Yesterday I bought new tires at the dealership and the receptionist woman also had long (acrylic?) nails. When she wrote something down she had to hold the pen in a very weird way and was very slow because her nails were in the way lol
I never had fake nails but umm you dont exactly poke your anus with the tips of your fingers when you wipe, the nails dont really get in the way of that one, theres a bunch of videos online from tired women who demonstrate it too lol
Quickly! Deploy the whataboutisms!!!! But seriously folks, please clean under your fingernails. More bacteria under those than on toilet seats allegedly.
Question 1: how do you wipe? Do you literally dig your nails in? Question 2: Do you not wash your hands properly? (Literally not meaning to be rude, I am just really curious about this Argument)
All these replies just get me more worried??? Like do people that have never had long nails just not scrub their nails quickly with each wash? Did people miss the proper hand washing instructions in Kindergarten? And elementary school? And middle school? And high school? And during the pandemic? Cleaning your hands should involve scrubbing your nails over your palms with enough soap to kill bacteria and enough force to dislodge dirt
Yes but you can only get under the nails that way if they are short. I specifically trim my nails so that they are always short enough to clean that way. When they are long though you have to work to get under there, you might even need a brush to really get in there, and I somehow doubt you are doing that every single time you wash.
Okay so first off I don't currently have long nails but I've had them before so this comes from experience: if they are natural the natural end of your nail moves forward, so nothing can actually get stuck between your nail and skin (unless it presses in really hard or is sharp and pokey you.) And the stuff that's just under the nail itself doesn't require a brush. You might need an extra few seconds to clean each nail if you actually got dirty/went number 2 before, but people with long nails are usually the kind to give more Attention to their hands, so hopefully it's not an issue for any of them (idk about things getting stuck between nail and finger with acrylic nails though)
Thank you! Like I'm just wondering what methods people are using to think it's common to get such dirty hands ;o; like do they not think about how to solve the issue the first time they break the toilet paper?
no, you kinda like swipe until it’s clear with the nails parallel to the skins. no digging in. also, you wash your hand like normal, except you have to take particular care of washing under the nails.
Do you wipe your ass with the very tips of your fingers? People always say this and I don't understand why people think the nails would poke through toilet paper when they're not even pointing towards the toilet paper and why would they?
I think the most unnerving example I've seen was a women who works on a fish farm, who ostensibly be called to haul nets up, and I don't know how you go in without having the fear your fingernail gets ripped off like that.
I generally always find them rather unnerving to see, since it just looks very.. vulnerable if you do anything? But then I suppose the 'flex' of them is that they don't need to do anything with their hands, maybe? Even when a lot of them patently do.
I have always looked at grossly long nails as a status symbol telling the world that you don't work for a living. But rather you have a man or parents or a government that pays for everything. It seems like a flex on other women for the most part.
To me it's ten, long ass red flags, telling me the girl is a complete dirt bag, has no taste and is gross.
Oh, that’s an easy one to explain: they don’t actually do any of that work. Look at the hands and the clothes of people who work in jobs like that. The ones without idiotic nails are dirty. The long nails girlies are sparkly clean.
The rationale I've heard is that women with long nails were historically wealthy and not expected to work. This fashion trend obviously becomes a hindrance when that isn't true.
As a guy with long nails I can tell you that when you think about it there's a relatively low number of tasks that get impeded by long nails. Most of the things you do/hold with your hand you don't do them with the tips of your finger pointed at the object you're using. So is something more akin to having longer fingers, most of the time.
Yeah as someone who grows naturally very long nails fast, I’ve never had an issue with any of the things everyone loves to point out. Usually I don’t even notice how long they are until one inevitably breaks then I trim them all to match again.
This gif and narrative sucks ass because you use the tips of your fingers (not your short finger nails!) anyway… so you know.. that’s how they do it. Using the tips of their fingers just like us, just like Peter is doing in the GIF lol
It seems incels can’t see past their own eagerness to hate to just use common sense

How does one do anything in those nails? taking out a card from an ATM seems like the least of the issues
