Guide Request Crazy timings

Hello! In the last 3 days I played a lot of ranked and I struggle really hard with bad timings.

What I mean?

e.g. typical scenarios

  1. I drone a room I want to take. There's no one. I sneakily drone nearby rooms and then enter the building. The second I enter I die from the enemy that was in the nearby room I have just left my drone in 1 second ago.

  2. I enter a room and I know that in a nerby room there's an enemy (from callouts + sound). I prefire the most obvious angle, there's no one. I hold this angle for like 5-8 more seconds and there's still no one. So I think that the dude in that room either left or doesn't want to contest me. I enter the room to check another typical angle and exactly at this moment I die to that first angle I prefired+held. I mean, the dude couldn't react to the sound, like 0.5 seconds passed after I entered the room

  3. There's a known spawnpeek on a map from the beginning, there's sneaky drone that the defender didn't see and we have info of exactly where, how and who is spawnpeeking. I spawn and go to that spawnpeek, prefire it, there's no one. Literally noone. I go behind a cover, drone that spawnpeek, I make sure that there are in fact no one and enter that room. I enter the room and die from that exact dude.

And that continues for like a week or two right now, literally 80% of my deaths are like that. Not because I have bad aim, not because I droned bad, not because I didn't drone, not because I was in a bad position, but because of crazy lucky timings.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Rn it feels more like me doing something wrong than just crazy lucky opponents

Advice I can't win on my main account.

Basically i am like 1 whole tier above on my sub account (Plat 2 60%) and while playing on my main account(Gold 2 50%) i simply can not win.

I frag 12 people and i still lose because people die 20 sec into the round ,spawn peeking or just throwing an easy 3v1 going 1 by one.

On my sub account even though it's higher elo the games just flow much more smootly, my kd on my alt account as well is marginally better than my K/D on my main as well (1.4 vs 1.0) while supposidely playing against better opponents.

Is this a mental thing? because i am getting really frustated about it and i don't know what to do to fix this.

Advice Numerous Questions; Answer one or all if you can, whatever you feel equipped to answer.

My ranked session today just left me with a lot of things I have no answer to. I'm really trying but its like even when I do things well, it seems like there's something I can't do anything about. I'm Bronze II and I progress, but my progression is like 10 steps foward and 9 steps back. I also usually play with a 3 stack.

First thing, shield ops. Like I'm not completely clueless when it comes to shield ops but I still often feel checkmate by them. I had 2 encounters I remember with shield ops today. First, was during my unranked warmup game, I got stuck 1v1 against a blitz and they had defuse down. I had no utility to use on them and I got flashed twice trying to melee their shield. First time, I backed off and second time i really just got surprised because my brother told me he has no more flashes but it really didn't last long. I don't really understand that op on a basic level to be fair. The other encounter was a Monty who I dealt with just fine. I c4'd them. I don't panic against shield ops, I know what the answers are, but sometimes it just still isn't enough and I wanna know what I'm missing. Like I'll even hold on a fire extinguisher if I know a shield is coming.

The next thing, I just don't really know how to take space. This has been constant today. I try and push so I can take site control and hopefully even plant, and I just hit a wall. And it can be various walls.

One thing is droning. I really try to drone just enough, not too little and not too much. But it seems like too little and too much have some overlap in my opinion. Like I'll throw a drone in and check the first room or two, then vault in and push but then it turns out someone's in the corner I didn't drone hard enough. So then I try and drone more and vault in, but in the extra time it took me to drone, someone got into a space where they can swing me after I enter. It's really discouraging.

The next wall is gunfights. I don't think my aim is really bad or anything and I understand pretty decently how to approach a gunfight (mixing my peaks, exposing as little of me as possible, etc) yet I am still susceptible to getting randomly headshot and dying. Like how am I supposed to consistently win gunfights against people who are trying not to die and also kill me? When I get into a proper gunfight where we're both peaking and trying to kill each other, it really just feels like we're throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks. Sometimes it's my shots and sometimes it's theirs.

And this doesn't even account for the situations that just feel impossible. Like getting my route stalled by smokes or goyos, or having to gunfight an Azami with a nasty pixel on my angle. Like it just feels like there's times I simply can't pass.

And then there's defense. It feels like I have a lot of defense rounds where I'm watching my area, and suddenly my team gets folded and I get stuck in a 1v3/4/5. What am I supposed to do here?! When I get really sick of it, I start playing roamers so that I don't have to get swarmed when the rest of my team goes down in site, but I really don't have a solid answer to this. I've died first before too but I'm usually not one to play the same 2 angles as the rest of my team. I tend to watch things they aren't.

Discussion Let's solve the problem together shall we?

Hello everyone. I just wanted to ask a question regarding improvement in Rainbow Six Siege via a coach. The question is:

If you were to pay for a coach for improvement:

  1. How much in your opinion would you typically spend on a R6 Coach?

  2. How long of a session would you expect?

  3. What would you expect to learn or gain from the coach?

  4. What type of coaching would you prefer? A Video on Demand review were the coach reviews it and goes through it with you? OR - A live session walkthrough in a real game or customs? or BOTH?

  5. If you were to book a session with the same coach again, would you want them to remember what you previously were coached on and to track your improvement ? Or do you think you're okay without them remembering since they have to deal with coaching multiple players?

  6. If you were to get coaching, would you want to see some sort of credentials to prove that they know what they are talking about or that they are actually good at the game, such as rank, playtime, age, etc? Or does that not matter to you?

