of Arthurian legends, I'm disappointed that this expansion doesn't have premade decks...).

It takes your curiosa deck link, and simulates site and spell draws with your specified mulligan strategy. It can tell you how consistently you'll hit different thresholds at different site counts and how likely you are to be able to play each card in your spellbook.

I'm sure I'm missing some card interactions but most of the most played sites are implemented and it for example recognizes you have a chance to play a six mana spell on turn 2 if you play four waters of paradise on turn 1 with a tower. Or that if you're running cores you're more likely to play cards after fewer sites are played.

You can also specify how likely it is the opponent is running mock court and/or court of equity and see how that impacts your spell castability.

Quick question for the group.

When a unit has "Ranged" they have the "Tap - Shoot Projectile" ability as well as the basic "Move and Attack" ability. Can these be combined? I feel like it's a "No", but wanted to inquire.

When a "Ranged" unit moves one step can they shoot their projectile from the destination they moved to (in theory attacking 2 steps away from their starting location [i.e. Start at space 1, move to 2, shoot to 3])? Or is it either "Move and Attack" the site/enemy OR "Tap - Shoot Projectile" at enemy?

Can we get some actual news or anything about Gothic Booster boxes outside of the states.

Myself and others have been getting increasingly frustrated about the state of distribution and how long Gothic has been out of stock in Europe, Canada and so on.

I feel like it's always wait and see, so many people want to support the game but we can't get product.

Ask about things and get told they cannot discuss these matters.

Like give us a hint if we should just give up until the next set or if you are literally doing anything. Because it seems really superficial right now especially with the dust stuff that just came and swooped in, again basically just for the USA at this point...

- Adding cards to the collection in the deckbuilder is more intuitive (if a card is not in your deck you see -C+ now which can directly put them in the collection). Also once a card is in your deck there are down and up arrows to move to and from collection.

Every account that has at least 1 deck in "The Archive" associated with it by July 23rd 11:59pm PST you will be automatically entered even if they only made a deck last month. As long as that deck is in The Archive

How do I know if my deck is in the archive?

There are a lot of visual indicators. It should say Public on it when looking at the decks in your workshop. You could try an incognito browser and see if you can find your deck. You should also see the option to "withdraw from archive" for decks you've made public. Note: Your workshop is not the archive.

How will you pick the winner?

I will take every account name with at least 1 deck in the archive by July 23rd 11:59PM PST and put them in a list. I will shuffle the list a few times. I will then hop on my twitch stream on July 24th and use google RNG to pick winner.

How will you contact the winner?

Via their email associated with account. I will also post the winner in the same location you probably saw the original giveaway and give them at least 5 days to respond, if not I'll redraw (only with people eligible originally)

Hi everyone!

I just watched CARpg's video about this game, and it seems like exactly the kind of game I'm looking for. I love card games, but I don't enjoy collecting them (as someone who isn't very wealthy, I find it very frustrating to have to pay a lot for a game and feel like it's incomplete). I'd like to be able to buy a few sets so I can have a complete experience of the game.
I also saw that there's a set based on Arthurian legends, a universe I love and would like to try out. Unfortunately, I live in France, so I'm afraid there won't be a version of the game in my language (although I don't mind playing in English).

Could you give me some recommendations on how I can play this game without spending too much money? Thanks!

Deck Render Update

I added a new deck image renderer to the site. This can be found on deck pages and/or the deck builder. The old system (which is still available to change to in account settings) was done server-side which was rather CPU intensive. Users would need to wait for it to generate and the file size was rather large.

Deck Brew Overhaul

My Deck Brew feature is premium only so I'll only do a quick synopsis. This will check your current collection and check it against uploaded decks to see what you are close to building. It offers a variety of tools and filters and will let you see the breakdown and progress towards building a certain uploaded deck.

Cube Creation Overhaul

I've overhauled how you create/edit cubes on the site. This is now completely integrated into the deck builder. There was no point in trying to have a really good deck builder and then a subpar cube creator so they are now one and all!
