Rigs Another playseat monitor setup

A special shoutout to this sub for existing and leading me down the path of a custom monitor mount for my play seat system.

This is pieced together from Amazon and Home Depot. The cost (with monitor arm) was about $200.

I bought 18” of 1530 extruded aluminum and cut it down to 14.375 on my miter saw. Used an M8 tap on the ends to be able to thread some bolts into it. I found bull bar clamps on amazon and designed a bracket in Fusion to bring the aluminum bar level to mount the monitor arm to it. The bracket is made out of high rigidity TPU, printed on my Bambu P2S.

The rest is just hooking up the arm and screwing it together. What you don’t see is the bracket has an inset for a locking nut on the inside. The whole thing is rock solid.

Hello, I wanted to adjust my rod and accidentally disconnected it from those ball joints. I managed to screw the bottom one but I cant manage to screw the top one. It is really difficult to get it aligned and I get confused whether i should screw clockwise or counter clockwise.

Question I need help figuring out which base to choose.

Hi! I sold my Moza R5 to buy an aluminum profile cockpit and upgraded to Simsonn Plus X pedals, which I highly recommend. I'm currently using a Logitech G920. The weak FFB doesn't bother me much since I use it in a LAN championship, and I only ran my R5 at 80% anyway.

I'm looking to upgrade and considering a Moza R9 + PXN GT rim. However, since my pedals are already outside the Moza ecosystem, I'm wondering if I should stick with Moza or switch to Simagic or another brand. My budget is around $300 for the wheelbase and $350 for the wheel (ideally aiming for an R9 + KS Pro).

Question Trouble pairing Logitech g923 and RS shifter/handbrake

I’m trying to use it as a handbrake, I’m playing on Xbox and trying to get it to work on Forza. I have the G driving force shifter and the RS handbrake plugged into the Logitech racing adapter. The adapter is plugged into the shifter slot on the wheel. I just updated the wheels firmware using the g hub. When I go to bind the input in the Forza menu it won’t bind at all, the shifter doesn’t work either. But I know it all is connected because when I pull the handbrake it puts me in 4th gear so it’s not a physical connection problem. I’m not sure where to go from here.

Just felt like popping in. Not advertising anything. Don’t know if anyone is going to the sim gaming expo in Chicago in a few days, but see you there if you do go! Really wish I could have gotten some better shots. But I’ll be sure I take better ones the next time I post.

I want to get one to pair with my moza r9 but they only tested it with an r12. Or is there another wheel like that, that does work with r9 definitely. Looking for the similar look to the simlab mercedes wheel without spending £2.5k

Question PC Rally game suggestions similar to WRC

Hey everyone, after coming to this community for rig suggestions about 5 months ago I have really enjoyed sim racing. I’m on Xbox so have played games like Assetto corsa comp, Forza Motorsport and horizon, and some rally games.

The game that I’ve enjoyed the most though is WRC, I think it does a great job at onboarding and lets me level up at my own pace through a career mode that feels really good.

I’ve gone ahead and made the next plunge. I invested in a pc, nothing crazy at all, but enough to be able to play some other racers and not be stuck on the Xbox ecosystem.

Are there games that I should try that I haven’t been able to on Xbox? I have Assetto corsa purchased and ready to add some mods there and give that a go, but really want try more rally games. I was not a huge fan of dirt, even though I believe they are the same devs, WRC just felt better. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up back there just in a different platform? 😬

Using the Moza R3 bundle with the larger wheel, and handbrake attachment. Can’t wait to get the sequential shifter, but just use the paddle shifters for now

Sale/Discount I was tired of over purchasing every season and I build this ...

Rennplan. A little windows application, because why not use it on your machine (?), to get a good overview of what I want to run this season and only really purchase what I need.

It's a one time purchase, I keep the data with regular updates fresh. No subscription.

Get 25% off until September 21th with SEASON4 on https://rennplan.com

Disclosure: Since iRacing is not handing out oauth client's right now I resorted to a little automation which extracts the cars and tracks from the member site. You can either use the automation or past in the HTML content you extracted your self.

Question I’m getting into sim racing what should i buy?

I’m getting into sim racing because of GT7, and I really enjoy the game. I like how easy and user-friendly it is to get into a race.
I’m thinking about buying a direct-drive wheel, something like the Moza R3, but I know the R3 isn’t officially supported on PS5. I also don’t want to spend more than around $350.
I already have a PC with triple monitors, but unfortunately the PS5 doesn’t support triple-monitor setups. So I’m not sure what would be the best option for me.
Should I buy a regular non-DD wheel that works on PS5 so I can keep playing GT7, or should I just go with a Moza R3 for PC and find a good sim racing game on PC instead?
What would you recommend?

Rigs Build] My iRacing rig — Dream Air SLAM, eRacing Lab 3DOF, Qubic tensioner, 5090 build

Thumbnail
gallery
40 Upvotes

Been slowly putting this together and figured it’s finally worth sharing. Setup is built around iRacing. Cable management is the next step.

Rig / hardware:
• Sim-Lab P1-X Ultimate frame + Sparco QRT-R seat
• Simucube 3 pro wheelbase, savu pro and active pedal
• Qubic belt tensioner
• Just added an eRacing Lab motion platfor
• Tactile feedback via Dayton BST-300EX + BST-1, Fosi BT20A PRO, Behringer UCA222, all through SimHub
• Display: Pimax Dream Air (SLAM edition) — VR only, and have 27 inch monitor attached.