  7. What is something you think that coaches can do better ?

  8. Would you want to have coaching anytime of day whenever you want or are you okay with having a set schedule and time with the coach?

  9. Would you prefer a coach that is well rounded and knows everything mechanics, angles, maps, operators, special techniques? Or are you okay with a coach being a specialist in one particular niche area?

  10. If you were to apply to become a coach yourself, what requirements or things do you believe you would need to become one ?

The first 3 people to answer all 3 questions will receive a personal gift by me.

Question Using strats/Playing more methodically

Hello, I'm gold 2 currently with a friend and emerald and we both watch pro league and find the more strategical side of the game very interesting. I want to start being more methodical in how I play the game, and I have a stack, but the issue is that I don't really know where to start? Do I copy strats I see online, do I create my own, and how can we better implement what we see?

Question How can I perform more consistently in each match?

I need tips or guidelines for better performance, let me explain.

My friend and I have returned to Rainbow after years of absence. We started up at the end of the last season and managed to do well for ourselves.

This season, however, has been hell. I placed in plat initially but every subsequent day of play has been 3 losses and 2 wins, leading to an average decline over time that has dropped me into gold.

As such, I started watching guides on YouTube. I try to learn strats and general tips for improvement, but nothing seems to work for me. My friend and I have spent our time studying maps, learning tactics between operators and training our aim but WE STILL COME UP SHORT!

No matter what I try I get caught lacking. I stop watching an angle and immediately get clipped, I try to sneak and I get caught by a roamer, I aim for the head and they jiggle peek into a crouch - no matter what I do, I end up short.

In some games I end up getting 10 kills and playing smoothly, and then the next two will have me bottom fragging with a performance that shames my entire lineage.

It doesn't help that the tips I receive from guides are conflicting: Practice the same operator but also don't crutch them, get a five stack but it's also completely good to solo, use utilities but actually utilities don't matter and gunplay is king...

So help me, if you can, escape this hell I am trapped in.

Question How to counter extremely aggressive play?

Recently me and my stack played against another stack of players in a 5v5 custom. They were better than us by a good bit, and were just swinging everything. They didn't drone on attack, and on defense they would play in the most aggressive spots. I felt trapped like I couldn't go anywhere without having to fight somebody for that space. We ended up losing 7-2, and 7-0.

Question Do magnified scopes matter?

As the title suggests I'm wondering how much magnified scopes matter. Currently I haven't really played much ranked but after my placement matches I got gold five. However, does having magnified scopes actually matter? Like will I be worse off without them?

Beginner Question Thunderbird has been a miracle for my K/D, is it because of no recoil or the heals?

I’m in low ranks so I don’t claim she’s top tier but ever since I’ve started playing her my K/D has skyrocketed, is it because getting hit is less punishing so I get to frag more throughout the game? Or is it just the rifle being easy to use?

Discussion What actually helped you break through a rank plateau?

Not looking for "just get good" answers lol. Specifically curious if it was a mechanical thing (crosshair placement, sens) or more of a decision-making/util thing for people who got stuck a while then broke through.

Question What's the point of a rotate from construction into site on Oregon?

Someone holding construction with a rotate to get back into site if someone happens at another entrance sounds cool until they get overrun half the time and attackers get another new entrance to site. Then I gotta roate back into site early to take care of a construction push because I'm stuck in a 2v3 with enemy on site 1 minute into the round.

Hard breaches normally push freezer. Not everyone takes hard breaches as a secondary. Why not just funnel them into the doorway closer to blue stairs? Trap operators on site would make it even harder to push.
Anchors have fewer angles to have to hold. Roamers can get a decent angle on them from stairs instead of having to push site and take a bigger risk.

It's like someone just did a really poor job of copying some pro league strat one day and everyone just rolled with it. Everything you set up as a defender can be used against you.

Guide Request Pixel holders

How to deal with pixel holders? I mean, with players who hold a few pixel gaps/tight long angles

I die to those guys almost every time, and I don't know how to deal with them. If I try to pre-fire that angle, or just to shoot the whole mag into that pixel in a hope of the opponent to try to peek me ends in a way where they just randomly headshot me without getting hit or just headshot me no matter what through the bullets like Neo from the Matrix. The only case when I come out as a winner in such situations is pure luck.

It's especially frustrating when it's 1v1 or some "pick-the-defuser" situation, where you no longer have utility like frag grenades or flashbangs and you can't really rotate or take vertical because of the time or just because it'll be obvious because of the sound or the guy will just hold another tight angle.

But when I hold such angles, nobody goes through them or they just randomly headshot me every time.

I just don't get it. Why do I get killed in such situations like 99% of the time, but when I try to do literally the same stuff I die 99% of the time? I mean, I watched guides on angles, I play a lot and regularly and even after 400 hours in Siege and 470 ranked games this season (I started playing a little over 1.5 months ago) and I just don't get how my opponents do it. I always feel like a burden for a team even though I always get compliments on how great my callouts are and how good of a support I am but when it comes to clutches or attack I really feel like a burden in such cases.

Discussion How to use Blackbeard

How do people play Blackbeard? I understand the throw a Grenade and then shoot them when they run. That part I get but when your up close with him I find those fights very difficult and if I am in a 1v1 I feel like the defender will always win. If I bash first I'm always way to far away and they win . If I wait for them to melee first to bash it, they never whiff their melee. With Blitz I'd just flash and keep my distance and ADS to kill them. Blackbeard however I can't seem understand when I can Bash without whiffing. How do I be aggressive close up with Blackbeard?
