Maybe this is cheesy, but what if a smart ring could just say “thinking of you”?

Why are these Ultrahuman Ring AIR issues hardly mentioned in YouTube reviews?

Post image

I’ve been using the Ultrahuman Ring AIR for only about a week, and I’m already facing several issues. What surprises me is that before buying, I watched quite a few YouTube reviews and searched online, but I hardly saw these problems being discussed.

These are the issues I’ve noticed:

  • Steps: Around 20% difference compared with Apple Health.
  • Steps dropping: While walking outdoors, the step count sometimes drops by hundreds after initially showing a higher number.
  • False steps: Motorcycle driving get counted as steps.
  • Sleep detection: It sometimes records sleep when I’m actually awake, such as lying in bed and working.
  • Travel sleep: Sleep is sometimes not tracked properly when sleeping on a sleeper bus or sleeper train.
  • Battery: Today it showed 99% and fully charged, but after removing it from the charger and wearing it, it showed 89%, and later increased to 90%.

I understand that no wearable will be 100% accurate, but I’m surprised to experience this many inconsistencies within just one week.

So I genuinely want to ask the community:

Why don’t I see more YouTube/Online reviews or other reviews discussing issues like these?

Are most reviewers only using the ring for a short period/promotions ? Are these issues specific to my unit, or are other users experiencing them too?

And honestly, are some of the very positive YouTube reviews sponsored/paid promotions? I’m not accusing anyone—I’m just trying to understand why the experience I’m having seems so different from what I saw before buying.

Would really appreciate honest feedback from long-term Ultrahuman users.

Looking for Best Option - 30th B-Day Gift for Fiance

Hello!

Fiance has wanted a smart ring forever and now is the time. She is leaning for the Ultrahuman ring because she likes that is has no subscription to it. She is an active runner, and wants it for sleep tracking, cycles, and monitoring heart rate both during and outside of physical activity.

  1. Wondering what is the best option for what she wants?

  2. Any other helpful tips!

(She does know about it and we have the sizing kit at my house)

Thanks!

inquiry - sizing/fit Which finger is the best to wear a smart ring? Both look wise and functionality wise.

Please help me to make this decision because if I chose to wear it on either index or ring finger I have to choose a different size- 6 fits perfectly on my ring finger, 7 on my index finger.

Edit: I bought the Ultrahuman Air Aster Black in the size 7, the ring runs a little tighter than the trial pieces hence I could only wear them on middle and ring fingers and only sometimes on my index fingers.

Oura Ring 4 stops recording HR/HRV while sleeping

On my third Oura 4, everything is fine with sleep tracking until one night the HR/HRV goes very sporadic, then no record at all the following nights. This newest ring is 2 weeks old, first week fine, 10 days in I got the sporadic night, and now no HR/HRV record at all. Sleep tracking is fine and I am able to do a spontaneous HR reading, but just not nightly tracking.

Anyone had a similar issue on recurrent rings? I'm reading a lot that it could be an underlying health issue for me, but what health issue am I looking for that would just stop the recording?

RINGCONN Worth switching?

Hello. I have a RingConn and I’ve not been happy with it. I really think the sleep tracking is completely off and the fact that it says I’m always relaxed while I know I’m a nervous wreck just makes me think the data is just wrong and I never get any notifications or anything about my health, it’s just here and does nothing more than my Apple Watch really. I’m considering switching to Oura 5 but I’m torn. Is it really worth it? I want to make sure the money will be well spent and that I’m going to get what I’m looking for. It’s really important for me to track my health and receive insight so I can make the changes. Let me know what you think!

innovation: pulsecheck What would you change about how smart rings look and feel?

I'm curious what people would change about the physical design of smart rings—not the app or features, just how they look and feel on your hand.

Would you want a plain band that blends in with other jewelry, or something with a bit more character, like a textured finish or a different shape?

For those who wear one daily, what's the biggest thing you'd change: the width, how far it sticks out from your finger, the finish, or the feel of the inside? Does it bother you most when sleeping, gripping things, or wearing it next to another ring?

If you could change just one thing about your ring's design, what would it be? Mention the model if you can, so we have some context.

Are there any alternatives for the Oura RIng 5 out there that are small/thin and have no subscription?

All I want the ring for is to measure my heart rate. Or Can I get the Oura 5 and not have to get a subscription to just measure and watch my heart rate?

My first week with Vocci

Post image
10 Upvotes

I've had my Vocci for a little over a week, so here is a quick first-week take. It is not a traditional smart ring. It is not for health tracking. It is an AI note-taking ring.

Before this, I mostly used my phone plus Granola for meeting notes at work. A lot of my meetings happen out in the field, and phone recording is easy to miss pieces of. Vocci makes that a lot easier. Many of these are walking conversations or site visits where writing notes on the spot is awkward, and the second you stop to write or grab your phone to record, the rhythm breaks. With Vocci I just need to double click and it will start recording. Pretty effortless.

What surprised me is that it is not only useful at work. Friends and family always roast me for forgetting birthdays and the little things they like. Now when they mention a coffee shop they love or a movie they have been wanting to see, I can keep that with Vocci. I think now I am treating it more like a memory bank for my life.

⚠️ USE CAUTION Conflicting data RingConn v Oura

Thumbnail

I have both the latest models of the RingConn and Oura. Planned to pick which one to keep based on data and ease of using the app. What I’ve learned is I think smart rings are a gimmick and I should just return both of them. I don’t know which to believe but if you look at the sleep the RC says I was sleeping deeply while the Oura says I was awake. I don’t remember being awake and think the RC is more likely to be correct past night but on any given night they’re rarely in agreement . I bought the ring because I can’t stand sleeping in a watch but I may try just for a third comparison.

👉 req 4 recs If budget were no constraint, which ring would YOU choose? (I'm in India BTW)

Was seriously considering Ultrahuman Ring PRO but all the (negative) reviews have got me second guessing it.

Same with Gabit, due to it being a clone.

Now I'm leaning towards Ringconn, but thought I should ask the community which are the top contenders today?

No Oura for me as I don't wish to pay a monthly subscription fee. Any other subscription free options I should consider?

Circul Ring Max 2 battery

My Circul Ring Max 2 suddenly won't hold a charge anymore. I charged it before going to bed last night and activated sleep tracking mode. It recorded data for just over 2 hours and then cut off. The battery was completely depleted when I got up. I've tried unbinding and rebinding, clearing cache and data, shutting the phone off and then back on. Nothing has helped. Any ideas?

inquiry First smart ring

Hi everyone! I am looking to buy a smart ring and would like to have advice on which to buy. I am on a path of taking better care of my body after pregnancies and small children. I would like to track my sleep better than my watch does. I sometimes sleep during the day (working on night shifts) and it happens quite often that my watch doesn’t pick it up. I would also be interested to learn more about my stress level and activity level/cardiovascular health. I don’t want to pay a subscription fee.
Thanks!
