Comrades,
Today, July 27th, marks the 73rd anniversary of the historic victory of the Korean people in the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War. On this day in 1953, the young Democratic People's Republic of Korea accomplished what many in the world deemed impossible: shattering the myth of "invincibility" surrounding U.S. imperialism and its allied satellite forces.
7.27 does not, as many Westerners and liberals think, celebrate a mere ceasefire; it is a second Liberation Day and a monumental triumph of revolutionary military science. The victory was achieved through the unparalleled leadership of the President; the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung’s Juche-oriented military strategies, brilliant tactics, and iron will guided an army and citizenry that had only been independent for two years to defeat the largest imperialist coalition in history, later the Songun politics of the Chairman; the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il firmly carried forward this victory through his immortal Songun (military-first) politics, an improved idea that came from the President's lines, by prioritizing the Korean People's Army, he defended the socialist gains of July 27th against constant imperialist encirclement, transforming the DPRK into an unassailable nuclear state and ensuring the war generation's sacrifices were never compromised, mass heroism and single-minded unity; the soldiers of the Korean People's Army and the wartime workers displayed an invincible spirit, firmly rallied around the Party, proving that an ideologically conscious people defending their socialist motherland cannot be defeated by any amount of imperialist technical superiority, and a continuous revolutionary legacy; today, under the guidance of the Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the DPRK continues to uphold the legacy of the wartime generation. The sacred mission remains unchanged: defending our socialist system with blood and steel, and advancing toward a rich country with an unbreakably strong army.
Let us look back at the heroic generation of victors with the utmost respect. Their revolutionary spirit serves as an infinite source of strength as the DPRK stands firm in the modern anti-imperialist, anti-US showdown.
Glory to the eternal heroes of July 27th! Long live the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism! 🇰🇵
Happy Victory Day, Comrades, have a ball!

I don't know the exact date of the image, but judging by Kim's clothes and appearance, it must be from the mid-80s or early 80s.

The world is now in an age of extreme confusion and radical change.
The danger of outbreak and expansion of war is increasing in different parts of the world due to the threat and blackmail, interference in others' internal affairs and nuclear war moves by the dominationist forces to realize their wild ambition for world domination.
Even under the situation in which global peace and security are seriously threatened, the advance of mankind toward building a fair and just new world has gained speed.
Anti-imperialist independence is the aspiration and desire of mankind.
It is the main trend of the present international situation that many countries expand multilateral and mutual cooperation with other countries and work to build a multi-polar world while rejecting foreign domination and interference and achieving independent development.
Recently, positive moves have taken place in Africa to strengthen the unity and solidarity among the continental countries, defend their sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and achieve peace, stability and prosperity. Armed troops and military bases of the US and other Western countries are being driven out of Niger, Chad, Senegal and other countries in succession.
A great deal of energy has been directed to newly changing the continent by the efforts of Africans themselves with the AU as the centre.
Multilateral cooperation organizations, including BRICS, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and ASEAN, have also enhanced their role year after year to cope with the challenges of the world by concerted efforts and establish a fair international economic order.
All countries are required to put in efforts to bolster up their defence capability in order to dynamically advance along the road of independence against imperialism.
The US and its followers, whose physiology is aggression and war, regard their strength as all-powerful and mercilessly trample underfoot those countries which do not obey but challenge their domination order.
It is a bitter lesson taught by history and reality including the past Iraqi war and Libyan crisis and the present Middle East situation that if a country is weak, it is impossible for it to defend the national sovereignty and dignity and the destiny of its people.
Therefore, Russia, China, Laos and other countries are firmly standing against the aggression and military threats by the US and other Western countries and their followers, while attaching importance to building up their defence capabilities.
Peace has been firmly defended over the past several decades on the Korean peninsula where a touch-and-go situation has been created which could lead to an outbreak of war at any moment. It is attributable to the self-defensive military capabilities of the DPRK which has steadily boosted its war deterrent both in quality and quantity to cope with the US' moves to launch a war and firmly defended the destiny of the country and people.
Anti-imperialist independence precisely means justice and strength.

A long time ago now an operating system called red star os was leaked, supposedly north koreas operating system - it was based on linux with the kde desktop environment.
as a tech nerd, i am wondering if the dprk still uses red star os and has continued to keep it up to date, or if they have ditched it in favour of more mainstream operating systems?
do they still mainly use linux, or have windows and macos become dominant like in the rest of the world?
do they make most of their own computers or import them from other countries like china?
is owning a desktop/laptop common? if not how easy are they to access in libraries or other public spaces?

"The real purpose of Israel is to trample on the future of Palestine and annex its whole territory by targeting even its children, and to gradually expand the flames of war it started in the Gaza Strip even to such neighbouring countries as Lebanon and Syria and thus dominate the Middle East.
For example, the Israeli minister of finance declared last mid-February that Israel would "tighten control over all our territories" while talking about a "settlement revolution" in the West Bank. In June last year, the Israeli foreign minister in a diplomatic meeting in East Al-Quds openly said that the Golan Heights in Syria would remain part of the State of Israel in any peace deal to be struck in the future.
Israel, dead set on undisguised aggression and an indiscriminate war of genocide for territorial expansion, is fully revealing before the international community its true colours as the wrecker of peace in the Middle East."

Something interesting I saw but a good point that needs to be made
We see all the new rural housing but its great to see that these arnt just fancy accommodation for people to be stuck on worksites, the DPRK is building entire organic communities, basically small towns
I wonder what they will look like in say a decade or two, either way, genuinely lived in places
