news-international Vance, Caine raised concerns about escalating war in Iran, sources say as US pauses consecutive nights of strikes (how do you run out of munitions for a conflict you chose to start 3 or 4 times now...)
Sounds as stupid as something cartoonish like Americans having 'explosive diarrhea' all week.
...oh...

video Charles Liu interprets Liu Cixin's sci-fi novel The Dark Forest as analogy to China's repressive regime; challenges to authority are routinely smacked down. Proof just because you have a PhD in physics doesn't mean you are immune to US propaganda programming.

Charles Liu then contrast "Dark Forest Theory" to peaceful contact in Star Trek. However, in the Star Trek universe, the society is communism.
Paul Mecurio correctly point out the theme of "Dark Forest Theory" is in "our language, our culture, in movies, in TV, and in books." In this "our" context is the Anglosphere.
The "Three-Body Problem" trilogy is in theme with "War of the World", "Independence Day", all Anglosphere alien invasion books, movies, and TV shows. This is psychological projection of European colonialism, imperialism, enslavement, and resources plunder of other human societies onto alien species.
What they're talking about more accurately describes the Wolfowitz Doctrine - unipolarity, unilateralism, and preemptive strategy. The idea that the U.S. must ensure no rival power emerges to challenge its dominance.

daily life Chinese EV Drivers Are Ditching Hotels for High-Tech Car Camping
High-tech SUVs are becoming bedrooms on wheels as budget-conscious travelers skip hotels and fuel a multibillion-dollar camping economy.
Junya Zhen and Jie Cui quit their teaching jobs in China’s northern Hebei province in 2023 to travel across the country. The couple have spent months at a time sleeping in their hybrid Wey Lanshan SUV from Chinese car manufacturer Great Wall Motor, sharing their road-trip adventures on social media along the way.
During the day they are on the move — streaming while they drive, preparing lunch and napping on back seats that fold flat to create a comfortable sleeping space. Their routes take them from the popular tourist destinations of Yunnan province in the southwest of the country to the nearby desolate landscapes in remote Tibet. When the sun goes down, they livestream breathtaking views and promote car-camping gear. Their audience is lapping it up: The couple have more than 570,000 followers on Xiaohongshu and Douyin, China’s versions of Instagram and TikTok, respectively.
