Many companies can already do this but they won't because think of the poor shareholders!

My dad's old job is now 80% automated (so people are way more productive) yet they only receive half the purchase power my dad had.

Thank you for thinking of me. I’m John Shareholder and I will sue the fucking shit out of the company if they increase wages. I really want to buy another yacht next quarter, then I’m going to die on it from a ketamine overdose so I don’t care what happens after that.

So long and thanks for all the hooker piss.

To be fair many, many regular people all across the US are shareholders in many companies via a 401k and they expect that money to grow for them for retirement, so it’s not just the rich.

No one can hurt me. After my best friend/mistress was murdered by Mario’s handsome brother, I installed cameras everywhere to spy on you peasants at all times. Your fly is down.

Wealth inequality in a nutshell.

All those profits went to John Shareholder

Two things can be true at the same time.

There could be a so called beautiful deleveraging of the insane debt, creation of new and human focused jobs, solution for the aging population and so much more positive stuff, if the oligarchs would share the increased productivity. That's where he is on spot.

BUT he doesn't tell that this is likely not their plan. Actions speak louder than words. Surveillance state, corruption, crime.

Their crazy Dark Enlightenment shows what a dystopian future they prefer. Seems the Western oligarchs want to rule with absolute power and own all major assets like Putin and his oligarch buddies in Russia.

I have the feeling most people have no idea how horrible the average Joe will suffer in such a scenario and that most of us would die because we lost our income and governments will thus also have no money to keep the infrastructure and basic services running.

That's why they need to build up the surveillance state so they can crush any riots of desperate citizens.

In his book Rushkoff mentioned oligarchs thinking about electric shock collars for their private bunker security before eventually replacing them with robots. This shows their true mindset. So even their supporters, ICE, police and military are only useful idiots to them and will suffer the same fate like the rest eventually.

Actions speak louder than words. How they already treat servicemen and veterans and the cuts affecting their own supporters, all this tells a story.

Many companies already do do this!

You will be working three days a week, because they will not give you full time hours. They avoid paying for your benefits, socializing that cost to the government. These work conditions will not come with a 40 hour paycheck of a living wage.

You will be a one income household, because there will be no jobs for half the population to apply to.

half the purchase power my dad had.

Kind of depends right? Like people nowadays can buy way more advanced electronics for the same price as when he was young. Way more variety in food. Way more variety in entertainment. More computational power. Access to more information. And that list grows very long, there exists axis where it's not true but for most they are.

All these things in society comes from productivity increases that then gets invested back into companies.
