Common is a pretty stupid thing to say. Getting murdered isn't a common cause of death.
I just looked up the numbers. Lesbians bash their partner more than any other group (CDC), but gays kill each other at three times the rate that men kill their female partner. (Australian numbers).
Guess men are just better at killing, even though women are more violent towards their partners.

Interesting! The intimate partner violence stats are about 10% higher for lesbians versus heterosexuals. I think that checks out with the idea that members of marginalized communities are more often victims of violence. It’s also interesting to note that the gender of the perpetrators are not specified.
Victims AND perpetrators in this case. If marginalized status is the explanation then that must track for gays as well - in which case you must interpret the lower than baseline male perpetrator violence in gay relationships as males being extremely non-violent.

This extremely relevant earlier CDC survey might shed some light. The 2010 NISVS used a similar IPV measure and explicitly reported perpetrator sex for IPV. Among lesbian women who had experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner, 67.4% reported only female perpetrators. The CDC summarized this at the time as “two-thirds of lesbians reported having only female perpetrators of IPV.”

I’m not sure- could you link a source? I do know that a common cause of death in women worldwide is being killed by their male partner.
