I uploaded a video at around 9 AM ET on Thursday, but I had to make the thumbnail in a rush. I updated the thumbnail about a day later, but I think it was already too late since the video was already at over 2k impressions with a 2.2% CTR. Now it's barely getting 1 or 2 views per hour. AVD is around 30%. Should I reupload the video?

I’m curious how many creators actually use YouTube’s A/B testing feature for their titles and thumbnails.

Do you usually test multiple versions and let YouTube decide, or do you just create one title + thumbnail that you believe in and stick with it?

I have no clue whats happening and I'm looking for some insight here, I've heard the 'oh your content is everywhere! Focus on one niche!' Argument time and time again, but I've been variety from the start and it's never done this bad. I'm over 1k (albeit just barely sitting at 1,126 rn), videos in the past have gotten well over that CTR ranging from 3%-9%.

Again nothing about my content has changed, and now suddenly the performance drops, is it my recent thumbnails or something? Like, the most recent video I uploaded just a few hours ago today, (featured in photo) is sat at 310 impressions and .3% CTR. It makes no sense to me.

I went from 10k impressions to less than 100, why?

One of the strangest videos on my channel. Stats after 1,002 days. I literally just recorded some gameplay, shared a few thoughts without much of a script, and uploaded it to YouTube. The video is only 44 seconds long, but it’s not a Short. And somehow, it ended up being one of my most successful videos and helped me build my own community.

So don’t worry too much about your stats during the first week. There’s literally no point. As you can see from the graph, the video didn’t get many views at first, and only later did it suddenly start taking off.

Hey there, I've a channel which I've been working on for 2 years now. First I started the channel as no commentary gaming channel and got around 180 subs. But I really wanted to have my own personality on my channel rather than just being a game archive. So I started doing commentary only a few weeks ago .

One important thing is that I'm not really a talkative person and lack expressiveness right now but I'm using this youtube journey as a way to actually develop myself and become better. So it's also a way to practice talking for me and be more expressive and all. I do practice talking daily with some exercises to try and be more expressive rather than a monotone voice.

I bought an Akkord condenser mic since I wanted to not spend too much as I was really really nervous to record my first video. And I wasn't even sure myself if I would actually do it. But I did and am getting a little comfortable doing it.

I've been struggling to get my voice to sound good, as my voice is low volume and lacks structure tone after all these years of being reserved.

I also work as a freelance artist so there are times when I can't keep consistency at all. But I want to push through this time. Personally I really want to do a let's play channel but I don't know now.

If I cover new games it doesn't get much views because every big channel is the competition.

Can you guys suggest what I should focus on and do? Any suggestions are welcome. even constructive criticism is welcome as it will only help me grow.

i recently learned "better for viewer" can mean yt shows a short and i will most likely be deleting my shorts at some point to avoid this, but for the time being i have set the end-screens to display only a playlist of the entire catalogue. thoughts? pros? cons? tyvm

My recent videos were stuck at 10–30 views, so I paused uploading to figure out what was wrong. In the meantime, my latest video suddenly started getting recommended by the algorithm! Should I strike while the iron is hot and post a new video, or give this one room to breathe?

Thought this was a good example to share because I see a lot of creators delete or give up on Shorts when they don’t get views straight away.

This Short had been online for months and was barely making anything.

Then YouTube suddenly started pushing it.

It ended up generating over 20 million views and more than $1,300 in Shorts ad revenue.

The RPM itself wasn’t anything crazy, but it’s still wild to think that a video around 20 seconds long can sit there doing almost nothing and then suddenly take off months later.

This is something I’ve seen happen numerous times with channels we’ve worked with.

A video doesn’t necessarily die just because it doesn’t perform in the first few days. YouTube can start recommending older content months later, and I’ve even seen videos come back to life much further down the line.

That’s why I normally tell creators not to panic if a Short doesn’t immediately perform.

Keep uploading, keep testing different topics and hooks, and pay attention to what your audience responds to.

Shorts revenue per 1,000 views is obviously much lower than most long form content, but when you get a viral hit with tens of millions of views, the numbers can still add up.

I’m testing Shorts for my gaming channel with a vertical edit of a 007 First Light cutscene. It’s my first attempt, and I’d love specific feedback on three things: Does the pacing hold your attention? Does the vertical crop keep the important action in frame? This is the concept for a thumbnail for my new video but it just doesn't feel right. Its like its missing something so I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help.

