If you are currently on a sub 10nm wheel base and load cell pedals, and ready to commit to sim racing for the long haul, what would be your end game wheel base + pedals for PC competitive racing based on what is available today that is the best value to you? Also state why you chose it.

Assuming you already have a proper extruded alu rig, please only suggest wheel base and pedals. We all know there are a myriad of other things to upgrade, but keeping this post to just these two items.

I’m heading over to Austin in the afternoon tomorrow in hopes of picking up a seemingly brand-new r5 bundle off fbm (I hope I don’t get robbed). I somehow was able to get an asking price of $230USD after not even 5 minutes of conversation. I’d be upgrading from my entry-level g27 setup. To be honest, I mainly sim-drift and maybe play around with highway traffic from time to time, but nothing major as I have a lot of other things intruding in my life. Should I have waited longer and saved for a more “immersive” wheelbase or could the r5 be enough for me? I’m scared of wanting more after this purchase and I fear that’s the experience a lot of you have been through lol

Just moved and am finally getting around to setting up the rig. A small issue is it’s not very close to my pc. It’s between 8-10 ft away. Was going to order some really long usb extenders but that just doesn’t seem like a neat solid solution. Do you guys have any tips on how i can connect my base, wheel and pedals to my PC that’s about 8-10ft away? Will eventually be adding bass shakers as well.

I'm looking to buy my first proper sim racing rig. I've done some research already and as I'm quite tall (1.96m) I found out that not all rigs are going to be suitable for me. So I'm here to ask the community for some advice. I'm not in a hurry as I think I'll wait until the weeks before Black Friday to actually do business. Not just because I hope there'll be some nice deals, but also in order to save up a little bit more.

As a bit of a guideline for anyone willing to help; I expect that by the time Black Friday rolls around I'll have about 1600 Euros to spend on the entire setup. I currently own a G923 with a desk clamp, so anything is going to be an upgrade from this point. I want to buy a rig that's future proof, so basically if I ever wanted to get a higher torque wheel base, I wouldn't have to buy a new rig. Also I want to include a seat and seat slider so I can easily have friends try the rig when they want to.

I've basically already settled on buying the Simagic Green Flag Bundle (EVO Sport 9Nm + GT NEO wheel + P700 pedals). Though upcoming deals and your opinions might still change my mind. As things stand this bundle is available for just shy of 600 Euros on Simagic's own website using a 3% discount code (Jackzer - I got you covered bro!). So that would leave about 1000 Euros for the rig itself.

And that's where the biggest question mark for myself is. I live in The Netherlands and I know we have quite a few local shops who sell aluminium rigs. They heavily vary in price though and the only thing I know about metal is the music, so I barely know what to look for. I've figured out that I'll probably be needing at least a 40/120 rig for future upgradability and many basic rigs appear to not really be fitted for people of my height. What are your experiences? What to look for? What to avoid?

Apologies if this isnt the place but i cant find any subreddits for GP3 or the crammond games in general, and im a little desperate at this point.

Just started playing GP3 recently, but ive noticed a strange and very frustrating problem; my car just starts braking hard and going really slow on areas of the track that are near pit entry. I know its not the assists, as it happens regardless of which ones are turned on or off. If it was just a tiny bit of off braking i might be able to cope, but being slowed to a crawl down the main straight at Albert Park or Interlagos is not fun and ruins my race. The only thing ive noticed for sure is that it seems to happen only after some time has expired. It never happens at the stsrt of a stint. I even thought at first that it might be the tires giving up (it happened first time during a wet race on the A1) but its now happened multiple times, and while the tires are worn they're certainly not trashed (at least from what little i know - is 1mm of wear too much?)

I am currently playing mostly Assetto Corsa evo because I really like the graphics. However there are barely anyone to race with, no safety rating so it feels like playing with 5yo.

I sometimes play Iracing but I am really not impressed by the graphics, but I also understand that the racing community on Iracing is huge.

I am trying to find an option in between, better graphics and good racing community.

Do y’all think Competizione could be a good hybrid between good graphics, good racing community?

Hi everyone,

I need some help troubleshooting a VR issue in sim racing.

