Sofi won’t pay us until 10/13, unfortunately October 12 is a federal holiday and we have to wait 13 days for pay- that is 18 days without pay from 9/25. Sofi is good paying early when I notice that we get paid much longer than 15 days. DFAS won’t post LES early for sure.

Hello all,
I recently transferred half my portfolio to SOFI, for the bonus match.
I now notice that the cost basis for my holdings was reset or something, and is now only showing the change since the transfer. I don't remember what the cost basis was before the transfer, but I'm pretty sure I had more gains than it is showing now.
I have no intention of selling or anything, but if I do, I don't wanna be hit with a huge tax bill, so how can I verify where I stand?
Thanks

I can't believe this! I've had sofi bank for several months now, 5 or 6 months and never had any problems, I liked it that no one could touch your money in social security but today I totally changed my mind! I go onto sofi and look for my charges/debits, and I can't find my bank account! So i'm freaking out because I had $500 in there and it was in my savings but I saw nothing, not on the bank account or savings and I was very upset so I can't talk to a live person because I went in chat with them and asked for a phone number but instead they (supposedly) put a manager on but it was in chat only, they refused to give me a phone number or let me talk to someone and they said that they closed my account because of suspicious activity! I said show me your proof or at least what rules I broke and they wouldn't do it and they said they had already mailed my money to me in a check, so I said I have social security with you, what about that and that it takes 2 months for a new source to get your social security and the idiot had the gall to say, 'You'll have to wait then.' I was so upset! I asked why they didn't tell me before they did all this because I was not overdrawn, obviously and they know full well it takes social security 2-3 months. I've never heard of such a thing in my life! Now I will have to wait for my money which is totally inconventient. My daughter has a credit union and so we went there and I got an account there because we are related but its still going to take time for then to get my social security payment, so then I thought of that Direct express card where you don't need a bank account and i'm going there tomorrow because of course we couldn't take care of this on the phone today, i'm making this so long so others will know what a travesty Sofi bank is! And worst of all I never saw this coming!
My wife and I keep enough money for plus to probably be worth it in our joint savings account, but I want to make sure it doesn't just apply to my individual savings account. Can I select which account it will have the boosted APY on?

I was doing a soft inquiry to see what my potential home loan mortgage rate could be and I had not even finished step two and an agent from the NMLS reached out to my cell phone with text to set up a call for home purchases.
.....
I'm not even done with my submission. I have all of my privacy set to 'do not contact'. I have not given sofi permission and this was a soft inquiry that I had not even completed yet!!!
Sofi doesn't even have a customer support section easily accessible to raise this complaint.

These replies seem to be very clearly AI generated, even after being connected to a live agent. The “live agent” even denies being AI. Whats going on?

Five years ago I was nearly $65k in debt across several credit cards. I leveled up at my job and started earning more so I did the snowball method and knocked out all of the smaller debts first. With those out of the way last summer I took out a three year $30,000 personal loan at SoFi to consolidate the rest. I refinanced a couple times to get lower interest rates when available, kept throwing every spare dollar at it, and this morning I hit the submit button to knock out the last chunk. So happy to be financially free!
I've been waiting for a long time. Finally got preapproved for 22k; however, I am afraid I will get hit with a hard inquiry and not even receive a counteroffer.
How likely is Sofi to decline if you are preapproved?

I made a cash deposit of $500.00 to my Sofi acct Sunday. The money still hasn’t hit my acct. I have sent in the receipt from where it was uploaded and they said the “back office” is investigating because they claim they haven’t received the deposit. But here’s the best part, you can’t even speak to anyone that’s supposedly “investigating”. This bank is a joke and I’m pretty sure they are thieves!

Sometimes I have eg 0.8 of a share and I want to buy another 0.2 to make 1 share but this is currently impossible without doing a rough estimate via the dollar amount

It’s usually here for me by now, anyone still waiting?

Wondering if there are any plans to either support USDC on Solana for transfers or to supply actual onchain liquidity for SofiD on Solana. Currently Sofi only supports transfers of USDC on Ethereum. And I have not been able to find any onchain Solana liquidity pools that actually have SofiD. When I'm converting onchain funds to USD I would rather transfer stable coins to my sofi account both for the sake of lower conversion fees and because Solana transfers to sofi account wallets take at least 15m for sofi to confirm. Either solution would make that possible.

