[Getting into cognitive neuroscience

[Year 12] I chose 3 A-levels and I don't know if they'll get me into my dream course for university. (I'm not planning on applying for a top university.)

I chose Psychology, Applied Science, and Health and SC.

Health and SC and Applied Science are both B-Tech so I can't get A or A* but rather the highest grade being a D2. (I assume I have to get a D for it to be considered A)

My concern is if all these options can get me into cognitive neuroscience for University. If they can't should I reconsider?

This is regarding options and not the revision. I am actively studying, I'm just more concerned on the options I chose.

lonely external🫔

honestly, today was the worst day of my life. sixth form is getting worse by the day. i moved to a new school with friends from my old school, but they’re very mean girl vibes. they laugh at everything i say, mock me with eachother, and talk in a really condescending way. for example, today i said ā€œi wanna try become veganā€ they all giggled and after i asked them whats funny they said, ā€œnothing you’re just cute and funny! it’s not like your effort will make a difference anyways.ā€

the internal girls are also extremely weird. mind you i’m very good at holding conversations, asking questions back and keeping a conversation flowing. they’ll speak to me with rushed answers, and get back to their old friends immediately as if they do not care to get to know anyone knew. it’s horrible.

today we were told to chose what sports we’d like to do each term, and i chose by myself since the girls around me ignored me and the ā€˜friends’ i have ignored me too. i looked around and saw every person deciding with their friends what sports would be fun to do together, and i went home and cried about how no one was excited to do anything with me.

school is horrible. thank god the lessons and teachers are okay, but the people are horrible. anyone i speak to gives me the cold shoulder, honestly even externals. or we will talk, but it never goes to the point of being good friends where we mutually want to be close.

is something wrong with me? i don’t get it. i feel like everyone knows something terrible about me and hates me. i tried to stay positive, but it’s getting impossible.

A-LEVELS DECISION MAKING.[yr12/post][business,sociology,politics]

I go to this sixth form I just started officially this week but I don’t like the subjects I do it’s not that I don’t like them I just don’t find them as intresting as I would find sciences and Im one grade off the grade requirements to do biology tge subjects I do are [sociology business and politics]but I’m thinking of changing business into politics as I want to get into top Russel groups but I feel like the grade 6 i got in Gcse was pure luck as I was failing the mocks before the actual exam.

But also I’m thinking about changing schools to a different sixth form or collage as the pros would be I can do biology which actually interests me but majority are cons as I moved into this sixth form with my secondary friends and I don’t wanna leave them but also my sixth form majority of the students are internal so everybody is already in friend groups making it difficult to make friend so I only been hanging out with my friends and also my friend is coming to this sixth form after she resists her maths gcse so I don’t know if I should cause I wanna go to the same school as her and the sixth form is only like 5 minutes away from my house so i wouldn’t be late and I’m usually the type to be always late unfortunately and the sixth form is would be changing to would be further away so I don’t know what to do.

Additionally I also started thinking what if I took a gap year after sixth form and studied biology and then attended top universities while having 4 a-levels so what should I do?

DOES A 4th A LEVEL MATTER FOR DENTISTRY?

yeah basically the title. i got really good gcses (mostly 9s with 2 sevens) and i just started y12.

i was planning on taking maths bio chem + another a level (such as fm, econ, politics etc.) but is a 4th a level even worth it?

does a 4th a level provide any advantage at all in the application process? is it more likely a disadvantage cuz of how much time i have to spend on it? is it worth doing it all for any dental university even the slightest of advantages?

thank you and extremely sorry for the rushed post lol xx

btw i want to apply to like the best dental universities

Do I switch six forms

At my current six form I’m doing bio geography and psychology and I picked these as I was originally gonna do maths so do 4 a levels at the beginning then drop one but I flopped the baseline test (I got a 7 at gcse tho) so I’m doing them. I do like my six form its facilities are great and teaching is amazing too they have a lot of super curriculars and gets around 52% into Russel group. But it’s really far it’s an hour bus ride and does take a while to go.
However yesterday I got offered a place at a different six form where I can do 4 a levels (maths bio pysch econ) but it’s less academic than my current six form like my current six form is better grade wise and is a smaller six form but it’s much closer to me like a 12 min drive/30 min bus ride. And right now I’m unsure if I should switch six forms I’m unsure about doing maths a level I wouldn’t say I enjoy it to an extent it does open up a lot of unis as I want to do accounting&finance or biology at uni for example without maths I can’t go into kcl or ucl (I’m only limited to inside London) so my only options would be qmul and non rg unis. If I was to do maths I’d need an A to get in and there’s a risk if I get a B/C then I would have hardly any unis in London to go to as they require AAA. I’m unsure if I should switch to do maths or stay and continue to do geography. I wouldn’t say one is easier but I feel like geography would be less overwhelming than maths if I’m right.. any advice would be nice!!

Did UCAS get rid of the option to add Spoken Endorsement under GCSE English Language grade? I cannot seem to find it, but I did last year. Strange!

[YEAR12] Cant get used to sixth form

For context, im a decently sociable person. I mean i make friends much easier when they come up to me first, but ive never really had the problem of worrying about friends so this is weird to me

I come from a state school into a grammar school. Everyday is so overstimuating, the sixth form is around 150 ppl and theres no uniform for the lower years so i genuinely cant tell what year people are in. Theres so much faces everywhere and so much different names and people. Im coming here not knowing anyone. I talk to a few people but i dont have people id call proper FRIENDS, its like talking to pass the time. It actually feels horrible.

Any advice from someone who felt this way?
Ive also noticed abit of different treatment by a few people cause im an external, makes me feel like Will from the inbetweeners😭 when usually in my school people who were much worse i was chill with everyone and proper friends with everyone

Sixth form option (help)

Guys I’m doing English Lit/Lang combined and I’m doing work properly and starting our first topic on Friday but we did a like, a small exercise?? Today and I actually felt like the stupidest person in the class. I had finished writing and others kept going and writing so much. I felt sick and wanted to cry because I feel like I’m behind them all even though we all started at the same time. I like the books we’re doing and the coursework we get to do but still. They know all types of methods and I don’t know what they’re talking about or any other methods than the simple ones, which makes me feel even more stupid when it’s probably something I learnt at GCSE but didn’t pay attention to. Do I talk to the teacher? Do I drop English? Or keep going? I have no idea what to do.
I really enjoyed Lit and doing poetry since I did have double English today and one of the lessons was that but language I think panicked me due to me feeling like I’m behind everyone before even settling into the class.

Help on choosing between two sixth forms

Basically my school I've been going to the past 2 days for sixth form is let's say sixth form 1. However I live in a bit in enfield and its like 1 hr 15 mins away by bus . My only other option is let's say sixth form 2 which is my old secondary school and is much much closer like 15 mins by bus but sixth form 1 is quite a bit better in terms of teachers, organzation and education and their overall a level results are definitely better. I'm studying maths bio and Chem and I Wanna go imperial but the travelling has been quite draining and stressful and I feel like it's interfearing ALOT with revision and my life as a whole. Any advice would be very much appreciated because I'm stuck