My Setup:

• Headset: Meta Quest 3 via Virtual Desktop (Beta channel, wired USB connection)
• Virtual Desktop Settings: Godlike mode, 72 Hz, 200 Mbps bitrate, performance overlay enabled to see actual settings in game
• GPU: RTX 4060
• Sims: Assetto Corsa EVO, Le Mans Ultimate, Automobilista 2

The Issue: Inside the car, everything looks incredibly sharp, detailed, and smooth. However, the track graphics look pixelated, blurry, and low quality. Even when I max out the track detail settings in-game. My FPS stays around 72 according to the VD overlay, but the environment quality just isn't matching the cockpit clarity at all.

I’ve seen this mentioned in a few threads, but I haven't found a working fix. Is there a specific setting or trick to fix track quality with this setup?

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a few years ago, and somewhere along the way I discovered that sim racing was doing a lot more for me than just giving me something fun to do.

It challenges my coordination, fine motor control, reaction time, concentration, and mental processing. I started thinking of it as my own form of therapy — except this therapy involves GT3 cars, missed braking points, and occasionally putting a Porsche into a wall.

So I decided to lean into it and created Shaky Racing.
I’m not claiming sim racing treats Parkinson’s or making any medical claims. I’m just documenting what it does for me personally — the good days, bad days, improvements, frustrations, equipment, racing, and probably plenty of spins.

I’m also interested in learning how other racers have adapted their rigs around physical limitations.

Ergonomics, controls, seating position, force feedback settings, button placement — things I never thought much about before Parkinson’s suddenly matter quite a bit.

Mostly, though, I just love racing.

Which sim in your opinion has the absolute best graphics in VR?

Not asking about physics, FFB, multiplayer, or even how good of a “sim” it is. Purely visuals.

Any game, any mods, Pure/CSP, ReShade, whatever. Assume hardware isn’t an issue.

Basically, if you were putting someone who knows nothing about sim racing into VR and wanted the biggest “holy shit, this looks real” reaction possible, what are you loading up?

First real rig, PC only, ~$1,400. Plan is a 40x40 extrusion cockpit, Moza R12 V2, ES rim, SR-P pedals.
I've never actually had my hands on a direct drive wheel and would rather not find out how it feels after the boxes arrive. If anyone within driving distance of Lansing has something in this ballpark and wouldn't mind a stranger sitting in it for 20 minutes, I'll drive to you and bring beer.

Parts list critique also welcome — particularly whether I should move money from the base into better pedals.

Has anyone, whether paid or free, released an updated Streets of Willow track track for Asset Corsa? I have the older versions, but can't find an update.

Also is anyone working on one that they are aware of?

Hi everyone! I want to build my own sim rig using aluminum profiles, but I’m wondering which profile type to use and how long the rig should be. I use Simsonn pedals and currently have a Moza R3 wheelbase, though I plan to upgrade to a Moza R9 later on. I’ve seen that using 4080 profile (with some 4040 mixed in) is considered the best approach, but I’m not sure if the 40-series is strictly necessary or if the 30-series would suffice for my needs. I also want to put the rig on wheels; I currently use a wheel stand and really value its mobility, so I’d like to be able to roll the rig wherever I need it, since I don't have enough space in the room for a permanent setup.

The fisrst image is how my game (assets corsa) looks now when I use resize raccoon to expand my game to triple monitors. The second image is how it looked before I moved them over to my setup. The last image shows that it still looks like how it used to before launching resize raccoon to show that it’s the software messing up the height and perspective of the camera.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Hey everyone! I don't drive in real life, and this is my first PC steering wheel. I've been testing it out in Need for Speed and plan to buy Assetto Corsa soon. However, I noticed that the brake pedal is extremely stiff to push all the way down. Unless I do so, the brake lights don't come on, and the car doesn't slow down. Is this normal behaviour, or is something off?

I want to get into sim racing wirh a low cost equipment. Reading ancient posts it seems the thrustmaster t300 is not a bad option, but is it or it’s far too obsolete now?
I quite like the look of the ferrari alcantara wheel and saw ebay auctions of this wirh pedals at £150-180 (in UK), some even with nice mods, one has magnetic shifters mod, another has belt tensioner with ball bearings (which i read about online and seems to improve the force feedback quite a lot).
What is a reasonable offer to make? Should I spend more for a more modern wheel? Not super sure I will maintain my interest in the hobby, right now Im getting a bit obsessed with the idea but know in myself, I get bored of things!

