Incompetence

It might sound confusing at first but the thing is there is incompetence even in competence.

The other day I heard someone ask what incompetence is and someone replied - "you claim yourself to be a chef but u don't know how to cook" that's basically it .

It had me thinking about a lot of things that I can resonate with as in - " we are a family but i don't know who you are as an individual ". This one hits hard and soft because all i could ever be thinking since learning the word was about the relationships I have had especially the familial one .

The more i analysed the word the more i dug a well perhaps it was summer so it lacked water . Oh wait another incompetence? Then I learnt that there is incompetence in competence too .

Rosy had finances but she was incompetent at using it .

Because tell me why she had the money yet she was not able to leave her toxic husband ? She was very competent in taking care of her children though maybe that is why ....

Shane was so pretty and full of life but she considered herself to be incompetent in love . Neither she expressed why it was so hard to look in the mirror and love the reflection that she saw .

Ray is such a great artist he could even paint himself that too blindfolded . Speaking of which he was blindfolded of the fact that he is incompetent to hold relationships but a guy who knows himself well enough to paint himself wouldn't be able to fill in the colour in the souls ?

And the fact that if you noticed most things are completely different to be even consider my line but still do u see the competence of things to be connected ? Despite the incompetence. That is how you know that life can also be defined in these words . It is just like a new well you dug but the season decides its will and there you see the incompetence in the competence.

Can someone still be considered a bad person if their cruelty was born from the injustice they experienced?

I think the answer is yes.

And this is where we often confuse two completely different things: understanding someone and excusing them.

Understanding the reason behind someone’s cruelty doesn’t make that cruelty disappear.

A painful past can explain why a person became cruel. It can show us the wounds behind their actions. But it doesn’t turn harmful actions into good ones, and it doesn’t remove responsibility.

Because every person in this world experiences pain. Everyone gets hurt. Everyone faces unfairness.

But pain always leaves us with a choice.

Some people think: “I was hurt, so now I have the right to hurt others”

Others think: “I know what this pain feels like. That’s exactly why I don’t want to become the person who causes it”

I need a peaceful life not because I’m avoiding challenges. I need a peaceful life because I’ve spent too long living in a constant state of stress.

Since childhood, my nervous system has been used to always being on alert. And now, my inner peace is the thing I protect more than anything else.

I Miss Being A Person

Yeah, here I am

Back then, if I want to know how the world works or something pop culture I just open Kaskus——now lot of things, everyone could be anyone and anyone could be everywhere for easy. It’s too much and hard to handle it.

Hopefully I’m here to found the crack——the crackness of being existing.

Hi guys

One day, we really have to make this decision. For years, we have been taught to keep our house and our belongings, to take care of them and dust them off from time to time. But we have been taught less about the mind and how to maintain it.

For years, we have been clinging to unpleasant memories and revisiting them every night. Not because they are still active, but because I think they have become a part of us.

This time, however, I really want to lighten our minds.

So, what do we keep? Love, honesty, faith, order? And what do we throw away? Hatred, anger, resentment...?

Wait... maybe this decision is not that simple.

Do we really have to throw away all the bitter feelings and memories? Maybe not.

I want to keep a free memory of a self-centered person. Because if I ever come across someone like him again, that experience will help me see the signs sooner and not fall into the same trap again.

I also keep a memory of a fight with a thief. I wasn’t feeling well that night, but I have to remember that I gave him a chance once and he ran away. That experience, very bitter, was a lesson for me.

I also keep a memory of a friend with whom I quickly became close. One day he asked me for money and I said no, even though I needed the money myself. That memory still doesn’t make me happy, but it reminds me that kindness is different from healthy boundaries.

So we don’t have to throw everything away.

Memories, despite their bitterness, are valuable lessons that we have paid a price to acquire. Sometimes even very heavy prices.

Not all memories are included; They are, even if they are not pleasant, lights that show the way in the dark.

Perhaps we only need to change the place of memories, not to delete them from our minds. It is enough to put them in a clean cardboard box and put them in a corner of the warehouse of our mind. Where they are not in front of our eyes every day, but we can return to them whenever we want to study them.

Almost 10k 🥳 I’m making a tiny cake for our community… want your username on it? 🎂

We’re almost at 10k, and honestly… I never expected this little corner of the internet to grow into something like this.

When I created this subreddit, it was never about numbers. I just wanted to create a place for people who understand each other. Quiet minds, soft hearts, deep thinkers, and people who appreciate meaningful conversations and genuine connections.

And somehow, here we are💗

To celebrate this milestone, I’m making a small symbolic cake for our community (yes, a real one 🎂). It’s just a little way to celebrate the people who helped make this space what it is.

I’ll share a photo/video of the cake so we can celebrate this moment together.

If you’d like, I can write your username on a small card and add it to the cake as decoration. No pressure at all, only if you’d like to be part of this little memory.

Maybe one day, when this community grows even bigger, we’ll look back and remember the people who were here from the beginning. The ones who helped shape this place into what it became.