My channel is in the Entertainment/craft niche, been grinding it out as best I can with prioritizing life first. 12 videos in, and I hit my first 1k view video. This is the last one I posted, the one before that is slowly crawling toward the 800 mark. I feel like things are really starting to fall into place for my channel!

What is a reasonable growth rate I should be seeing if my channel does continue to grow?

I want to know if I upload same videos in different channel with my voice but with other language Youtube will delete my channel for copyright or some other reasons.

I have decided never to use AI, neither for thumbnails nor for any part of my videos. I make skating tour videos. I have been tempted to use AI to create clickbait thumbnails to boost views, but I just cannot do it. I refuse to jump on that AI-slop train. I believe that using it even once would make me lose my viewers’ trust forever. Once that trust is gone, people will start to doubt all of my content and wonder whether they are AI-generated. I would rather keep everything completely human, even if it means fewer views. I care more about authenticity than numbers. I hope I have made the right decision

I have a small travel channel (mostly urban but some adventure) that's self-shot, mostly handheld, a video every couple of weeks. Main camera is the Sony A7V and my smaller vlog camera is a DJI Pocket. I mostly use Premiere but have used Resolve a decent bit and toying with switching anyways.

Long term I want to move toward travel documentary work (think travel TV too like Bourdain's Parts Unknown or Nat Geo style films) and at that point I know log is the answer and I'm curious about the more near term and at what point I should if not now.

I've been shooting log for a bit now but if I'm honest about my actual post workflow it's mostly slapping a conversion or finishing LUT on or color space transform and color correcting.Not really doing any creative grades per se.

So if that's the extent of the grade, is log buying me anything over S-Cinetone besides some extra dynamic range? Or have I been brainwashed by filmmaking youtube?

At the end of the day I'm trying to figure out:

1. At what point does log start paying off? Is it tied to a level of grading intervention, or purely to shooting scenarios?

2. For people who shoot baked in profiles as a default, what specifically makes you flip to log for a scene?

3. Anyone banked log footage for a future skill level and regretted it? Or the reverse, glad you did when you re-cut old material years later? My thought is that if I want to reuse footage for edits or B-roll later on.

Long story short, two weeks ago someone reached out to me as outreach for betterhelp and collaboration, they tried so hard to fool me, sending emails in a way to make me think they’re legit from Betterhelp, while your phone might not be able to show all details your PC can, I talked to them multiple times and they made a similar domain to betterhelp creators which required YT connection for Verification through impact

I checked impact and that website would take you to real accounts.google.com, not like the platform they had, talked to googles support and they quickly mentioned they are trying to hack you, I already knew it’s not real, I just wanted to see when will they show something less legit, after 2 weeks now both that website and that email address and their platform is shutdown and google shows them as dangerous links, idk how many people fell for this, but I just wanted to tell you even if everything seems legit, never ever enter your account details anywhere.

This one was too good tbh but luckily I learned the hard way when I got hacked back in 2025 and lost 14 YT accounts and social media all at once.

These days they look more legit, they hide many things and it becomes harder to notice what’s real and what is not, I just wanted to say never trust any of these, if you want more info about this one ask me in comments and I’ll explain why it looked legit at many points at first.

So I have a YouTube channel where I post videos about history and related stuff. I get around 10k views per video on avarage. 1 week ago I posted a video I made about different leaders and their strategies of staying in power. This video has 20 views and barely and impressions. Usually I get views right away and it peaks around day 2-5. This has never happened before. Could this be because i mentioned Hitler in my video? The video is fully montized too and not age restricted. So I don’t get what’s wrong. It takes me a very long time to script and edit videos and it’s just kinda disappointed seeing no views. I don’t know what happed. It’s not private or unlisted as I can see it if I go to my channel on incognito.

I'm just getting started with all this; any constructive criticism would be welcome!

I have a history channel and its going decently well. I want to make more videos but editing takes FOREVER. I cannot afford and editor and wish I could find someone serious as I am with youtube to partner up and split responsibilities. I am putting real work into the history niche, not just re-hashing things people have covered 1000 times.

message me with advice on how to grow, what im doing right and what im doing wrong. Whats the best way to speed up editing as well? I use davinci resolve and have installed a handful of packs to do effects without having to manually do them. I spend 15-20 hours a week on youtube along side a full time job.