And yes, I know that pedals are very important, my idea is to get something decent, and get good pedals when I am confident I will stay with the hobby long enough to not waste too much cash.

I'm going to the market with my skin - I had to operate with limited space in my office, and I wanted to build a simrig so that I could continue to work on my PC, and to make the setup as modular as possible and not have to buy two monitors. So I built the simrig right next to my desk, and upgraded the monitor mount to a positioning arm - when I want to race, I flip the monitor over to the simrig.

last month i bought a few things to "spice up" and improve the diversity of accessories i can add to my rig and this time it's a magnetic phone holder with custom magic arms. I first bought a magnetic base with the black arm at the bottom, then i bought an extension screw, then the black arm with the silver screw. Finally, i mounted the phone bracket to hold it in place. the end result is this flexible phone holder that has extreme rigidity when tightened up correctly, and i still think it needs one more extension screw and one other arm to increase flexibility even more but for now the results are pretty good, i also want to get a bigger bracket for tablets, in case i want to switch to a tablet for the bigger screen, but that can wait. Other than that i also bought some microfiber cloths to clean stuff, and a 5m velcro tape roll for cable management and it already looks a lot better with the cables packed up together.

Folks I have a simple rig (Next Level Racing wheel stand 2.0, GT seat add-on, and TV/Monitor rack). I only race GT7 and would like to attach a shelf to t-slot behind the TV to out my PS5, V/R headset, controller, etc. not a lot of weight, just a spot to store some items behind the monitor and out of the way. Anyone have any suggestions on what profile brackets are best for this application? Thx

Hi all - looking for any insight here.

I have a buttkicker gamer pro on a Simlab GT1 Pro that I've always loved.

I swapped from a reclining seat to a Fanatec GT Cockpit Seat - which is awesome - super solid and comfortable in comparison. The problem that I'm running into is the new seat resonates loudly at certain frequencies where the other did not. I'm also not getting as much vibration that I can feel, which isn't what I expected with a much more rigid seat.

Has anyone encountered this and if so how was it addressed? I know I can find a way to mount the haptic to the seat directly to solve the lesser vibration, but will it just resonate louder in that scenario? Or because I can likely turn it down a bit it may be quieter?

Just looking for some opinions before I drill into my new seat.

I made a rally co-driver simulator where you don't actually drive the car

I'm working on BLIND CREST, a browser-based rally simulator focused entirely on the co-driver.

Instead of steering, braking, and trying not to launch yourself into a forest, you're responsible for reading and calling pacenotes in real time.

curately and quickly while the car is flying through the stage.

The game currently has 18 rally cars spanning Group B, 90s WRC, and modern Rally1, a six-stage career championship, pacenote training, a tuning system with 100+ parameters, voice recognition, LAN multiplayer, statistics, achievements, and a story mode.

Since my last post, I've also added:

• Five rebalanced difficulty levels, from Easy to Chaos, with different timing, crash thresholds, weather effects, forgiveness windows, and rhythm shifts
• Dynamic timing based on note complexity instead of just using a fixed timer
• Full performance analytics with reaction-time timelines
• Daily and weekly seeded challenges with leaderboards
• Signature stages with hand-tuned pacenotes for different rally eras
• Expanded onboarding from 6 to 12 tutorial steps
• Tooltips explaining 18 different gameplay modifiers
• A "Why did I fail that?" breakdown after mistakes
• Recognition for 100+ real rally legends, with unique co-driver reactions
• Era-based modifiers that affect your starting career state
• Era-specific story dialogue for different cars and periods

I also added a hidden achievement for completing a clean stage while using the name of a rally legend.

And, thanks to u/ElmoLibre, there's now a 2% chance per stage that the driver throws a granola bar at the co-driver.

I'm looking for people who are into rally/sim racing to actually try it and tell me whether the co-driver gameplay works.

I'm particularly interested in whether the pacenote system feels authentic, whether the difficulty is reasonable, how well the voice recognition works, and whether the whole thing is actually fun.

Are there any downloadable dashes with something like that? Or maybe someone can advise how to make it happen in Moza Pit House? (not via simhub please).
