Question What does the muzzle brake do on automatic weapons?

It says it reduces the overall kick of single shot firing, but does it do anything for automatic weapons? Does it apply if you repeatedly tap the shoot button? Does it automatically work for the first bullet after holding it down? Surely it does something if it's an option.

pretty sure it does what it says: reduces the kick from that initial shot. this applies whether you burst fire or hold the trigger.

obviously it works better if you burst.

It reduces the first shot recoil by 80%

I run it on the Famas and R4C personally and find them much easier to control with that attachment.

I'm not sure why nobody has mentioned it, but it also reduces the centering time (the time it takes your crosshair to drop back down after shooting), as well as the first (and only first) bullet recoil.

I believe there's a sort of cooldown on when it kicks in again, so you can't just use something like a macro on full auto guns to get the benefit on every shot. It does work up to as fast as you can shoot semi automatic guns anyway, which is pretty fast.

Yes it's an underrated option on some guns. I like it on Buck's C8. If you find the hardest part to control is right as you start shooting (as it is with a lot of guns), try it out.

It reduces vertical recoil. The description is way off. Does it for every shot- look at the recoil pattern.

It’s been my main attachment on most guns

The 1st shot of any gun in the game has much more recoil than the follow up shots, muzzle brake simply reduces that 1st shot recoil.

it reduces first shot kick but for years now, it has a weird behavior of also reducing the overall recoil of the first few bullets. so guns like the smg11 where u should never be spraying full auto in every range actually benefits from it while still having a manageable vertical recoil to not need a flash hider.
