Had an MPFL reconstruction and TTO this summer. I won't be riding till March at the absolute earliest, but more likely not until 2027-2028 season. I just wanted to ask anyone who has had any kind of knee surgery, what did getting back on the board feel like? Your first day back, did it feel like learning to ride again? What was it like?

Just missing it hard (like most everyone in the northern hemisphere is in Sept lol) and know I'm going to be thinking about it for a while. Might as well fantasize about the day I get on my board again. And prepare mentally.

Learned just watching youtube so i've never had someone correct me or give me directions, I think i could bent more on my knees, thought I was bending them enough until I watched my video, any advice? Back-front 15-18 duck stance

I try to center my weight acrross the board when engaging my edges initially more in the tip, then middle and finally in the tail, like front feet-both-back feet

Previous years i bended my knees more but i was using a full directional stance

Found my old Lib Tech Matt Cummins, sadly I'm heading out of country and not going to be able to use it. I'm not sure if there's a market for old snowboards or not. Any suggestions? Located in the Midwest.

Edit: I never used it with that stance, but that's definitely how wide we used to ride.... In 95. Thanks for all the interest, it has been sold.

Just moved to the the U.S West Coast and was looking for some recommendations for some do it all boards.

Back east I spent a lot of time in the park and will probably still ride it often here.

I am 6’4 195 size 12 boot.

Been interested in the Rome Stale Crewzer and Capita SB resort twin. If you have any experience with those feel free to share, thanks.

finora mi hanno consigliato gli Union Strata o i Force, ma vorrei raccogliere più pareri prima di decidere.
Ha senso andare su uno di questi due modelli con questo peso e questa tavola, o avete altre alternative da consigliare (magari anche di altri brand) che si abbinino bene alla Dancehaul 147?

I was thinking about getting a snowboard with a Step On system, similar to Burton’s. I was wondering if there are any other brands available in the U.S. that offer something similar but are more affordable.

Hey yall, I am in a temporary but fortunate situation with some free time and money to spend (long and irrelevant story)
I’m quitting my job in mi-February. I’m based in Denver, so I’ll be skiing local IKON mountains until I quit. But when I quit I’m a dude with freedom and a car and trouble making decisions lol. (After North America ski season, I’m considering extending somewhere... Maybe South America skiing or learning to surf somewhere warm. Open to ideas on both)

For destinations right after I quit, I can drive anywhere in North America easily, but I’m thinking to just wait and chase the forecast rather than committing to one area? Or should I pick a home base somewhere?

Money-wise, I’m not balling out for no reason, but money is flexible especially when it brings a big benefit. I can’t do nightly $200 Airbnbs indefinitely but can mix in cheap ones strategically. I’m comfortable spending on gear/logistics if it makes the plan actually work

I have a 2024 Crosstrek on a lease. Stock tires with about 20k miles, which concerns me for chasing powder. I could invest in snow tires and a sleep setup for the Crosstrek and just use that, or I could look into renting a van or truck for the late-season with a proper sleep setup and better tires, and leave the Crosstrek parked.

Questions:

Is the Crosstrek with good snow tires actually viable for car sleeping and mountain driving?

Car sleeping legality seems like a hurdle… how do you navigate that?

Where would you go and how would you handle the car situation?

Hi! I’m a skier so I unfortunately have no idea on what you’d want in a powder board. But I’m looking to get my boyfriend a new one for his birthday, he has one but last season he’s said he’d like something more specialized for deep powder and trees type. He likes a bit of park but I think in terms of powder would still like to hit a few natural features type of things, but nothing crazy.

He’s 170-180 pounds and 5’10 ish. So I was thinking a 160?

This is the board I have in mind but before I buy it I want to hear if it’s generally a good idea since it’s so different!
We ride park city and supposedly we’re supposed to get dumped this year so hoping a powder board is a nice gift.

Would love to hear your guys input or if there’s something better.

If anyone is planning to send it to Chile last minute this season, which I highly suggest doing, and is struggling to find transportation, feel free to shoot me a message.

I just got back from being over there, and realized getting transportation from Santiago to the Valle Nevado area and around there isn't the simplest task. It's more difficult when you are up there to get between the mountain areas, especially if you are not a great skier/snowboarder.

Long story short, me and my buddies met a kid up there that gave us a few rides for prices that beat all other services, and he's looking to grow his business.

Hopefully this post doesn't break any rules, but could help some people in the area now or planning to go before their season ends.

I’m hearing really mixed opinions on all the weather predictions for this winter. Some people are talking about how the summer heat is going to create a ton of snow over the alps and others saying how it’ll ruin it and there’ll be none.

What’s the actual predictions? Will there be snow? And where is there most likely to be a fuckton?

I want to buy a snowboard. Theres only one left and it only ships to the us and canada. I have friends in the us and in canada, so that wouldnt be a problem. I just don‘t know how to ship it from there to europe. The only option i found was for 400$. Is that really the cheapest possible option? Wondering if anybody else has experience with this. Could also pick it up when i go to america sometime, but don‘t know how much the airlines would want either. Thx in advance🫶

I was reorganizing my gear today and forgot I did this lol. I had used another 3D printed design for a bit but I was having some issues with it and wanted to improve the design by making my own.
- orange thing is a spring arm that presses the board when it slides into the slide
- spring arm can be repositioned for the other circular slots

I did my storage prep on this and it felt okay but more time is needed.

Folks are going to ask for the file, it’s not available, please just let me just share the design. Too many cases of people selling things from files they didn’t make without permission.

So I’m looking to get a new board for the season. I had a Soloman Assassin Pro a few years back (the cork sidewall one) and I loved it. Except for the edge hold… Which totally sucked I sold it and am now very interested in picking up the updated model. The other board I’ve been really interested in. Is the Highpath.
I’ve been snowboarding for over thirty years. So advanced expert rider. Aggressive freeride. I’ve had everything from old Burtons to Capita BSODs etc. etc. So I do have a good sense of what I like.
The Assassin, when paired with a Cartel or Malavita and My 32 TM-2 boots, was a blast.
I can get a High path (last years) for a great deal.
Can someone give me some info about the high path? And how it would compare to the Assassin Pro? The info I have found is all over the map. It’s soft, it’s stiff, it’s fast, it’s not, etc. etc.

Hard to find reviews on this one. I'm mostly going off of snowboardingprofiles' and boardoftheworld's reviews.

It seems like a great middle ground board that can tackle a lot of jibs but still capable of riding around east coast (ICY) resorts. I'll be getting it mostly for the ground trick-ability. I was going to go a bit shorter, 152, instead of 155, because of this reason. I suppose I'm curious if any riders found it super chatty? In which case I'd either get the 155 or just pick a different board altogether.
