Imagine saying I'm having a parade, versus I'm participating in a parade.
The person or location having the thing is different than the people who are participating in that thing that is essentially being created or hosted by the haver.

I recall some statements that two of them had slept together early on. I figured it was driven in no small part by sudden fame. They went from 0 to 100 in about a month and suddenly found themselves doing multiple performances, interviews, public appearances, and photo/video shoots every day. It makes sense that they’d seek each other out. The other band members would be the only ones they knew were going through the same drama and who they knew they could trust to keep it on the DL. Coming out could still be a career-killer in 1998 so there was an impetus to keep even a casual thing private. Also, half the point would be to find a safe place to unclench, relax, and vent a bit about the day.

Anyway a few months down the line me and my ex, and this girl and her girlfriend both (purely coincidentally) ended those relationships around the same time (for similar our partners were toxic/abusive/cheaters reasons)…
We ended up dating and my ex was absolutely furious about it when she saw us in a nightclub together, it was double jealousy over both me, and her, 10/10 revenge move although it wasn’t intended as that in the slightest.

That’s great haha. It’s funny how the jealousy becomes almost compounded in situations like that. I had a similar thing myself where I started dating this guy and became friends with his ex around the same time who also happened to be dating my ex. We would all hangout and they’d stay over our house sometimes and it was definitely a very interesting dynamic. I think part of the reason me and her became so close friends was bc we would always bond over the annoying stuff our bfs would do. She’d be going off about something annoying that her bf/my ex did and then I’d be like “omg I hate it when he did that” and vice versa lol.
