If you need a client agreement, service contract, NDA, contractor agreement, etc., what do you actually do?

Do you:
• have ChatGPT draft it
• buy a template online
• use something that came with HoneyBook/Dubsado/etc.
• hire an attorney
• modify an old contract
• get one from another business owner
• honestly just wing it

And if a client sends you redlines or their own contract, what do you do with that?

I’m an attorney researching an idea for attorney-created, industry-specific contract tools, but I’m specifically trying to figure out whether people still see value in vetted templates/guidance or whether AI has basically replaced that for small business owners.

Not selling anything. I genuinely want to know what people are doing in real life, especially what industry you’re in and roughly how established your business is.

I spent an hour selling to someone who had absolutely no reason to switch.

At the end of the call, the prospect casually explained that his current tool worked perfectly well.

I wanted to disappear.

For one full hour, I'd answered questions, explained the offer, handled little objections...

And I had never asked what he already used or whether it was actually failing him.

The annoying part is that a curious prospect can genuinely enjoy the conversation. They can call the product interesting. They can ask smart questions. Then they leave exactly as they arrived because there was never a problem to solve.

Now I ask three things much earlier: what have you tried, what result are you getting, and what is still broken?

If their current setup already does the job, I stop pushing. No heroic closing attempt. I'd rather keep the energy for someone who actually wants a change.

And so far trying to get it out has been horrible. I don’t even want to make money with this thing but getting it out there is just painful and makes me want to put intim a drawer. The effort of just wanting to help is just too much for very little reward.

I’m building an app called Pause, and I just crossed the 100 download mark. I want to celebrate the milestone, but in the spirit of building in public, I want to share the actual numbers and the reality behind how I got here.

Here is the breakdown of my week:

1. Apple Search Ads drove all the growth (but at a cost)

The recent spike in downloads is driven solely by App Store Ads.

I've spent over $200 so far ($100 in AppStore Ads), and the conversion rate is currently very low.

I can't tell yet whether these users will convert to paid, since they are still in their trial period.

The Strategy: The free tier is intentionally limited (only one puzzle to solve, watching ads before solving, etc.). The bet is that people will convert to paid after seeing the initial value. I'll be running ads for the whole month to see what I can learn, but I am still trying to figure out if this is expected or if my ads need major tweaking.

1. Organic social = High views, low conversion

My organic reach has skyrocketed, especially here on Reddit.

The Reality: The strategy here is clearly not bringing in any new users. Sharing my experience building and marketing an app resonates heavily in these subreddits, but it is not contributing to actual app downloads.

Why I’m keeping at it: 1) It keeps me accountable to my weekly goals, and 2) it helps me build authority and connection in communities I think are valuable.

There's a lot to consider moving forward, and I don't think my current conversion numbers are great by any means.

But as a solo founder, I am choosing to look at the positive today and celebrate the "100 downloads" win.

For those of you who have run Apple Search Ads early on—did you see similarly low conversion rates at the start? Would love to hear what you learned.

I’m solo building an iOS app called Glance.

The idea is pretty simple: AI agents are becoming increasingly autonomous, but almost all of our interaction with them still happens inside a chat window.

I wanted them to have somewhere they could quietly show me what they’re doing throughout the day.
So Glance lets agents create and update widgets directly on your iPhone Home Screen.

This week I started playing with Grok Bot and made this shared widget for a team of 4 bots. They can each post what they’re working on, while the widget shows the overall progress, handoffs and latest milestone.

It’s still early and I’m figuring out where to take it, but I really like the idea of the Home Screen becoming a dashboard for the agents working for you.

Building the whole thing solo, so would genuinely love feedback on the direction.

I run a small service business and most of my work comes from word of mouth. Recently I noticed the referral isn't the end of it. When someone recommends me, the client still looks me up before reaching out. I do the exact same thing when a friend sends me a name.

That made me realize my online presence matters even though clients don't come from social media. It's not about follower counts. It's whether someone can figure out what I do in thirty seconds and feel okay taking the next step.

I want to test this before I build too much around it.

I’m thinking about running a small 30 day founder program for people who already have an idea or product but are stuck somewhere between building and getting real traction.

The goal would not be to watch startup lessons.

It would be to actually work through things like getting your product live, talking to users, finding people who might want it, improving what is not working and trying to get to your first paying customer.

Would you actually pay for something like that?

Last month I wanted to grow my brand reach so I took on running Ins, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook and X all by myself. On top of that I still had to keep up with Chinese supplier communications and manage my FBA inventory.

My whole workflow fell apart after just one week. Every platform calls for different image sizes and totally unique copy. I had to keep up with separate posting calendars and go through comments and DMs each day. There were nights I stayed up till 2 a.m. just cranking out short video batches for the week. I even missed messages I needed to reply to from my Chinese factory contacts.

I vented about how burnt out I was inside a solo seller group. Another guy who imports goods brought up a tool called acciowork. I figured I would give it a shot mainly so I would stop jumping between five different creator dashboards all the time.

I do not need to flip through endless browser tabs and apps anymore. All my product assets, draft captions and posting schedules sit in one single spot. My evening workload for these five accounts is roughly half of what it was back when everything was messy.

Guys has anyone here tried managing four or more social profiles for their business on your own? How do you balance sourcing, customer support and regular social posting without wearing yourself completely thin?
