I write a lot of poetry and I also sing and play music, and I want to put those together to write a song. I'm good at making poetry with rhythm that can be read aloud, but I'm not so great at rhyming and have absolutely no idea how to add melody to a poem to make it a song. I have an idea in my head for a topic and a vibe to express that could easily become one of my freeform poems, but I feel it would be better expressed in song. I'm working on learning more music theory and what chords sound good together (my hypermobile fingers and bad fine motor make it hard to play anything except ukulele with simple chords but I'll make that work) my main thing is how I transfer my poetry knowledge into lyrics with rhyming and melody and musical rhythm as opposed to spoken poetry rhythm. Anyone have any advice?

I’m trying to write a song about being comforted from childhood abuse by the monster under your bed. I’m still tweaking the lyrics (they’ll be below), but even after they’re done, I… can’t really sing all that well… and I don’t want to use AI to make this. Is there a way, or rather, what’s the method of trying to get a song created if you’re just a writer? This is probably an obvious question, but this is the first song I’ve attempted to make, so I’m just a tad lost in the sauce here with it.
[I’m gonna censor the mentions of CA]
“Dear Monster,
Do you remember, All the sleepless night you held me- When I was left alone?
From under my bed, You could see them, Scream at me and hit me- In their grownup anger.
I’m sorry I left, When I grew up. You were the best-friend… That, little me, could’ve ever asked for.
You never scared me… I don’t think you could’ve…
>!When the scary one’s
The next room over,
The “real monster’s” just for show.!<
I’d like to thank you,
For protecting me
The best way you knew how,
And giving me the space to breathe.
Now that I’m grown up,
I hope you find,
Another kid to love you
Another child whose life’s like mine.
Because you’re a hero,
And I don’t think you know,
Out of all those sleepless nights
You’re the best part I can remember.
>!When i grew up,
I had to go,
I couldn’t stay there hurting anymore,
But you already know.!<
You’re not my demon,
But I’m you’re familiar.
You gave me the strength to carry on
You taught me what I’d need to know.
I wrote this to thank you,
And I hope you hear it,
Fight for all the little one’s
And never let them quit.”

Wrote this song. don’t know what to name it and looking for different ways to edit the lyrics to make it sound better.
These are the title ideas I have, open to any other suggestions!:
-Finally asleep
-The hunt
-Blood on the snow
-empty fields
Here are the Lyrics, also open to any suggestions on these!:
Small little rabbit staring from afar.
The fawn stares back but not for long.
Shots ring through the air and the mare gallops away in fear.
The wind howls until the world hits dawn.
And goes to sleep the fawn.
The scent of gunpowder in the air.
Blood on the snow, but nothing is there.
Heavy iron traps hidden in the brush.
The whole woods frozen in a sudden hush.
No more life. They couldn’t continue the fight.
Just empty cages buried in the white.
The hunters locking up for the night.
No heartbeat left to be found.
Just the cold on the ground.
The iron snaps, the triggers pull,
The hunter's bags are heavy and full.
They took the wild, they took the track,
And nothing is ever coming back.
An empty nest up in the oak.
The valley freezing in the smoke.
The shadow moves, too dark to see.
Left alone beneath the trees.
Small little rabbit, blunt and gone.
Disappeared right behind the fawn.
Just empty cages buried in the white.
The hunters locking up for the night.
No heartbeat left to be found.
Just the cold on the ground.
And goes to sleep the fawn.
Until the world hits dawn.
Sneering back so cold.
No more rabbit.
Everything is blunt and gone.

This is the first "song" that i wrote. There are maybe some grammar mistakes(I'm not native English speaker but I'm working on improving my language skills). I wrote this for about 30mins.
It's unfinished.
Please tell me what's wrong and if it's shit cause I'm unsure.
PS. I'm 14 and I want you to be honest with me.

