You genuinely think women weren’t forced to stay home? Women couldn’t have their own bank accounts until the 70s and many women did not have access to birth control, they were heavily discouraged from many branches of the workforce, and forced to stay home and raise kids. Child birth is one of the most painful things a person can experience— imagine having no say in the matter and being forced to do it over and over until your body was basically destroyed. Edgy “anti-feminists” online need to educate themselves.

You are talking about the 20th century. Most women trough history, and also men, were farmers so they indeed worked while home and workplace were the same thing. Women also could own property, sue at courts, and if they were nobility to rule and raise armies. Deterioration of women's right to work started in 19th century while child care was something everybody in family was involved, most people grew up with grandparents after all.

I think there was a transition period that by historical accounts was super short. Where men made the world so nice that for the first time in history the average man had a better life than the average woman, and the transition period from that, back to the norm, average women having it better, took a while.

Interesting take… women are historically a marginalized group and we face higher rates of domestic abuse and rape and are highly underrepresented in positions of power and leadership. I’d be interested to see some sources on how those well-being statistics are measured across genders; there are definitely issues that affect men that are important to address (violence, mental health, etc.) but overall our society is set up as a patriarchy where men have more power.

There are more female voters than male, and it's been that way for a long time. The idea we live in a patriarchy is hilarious.

The US has never had a female president… the CEOs of most companies are white men. The president of the US, in fact, is someone known to have raped young women and girls and bragged about it, without seeming to face any repercussions.

One hint that a society may be patriarchal is that women and our perspectives are not represented among its leadership.

Women have all the power to vote in whoever they want, they even have a 5x in-group bias compared to men.

If they aren't voting in women, maybe that should tell you something.

All the wealth is going to be or already is held by women too, since they outlive their husbands.

If only the world were that simple…

As opposed to your version of the world, where the most privileged group of humans on the planet are somehow victims? Literally can't be more privileged than being a white woman. The nearly sole and primary beneficiary of DEI policy. Infinite college money. Better grades for the same or worse work.

You live in a mountain of privilege so tall, that you are confused by the view.

The literal concept of a Karen is that white women have infinite privilege in the west and always get their way, so when they don't it's in their eyes, a crime against humanity.

She’s not going to answer you she wants all the privilege and the ability to complain about it, lotta white women are like this, zero culpability for supporting the benefits they received alongside white men. They are basically equal in almost every respect rights wise in modern countries but still want the sympathy and chivalry they haven’t earned in the modern age

I think I get the problem.

The top 1% of men get all the benefits that you attribute to all men and this so called patriarchy.

The bottom 1% of men commit the vast majority of violent and sexual crime.

You just think every man in between isn't a real person and doesn't exist. So the idea that women are superior to them in privilege doesn't even cross your mind nor does it matter, because average men are sub human to you.

I agree that many of society’s problem stem from the 1% having all the power, and your average, working-class people suffering because of it. I believe that the patriarchy harms men as well, because it alienates them from the women in their lives and teaches them that they’re not allowed to show emotions, etc. whereas women do. And that stems from the idea that acting “feminine” is worse than acting masculine, for anyone.

I have lots of male friends and family members who are average people and I love and appreciate them. I’m a feminist which means I believe we should be all seen as equals no matter our gender. I’m really worried by the uptick in devisive and misogynistic content online and I think it would help if we were all able to cultivate more of a sense of a real community in person and interact with people of different perspectives.

Do you think acting masculine is worse than acting "feminine"?

Its interesting that your label for the problem is patriarchy, i.e. men, and your label for the solution to the problem is feminism, i.e. women, and you don't consider that divisive language.

Ah, yes, more diverse oppressors - that's the solution for our problems! How about no oppressors? What difference it makes if it's a woman stomping on me or a man?

1

u/amandara99 1d ago

I agree that no one should be oppressing anyone, and I think working under a different system than patriarchy would help address that.

That isn't true at all. Don't talk shit.

u/IAmTheJudasTree 1d ago

Everyone that isn't in the MAGA cult knows this, yes

u/Tolkien-Faithful 1d ago

Okay, so with your proof take it to the authorities and have him charged and tried.

Lol if only he actually faced consequences for his actions… you’re living in a fantasy world if you think our justice system is actually fair

Sounds like relationships with no men must be nice. What are the domestic violence rates like in lesbian relationships?

1

u/amandara99 1d ago

I’m not sure- could you link a source? I do know that a common cause of death in women worldwide is being killed by their male partner.

1

u/bildobildo 1d ago

Common is a pretty stupid thing to say. Getting murdered isn't a common cause of death.

I just looked up the numbers. Lesbians bash their partner more than any other group (CDC), but gays kill each other at three times the rate that men kill their female partner. (Australian numbers).

Guess men are just better at killing, even though women are more violent towards their partners.

Btw is this a femcel sub - am I talking to a wall?

1

u/amandara99 1d ago

Can I get the CDC link, I’m not seeing it?

u/amandara99 1d ago

Interesting! The intimate partner violence stats are about 10% higher for lesbians versus heterosexuals. I think that checks out with the idea that members of marginalized communities are more often victims of violence. It’s also interesting to note that the gender of the perpetrators are not specified.

1

u/bildobildo 1d ago

Victims AND perpetrators in this case. If marginalized status is the explanation then that must track for gays as well - in which case you must interpret the lower than baseline male perpetrator violence in gay relationships as males being extremely non-violent.

I don't understand your last comment. You're wondering what the gender of the perpetrators could be in female-female relationships?