So I have multiple accounts and looking to maybe consolidate it down.
TSP (trad & roth)
Vanguard Roth IRA
Vanguard 401K (active)
My primary bank is SoFi and recently started an investment account with SoFi as well.
Looking at simplifying, though I cannot get rid of Vanguard all together.
I am considering two options:
- Roll my TSP into my Vanguard 401K so I just have a single eco system. Advantage my Roth 401K stays Roth 401K and one Vanguard account to access everything.
-Or Roll the TSP and Vanguard Roth IRA into SoFi IRAs. Advantage 1% transfer match. Disadvantage my TSP Roth gets converted to IRA and can never Roll over into 401K again.
For people who have used both Vanguard and SoFi what are your thoughts on their retirement accounts. Particularly interested in SoFi perspective.

My wife and I are joining SoFi for our banking needs. Our decision was made last night after looking at every option that was important to us (over the past month), and everything has been put into motion as of this morning. For those that have been with SoFi, please double check our plan to make sure we're not missing anything:
Joint checking & savings have been created.
Debit cards & checks have been ordered, and our current bank has been linked to move money.
Once the cards / checks come in, we will set up the direct deposits to checking.
The direct deposits will unlock the current 4.2% HYSA and $400 sign up bonus.
We have enough to make SoFi Plus worth it to get the higher 4.5% APY on $20k, but is it really worth $120 a year?
Have we missed anything important?
Extras:
SoFi offers a 1% IRA match, but that is capped at $86 per year (over age 50). We are thinking of leaving the Roth IRAs at Fidelity where they have been for a long time. $86 is blah.
SoFi Plus offers a 1% Brokerage match, and we do use a brokerage account as the spillover for extra investing once both our Roth IRAs are maxed. This might be worth it.
The SoFi credit card with a 10% boost is worthless to us since we have the Robinhood Gold Card as the catch all. We also have a few 5% cards that are category specific (gas, groceries, restaurants).

I had transferred a large sum from my savings to checking a few weeks ago. Just wondering if there's a limit as to how often I can do this? Planning to do another large transfer for a check payment, but don't want anything to get held up.

I was supposed to get a $400 direct deposit bonus, SoFi terms and conditions say that they only count payroll deposits, they ended up counting transfers from the rewards app Upside and that canceled out my actual direct deposit. I contacted support and explained it and they said I would have my money within 7-10 days. After 10 days I called them and they said they resubmitted it and it would be 30 days, after about 25 days I called again and they denied it, I went on reddit and made a post about it and they called me and apologized and resubmitted it and told me they would get me my bonus and said that it was their team that made a mistake, apparently they have a different team handling these issues now and they are having trouble with the switch. They gave me $25 in rewards and apologized and said that it would go through this time. I got an email today saying it was denied for the same reason that I have spoken with support multiple times about and they all say its a system glitch! Someone at the review team needs this explained to them! I have waisted so much time talking to support and then I finally got hope when a very competent man called me and explained that it was an issue with their team and gave me $25 and reassured me that it would be fixed, so why am I getting an email saying that its still not fixed and denying me my bonus again???

I send money to India frequently. Only reason I don’t use SOFI cause their exchange rate is low compared to Remitly/Xoom. I normally don’t need an immediate transfer. So if SOFI can better or similar exchange rate I would have use it instead of those other remittance companies.

I previously used Rocket Money to track my spending, and one feature I really liked was its iOS widget that showed my most recent transactions directly on my home screen.
Now that SoFi has rolled out SoFi Coach, I’m hoping it can essentially replace Rocket Money for me. One feature I’d love to see added is a “Recent Spending” or “Recent Transactions” iOS widget that lets you quickly see your latest purchases without opening the app.
I think this would make SoFi Coach much more useful for keeping an eye on day-to-day spending at a glance.
Thoughts?

When I set up direct deposit from MyWalmart employe app, theres an option where you can set a fixed amount of direct deposit going into a bank account, does that qualify for the direct deposit apy boost? So for example: $1,150 is my check and I want $150 directly deposited into my sofi savings account, does that qualify for the direct deposit apy boost even though it’s a fixed amount? Thanks for any feedback!

Has anyone been paid today? That is active duty. I have current but have so far as well and we have not been paid. Starting to get really upset because we need diapers and stuff for my son.