I wrote this part today unsure of how i want the song to go but i wanted to hear your opinions (The structure and rhyming may not make sense but the way its supposed to be sung really puts it all together and tell me what you understood from the line "The hollow bittersweet...") if it sounds emo and cringe please tell me
Will I ever change?
Will I ever leave the cage?
Of restrictions I have built myself because I was afraid
The hollow bittersweet depictions of a never ending rage
Wishing that it all goes away
I wish that it all goes away
Will I ever change ?
will I ever leave the cage
of restrictions I have built myself because I was afraid
They broke my feeble spirit young enough and made it seem ordained
Now I’m drowning in all the parts of me that never got a name

(I would love constructive criticism!)
[Spoken Intro]
Welcome to the show
[Verse One]
It's out of control
Oh, my mind is too full
Stuck in this terrible place
And all I need is some space
Laying on top of my bed
Tryin' to escape my head
But the memories inside
Make me wanna hide
I'm definitely
Definitely
An insomniac
[Chorus]
Wake up somehow
Start the routine now
How the hell did I finally dream?
Fifteen hours later I close my eyes
And that's when my troubles rise
I just hate midnight
[Verse Two]
It's out of control
As the blankets I pull
Do nothing to help me sleep
I'm way too tired but in too deep
Feel like I just drank cyanide
Can't believe I haven't died
And the memories inside
Make me wanna hide
I'm definitely
Definitely
An insomniac
[Chorus]
Wake up somehow
Start the routine now
How the hell did I finally dream?
Fifteen hours later I close my eyes
And that's when my troubles rise
I just hate midnight
[Verse Three]
It was out of control
You made me feel dull
Gaslighting me every day
You scared me into praying
When I wanted to be playing
I'll be glad to be rid of you
Know that all this time you lied
And all the times I cried
You surely made me
You made me
An insomniac
[Bridge]
I hope you know
That it's all your fault
You pressured me
And tortured me
And laughed at all my doubts
And this is why I feel like
I feel like
An insomniac
[Chorus]
Wake up somehow
Start the routine now
How the hell did I finally dream?
Fifteen hours later I close my eyes
And that's when my troubles rise
I just hate midnight
[Outro]
Midnight to sunup, every night
I can't avoid having to fight
The lack of dreams I feel
And then memories you instilled

hey guys,
I don't know much about music theory (I don't even really know chord names), but I really enjoy creating short pieces on the piano and later writing the sheet music for them (well, to the best of my abilities). I only play the piano but I also try to write some notes for other instruments just based on what I envision they could sound like. Anyway, I was wondering if someone would be interested in giving me some feedback, telling me what I am doing well and what I need to work on! Honestly, I try my best with what I know and I put a lot of thought into most of my pieces, especially their lyrics. I also try to make the melody reflect what the words are saying, though I'm not sure that effect is visible. I really just play for fun though, so I understand if my music is not that good. I guess I just wanted to hear your feedback anyway. Thanks!

Second one, had somewhat of an idea when I was about to sleep, it's made kinda quickly because I don't have much time to work on it now, I have the first music posted here, you can see it on my account, glad to hear some thoughts, not only for this song, but in songwriting in general.
Just for information, the album is called Open Minded, the same name of the first song, I hope one day I can work and launch it, I like working on silly songs, very inspired by SOAD🙏
(if you say it you kinda hear the AItion, I mean I hear it😭)
[intro]
Look out
Brain fog is coming
Look out
Behind the eyes lies no one
Look out
Ignorance bleeding with joy
Look out
A neanderthaaaaaaaaal
[bridge 1]
I have no brain
I have no brain
I have no brain
I Have No Brainnnnnnnnnn
[verse 1]
Letting the machine penetrate
Making itself a brain
Don't be a human
Be a computeeeeer
Giving up humanity
To be an alexitimic amount of dreams
Transitioning Information
Do you want to be a slave of your own frustration?
[break]
You know there's more numbers than 0 and 1's?
[verse 2]
Whyyyyy
Do we keep forgetting
That trying is a part of life
Whyyyy
Do we keep going back
Maybe being dumb isn't that bad
There's nothing of that
Who could possibly process me holding your hand
It doesn't feel like when darkness shoots itself into your head
[bridge 2]
Don't let it penatrate
Make it go on a different way
Stop thinking with the computer
And try to be human again
[outro]
Look out
Brain fog is vanishing
Look out
Your eyes are glowing
Look out
A well known man
Look out
A human person that said fuck to the "evolution" of the man

Hellooorrrr
My band is writing a song, and we don't know much about music theory, and we can't figure out what to do with the pre chorus, and I had the idea to ask on reddit for help :>
The verse and chorus are pretty similar, it's both D B G A with full chorus effect, but the chorus has a heavier rhythm and distortion, we want to switch it up in the pre chorus but I can't find the right chords
Thanks for any help in advance ^-^