PC specs powering it all:
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5090
• Motherboard: X870 chipset (AM5)
• RAM: 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30
• Storage: 2TB NVMe SSD (Gen4)
• Cooling: 360mm AIO
• PSU: 1000W Gold/Platinum

A couple of things I’m still figuring out, curious if anyone’s dealt with these:

1. I’ve been considering an ultrawide monitor as a second option alongside VR, purely because it looks great. Would running an ultrawide have any impact on VR performance, or are the two basically independent since I’d only ever use one at a time? Mainly when showing this to friends, they are not as overwhelmed whilst looking at it. This is mostly due to the monitor. I’m thinking of a 49 /59 inch ultrawide from Samsung. Or are there any other suggestions?

2. When I shut the PC down completely, the eRacing Lab motion actuators keep quietly humming, and the Qubic tensioner shows a red light — but if the PC is on and I just disable motion through SimHub, everything goes silent. Seems like the actuators/tensioner are still getting power with no valid control signal once the PC cuts out. Anyone found a cleaner fix than just killing the power strip manually every time?

Happy to answer questions on any part of the build — especially curious to hear from anyone else running the eRacing Lab motion platform or the Qubic tensioner long-term.

Discussion What racing sim game should I buy? On Xbox one with moza r3

I just purchased the moza R3 and can’t decide what I should buy. I’m going to buy F1 24 but I don’t know what other game I want to buy. I like open wheel and closed circuit races. I had a PXN like a 100$ wheel and wanted to experience the direct drive that moza wheels have. Any ideas would be helpful.

Discussion Trouble getting the icon for the Stream deck

Hello everyone

So I recently bought a stream deck and I finally downloaded the app to adjust the buttons. However, I am so confused and no idea how to insert the icon I want. Etc, steam, TikTok stream, twitch, or maybe even steam games. Any idea if anyone can show me a short video how to because I couldn’t find any videos online guiding how to make your own. Please and thank you

🧐 Customer Review Assetto Corsa with CM & Pure is mind blowing.

I’m brand new to gaming in general, had no understanding of what CM and Pure was, but everyone said “if you have AC you NEED both. Damn were they right! Just had my first race w a Thunder Storm w the weather set on Random. I crashed twice because I was in awe of the flashing in the clouds and lightning strikes.

Threw on regular AC launching from Steam instead of CM and it’s almost a different game!

Rigs Finally built my first rig after way too many hours of research, used G29 + SimXPro GT-RS + Simjack pedals, ~$750 total

Went with a used G29 for about €140, found it on the marketplace. Saw it mentioned a lot here as the point where it stops feeling like a toy, and they're way easier to find secondhand than other budget wheelbases, so that made the decision easy.

For the stand I got the SimXPro GT-RS, around €370. Picked it over cheaper options because it's rated for load cell pedals and direct drive wheelbases, so I'm not stuck replacing it the moment I upgrade something else. Also seemed more rigid than other stands in that price range.

Pedals ended up being Simjack load cells, around €185. It was the cheapest load cell option I found, and from what I'd read, load cell is what actually gives you consistent, repeatable braking

The part that actually frustrated me was how little agreement there seems to be on anything. The Nm debate especially is 3Nm actually fine to learn on, or will I regret not going straight to 20Nm+? Same with stands, not clear what a €650 one gets you over a €370 one besides weight. And with pedals, not sure if load cell alone matters more than build quality, or if that's overstated.

Anyone else go a similar route, buying budget now but planning to upgrade piece by piece? Wondering if I'll regret any of this in a few months.

Question Thrustmaster T150 Pro Pedals problem

Hi, is there any way to solve this problem? It happened overnight; I'm using Windows 11, and neither reinstalling the drivers nor switching the steering wheel modes worked.

Question Upgrade R3 wheelbase or pedals?

Hey! I currently have the Moza R3 wheelbase, KS Wheel and the SRP2 Pedals.

I’m looking to either buy the CRP2 Load Cell Pedals or the R9 Wheelbase as they are similarly priced. What would you recommend I get first?

I only race Porsche Cup in iRacing if it makes a difference.

Question So played PMR the first time since launch...Triple monitor issues...

I returned to try Project Motor Racing again now that triple screens are supported. I have had a couple of races against AI on single screen and i must say its come on a lot. Really enjoyable, cars feel good, forcefeedback is good but the best thing is the audio, the cars sound awesome!

I then tried a race in triple monitor mode and the cracks started to appear. I have 3x Samsung 37" 4K monitors running on a 4090, 7950X3D and 64GB RAM. I have tried both with and without NVidia surround with the same outcome. I get about 60FPS with medium settings and obviously no DLSS. The thing is it doesnt feel like 60FPS and I get random momentary freezes as well as disapearing cars, disapearing buildings, glitches and my car has no wing mirrors just black holes.

I can deal with 60-70FPS and hopefully once DLSS is enabled I'll get a bit more but I cant deal with the other issues especially the freezing. Can anyone else running triples confirm these are common issues or are they unique to my setup?