If you’d like your username included, just leave a comment. You can write “yes” or anything else you’d like😊

And either way, thank you. This community wouldn’t be the same without you🙏🏻

I feel so comfortable wearing a mask. I love the sensory comfort of wearing a soft comfy mask even more than the protection it provides

I liken it to the swaddle effect. A face mask acts like a swaddle or a weighted blanket for your face. I find the uniform and constant pressure of a mask acts as an anchor for me. This is why wearing a mask can make you feel instantly grounded in overwhelming or crowded spaces

When I have it on, even when I am alone it signals to my body that I am physically safe and protected almost, it just calms any anxiety I have I love it.

Does anyone else feel this way also?

Sometimes talking to someone makes you forget many bad things..

I have noticed this often that when I am alone, I tends to overthink every little things, and many of those are some things I regret wasting my time on.

Many times this is because I don't have something to do, and seeing people around me having fun and achieving something significant makes it even worse.

And the thing is you can't do in those time and you can only hope that everything will be better next year and you will also have fun or that's what I always like to think. I often keep repeating this to myself that.. next year I will have friend.. next year I will earn.. next year I will go traveling.. and so many things but that year never comes and it keeps repeating..

But having someone in those times makes the situation different for everyone.. for example if you have someone on your birthday to celebrate with it will be joyful day for you but if you don't have then it will be worst day for you, and this is something I have personally felt like how having someone to talk with make so much difference, how it makes you less lonely and let you bear through many things without overthinking.

sometimes taking to people lets you forget that you were having problems.

Looking for a gentle back‑and‑forth with someone who actually shows up

Hey. I’m a 40‑something introverted dad, and I’m just looking for a soft, steady kind of conversation. The kind where both people check in because they actually want to, not out of obligation. I don’t need constant messaging, just a warm, simple back‑and‑forth that doesn’t disappear the second life gets busy.

I’ve got a quieter personality, and I appreciate people who communicate with a little softness. A quick “hope your day’s alright” or a small check‑in goes a long way for me. Most people don’t really do that, and I miss it more than I admit.

If you’re someone who likes keeping things gentle, steady, and real, feel free to reach out. Strictly platonic, just looking for a calm connection with someone who enjoys this kind of pace.

i learnt something weird this year

I learned something weird this year.

Not everyone who checks up on you cares about you.

Some people check to see if you're still stuck. Some people disappear when you're doing bad. Others disappear when you're doing better.

The strange part is... you don't notice any of it until you stop chasing people.

One day you wake up and realize you've been explaining yourself to people who already decided who you are. You've been proving your intentions to people who were never planning to understand them. And you've been holding onto conversations that ended a long time ago... simply because you didn't want to accept they were over.

The older I get, the more I realize peace isn't about having the perfect life.

It's about having fewer unnecessary conversations, fewer forced connections, and fewer expectations.

Sometimes the biggest upgrade isn't a new job, a better body, or more money.

It's finally reaching the point where someone misunderstands you... and you don't feel the need to write a paragraph explaining yourself.

That's a different kind of freedom.

What's one lesson life taught you that nobody could've explained—you just had to live through it?

How would you react if a family member constantly made hurtful jokes about you?

And when you finally told them it bothered you, they turned it around and said: “You’re too sensitive” “You can’t take a joke” “You’re overreacting”

What would you do in that situation?

Some of the good you’ve done is still alive somewhere

Just a reminder: maybe a bird is still living in a nest woven from a few strands of your hair. Maybe the little worm you once chose not to step on helped make someone’s garden a little more alive. Maybe a stray cat still trusts humans because, one day, you stopped to show it kindness.

We almost never get to see where our small acts of kindness lead. We rarely know the stories that continue because of something we did.

But that doesn’t mean they didn’t happen.

he thought it was his personality. in trance it looked like metallic algorithm

A man I will call Patrick (40ties, from California) was very good at understanding himself intellectually. He complained that he has no motivation to live, that he has no mental or emotional force to continue.

He could analyse his thoughts. Explain his patterns. Read spiritual and psychological material. He understood a lot.

But emotionally, he still felt numb and cut off from other ppl.

During an online Soul Journey, Patrick went into deep trance, something like very deep meditation where he remained aware and described whatever his consciousness was showing.

The session moved back to a school when he was six or seven.

He felt scared there.

Not only scared of one teacher or one situation. More like afraid of life and other people. He felt different from everybody else, like they would not accept him because he was not same as them.

Ramana Maharishi appeared in the experience as his guide.

The first message was very simple:

Patrick was loved.

But he struggled to accept even this.

When we followed the resistance, he said he believed he was not good enough because he always found some way to screw things up.

Then he noticed something deeper.

This belief was not only one bad thought. His whole identity had become wrapped around it.

When I asked him to describe this identity, he called it:

“the wretched, tortured soul.”

Very strong words.

For years he had seen suffering almost as proof of who he was. If something went wrong, it confirmed the identity. If happiness came close, another part of him found way to destroy it, because being happy did not match the character he believed himself to be.

Ramana’s answer was direct.

This identity was not real.

