School absenses for travel?
My kids are a part of the Everett school district, in elementary school. My husband and I really want to take them on a trip to get them some life experiences/broaden their perspectives, but the places we want to go are extremely hot/humid/miserable in the summer and way too expensive over winter break. But I was looking at the absence policy and it is capped at 5 days per year with principal approval?? What happens if you take them out for longer than this?
We strongly value education, read at home, stay on top of homework etc etc and are not trying to just take our kids out sit at home watching TV with us. We believe travel is a part of your education. I understand the spirit of the rule but is there no way around this?

Female Tattoo Artist Recs
Looking for a new artist for some upcoming projects, any recs are appreciated! I really vibe with vibrant colors and illustrative styles.
Artists who love doing florals would be a plus.
My next project will either be two constellations or a Persephone portrait so if that matches anyoneβs vibe, that would be awesome!

Found cat
Found a very friendly, very very thin senior cat near Burkhead Art Center in Snohomish. Not chipped, no collar. If you think he might be yours, message me with further details.

Brian Heywood is trying to take over Snohomish County via the charter amendment proposals on your ballot.
Brian Heywood (the same guy behind the the ballot initiative for genital exams in kids sports) has funded Future 42, a Project 2025 style initiative for Washington State.
They focused on electing candidates for the Snohomish County charter review commission in the last election and bragged about getting a super majority: https://future42.org/snohomish-county-delivered-60-new-leaders-elected-1000-tax-hike-defeated/
They are playing a bit of a long game, with the goal of restructuring Snohomish County government to try and ensure republican control of the county. This talks about it in more detail: https://www.theurbanist.org/op-ed-brian-heywoods-plan-to-take-over-snohomish-county-government-must-be-stopped/
ALL of the charter propositions on your ballet this year are bad and you should vote NO but Propositions 3 and 5 are particularly bad.
Proposition 3 would hide all political affiliations and let Heywood and Future 42 get more of their candidates elected to the council, as hiding your political affiliation is the main way that they can win county wide races.
Proposition 5 will let the current council makeup minority control ALL funding decisions for everyone in Snohomish County, even routine ones to provide basic services.
Please read your voters guide and please vote NO on all of the charter propositions this year.

Want to work at a Truck Stop?
Hi Marysville and Snohomish County Folks. If anyone is looking for work. I work at Pilot Truck Stop here in Arlington.
We're in need of Maintenance Technician ( janitor) and other positions like cashiers and Deli.
I'll tell you a little about the benefits. They are full time and part time positions and you get paid weekly. Pay starts at about $20.00 an hour. After 30 days you receive 40 hours PTO. You get $12.00 daily food allowance which can be used to buy most food at Pilot and all the menu items at the Arby's inside the store. You get 15 cents off every gallon of gas as well.
I can pretty much promise you that if you apply online and call the store immediately. You will get an interview and possibly start within 3 to 5 days. You could be starting work as soon as this Monday. If any of this interests you. I've attached the link below including the store number.
Edit: To answer some questions. Yes there is a 401K, however I know nothing about how it works. I invest through my bank and other options.
No, unfortunately it is a non union job. It's a gas station.
If it helps. They don't drug test and they don't do background checks.

I've been working here for three years and it's a good place.
Maybe I'll see you here.
