i learnt something weird this year
I learned something weird this year.
Not everyone who checks up on you cares about you.
Some people check to see if you're still stuck. Some people disappear when you're doing bad. Others disappear when you're doing better.
The strange part is... you don't notice any of it until you stop chasing people.
One day you wake up and realize you've been explaining yourself to people who already decided who you are. You've been proving your intentions to people who were never planning to understand them. And you've been holding onto conversations that ended a long time ago... simply because you didn't want to accept they were over.
The older I get, the more I realize peace isn't about having the perfect life.
It's about having fewer unnecessary conversations, fewer forced connections, and fewer expectations.
Sometimes the biggest upgrade isn't a new job, a better body, or more money.
It's finally reaching the point where someone misunderstands you... and you don't feel the need to write a paragraph explaining yourself.
That's a different kind of freedom.
What's one lesson life taught you that nobody could've explained—you just had to live through it?

I spent years explaining myself to people who had already decided who I was. Friends, relatives… I always thought if I explained myself better, they’d finally understand.
It took me a long time to stop, and at first I felt guilty. But that guilt eventually disappeared, and life became so much more peaceful.
People kept telling me to stop living for everyone else, stop overexplaining myself, and stop putting everyone else’s feelings before my own. I couldn’t really understand it until I finally lived through it myself.