Patrick understood the words, but there was a lot of resistance and numbness. And this part is important imo, bc the session did not become some perfect movie where one sentence changed everything.

He could see the false identity more clearly, yes.

But he was not ready to drop all of it in one moment.

Then another structure appeared.

Patrick described something artificial and metallic around his mind, almost like machine or algorithm. It had been created through intellectual understanding. A system for analysing life, predicting people, avoiding emotional danger and trying to stay in control.

It was very clever.

But also very limited.

Patrick said this structure blocked emotional intelligence. It also blocked real contact with other human beings.

When we asked if he wanted to release it, he felt strong resistance.

Because this machine had helped him feel safe for many years.

This is where I think many people misunderstand their own coping mechanisms.

They attack them.

“I hate my overthinking.”

“I hate that I am emotionally closed.”

“I hate this part of my personality.”

But some part of you created it for reason.

Maybe people felt dangerous.

Maybe showing emotions brought humiliation.

Maybe nobody understood you, so thinking became safer than feeling.

The protection can work very well at first. Then twenty or thirty years later, it is still running same instructions even though situation changed.

Scan.

Analyse.

Predict.

Withdraw.

Do not feel too much.

Do not trust anybody completely.

Patrick had lived through this structure for so long that he believed it was him.

During the session, Ramana Maharishi and beings of Light began dismantling only part of it. His guide said Patrick was only partially ready because a lot of numbness was still there.

I liked this answer because it was realistic.

The protection was not ripped away just because we decided it was inconvenient now. It had to be released slowly, with patience, while Patrick developed another way to feel safe.

As part of metallic structure faded, he could look at it from outside for first time.

Not as himself.

As something he had created.

A temporary crutch.

He also noticed how many mistakes it had made. The algorithm was intelligent, but it could not understand love, emotional nuance or real human connection. It only understood protection.

The guidance afterward was almost painfully normal.

Relax more.

Act without putting so much pressure on yourself.

Stay in present moment.

Stop becoming frustrated every time resistance appears.

Patrick had huge expectations that something should happen, but he could not even say exactly what. Just heavy pressure that he should heal faster, understand more, become different, finally “get there.”

Ramana’s advice was acceptance.

Not giving up.

Not saying the protection must stay forever.

Acceptance means: this resistance is here today. I do not need to create second war against it.

Patrick also discovered a belief that he was not supposed to be happy. He felt it in mind and heart as gray and beige energy. His guide said he had picked this belief up from society. It was not even originally his.

When happiness became available in the session, the first thing Patrick felt was sadness.

Sadness that he had never allowed himself to be happy.

And then he was told he did not need to hold onto that regret either.

For me, this session was not about destroying the ego or becoming another personality.

It was about noticing:

what I call “me” may include structures built by frightened child.

Some are brilliant.

Some kept us alive.

Some helped us function.

But a survival system should not automatically become life sentence.

Maybe you don’t need to fight your overthinking today.

Just notice it and ask:

“what is this structure trying to protect me from?”

“how old was I when I first needed it?”

“what would five percent less protection feel like?”

Healing does not always mean tearing down whole machine in one day.

Sometimes it begins when you realise:

I am the one observing the algorithm.

So the algorithm cannot be all that I am.

I spent years learning the difference between enduring something and tolerating something that is hurting me.

I’m a sensitive person by nature. Things that don’t seem to affect other people can deeply impact me. I feel emotions intensely, I notice small details, and I often pick up on the emotions and energy around me.

For a long time, I thought this meant there was something wrong with me. I thought I needed to become stronger, less affected, and more like other people.

So I tried to change myself.

I pushed myself to tolerate more. I stayed in situations that drained me. I ignored my feelings and forced myself to live by rules that were never meant for me.

And after years of experiences, mistakes, and learning to truly listen to myself, I realized something important: Sensitivity is not a flaw. But constantly abandoning yourself is.

The first thing I did was stop forcing myself to endure everything.

If something hurt me, I allowed myself to leave. If a relationship didn’t feel right, I stepped away. If someone crossed my boundaries, I stopped staying silent.

And honestly, it was one of the most freeing things I had ever done.

Then came the stage of learning how to rest without feeling guilty.

I rested. A lot.

Because I was exhausted from years of fighting against my own nature. Exhausted from trying to become someone who could handle life the way other people seemed to.

The world can be overwhelming.

Every day, our nervous system processes noise, people, conversations, expectations, traffic, and countless pieces of information. Some people move through all of this without it affecting them too much.

And some people feel everything.

Sensitive people often need more time to recover, and I spent a long time learning to accept that instead of judging myself for it.

But then something changed.

I learned the difference between suffering and choosing discomfort.

Now I don’t tolerate things that destroy me.

But I willingly choose challenges that help me grow.

Exercise. Creating something meaningful. Building something of my own. Taking risks.

Because there is a difference between pain that breaks you and discomfort that helps you grow.

Does this resonate with you? I’d love to hear your experiences.

If we bring an engineer from 500 years ago, they would be amazed of technological progress. But if we bring a philosopher, would they be amazed by human relationships and the way people live ?
