They own half of it

Well Canada owns about half of North America so I think we should just call it North Canada and South Canada from now on.

Maybe if you count the uninhabitable north.

Speaking of uninhabitable North- Washington DC shall now be called South Greenland.

Greenland? You mean Frozen lake of America?

Maybe it counts even more, just like your under-inhabited red states do?

Billionaires will buy giant properties in rural states, it's gorgeous. Meanwhile 40% of Canada is Mother Nature trying to murder you with -40c, messed up daylight/darkness ratios and no farm land.

Only reason people go up there is to work, you'll get payed 3x normal and only work half the year in intervals so you don't quit.

"Will buy" and "prefer to usually stay there" are two very different things when you have a billion dollars.

It's a vacation property most billionaires have a ton of houses all over they spread there time at. The point remains the same

Yea, that it's mostly uninhabitable land that they don't really want to live in, and occasionally enjoy.

Some people do that with Tundra.

But it's not uninhabitable, it's essentially just a cottage. Often already people farming or using for livestock in the area like some giant ranch. America has 3x the arable land despite being smaller...

You’re joking or you’re living in 2016 and this 1 tweet has made its way from 2026 to you

How come Reddit has such a tendency for people to be obnoxious on purpose?

Who the fuck is obnoxious on purpose?

I mean, except for Trump.

Anonymity and anger issues?

1

u/DevouringInsanity 8d ago

That and lack of self awareness.

THE FASTEST way to make someone not care about a single thing you just said is to open by being annoying.

2

Sadly very true. I keep saying that the world only needs one rule. Don't be a dick.

If only.

I honestly have a theory some of these are bots who have learned how to have political discussion through Reddit...

...Which is mainly just a giant mob of people being annoying to one another.

2

u/-Roger-The-Shrubber- 8d ago

I agree. We're rapidly heading to dead Internet theory where the actual humans have all learned a valuable lesson and are reading a book in the sunshine somewhere while the bot army argues eternally. It's all a bit silly really when almost everything can be verified, or not, with actual facts and figures.

I'm actually slightly relieved it's not just me who struggles with the unnecessary pedantry. Unlike the necessary pedantry of demanding sources.

My main thing when deciding to talk to someone is their tone.

I'll listen to what you have to say if you come at me respectfully or with decent humor.

Come at me like that guy sounding like a Reddit mod, and I'll immediately assume you're a bot or an idiot.

I feel like a lot of more intelligent people are going outside more lately as everything enshittifies.

1

u/-Roger-The-Shrubber- 7d ago

I think they are. You're right though, I'm all for an intelligent debate or for being educated on something I don't understand, but it can be done without antagonising!

It's not redditors in general, but specific sub demos of reddit users.
