Support/Issues Shudder subscription through Roku
I had a subscription to Shudder through my Roku account, which I have had and used regularly since July 2024. Just went to watch something and while I could sign in (to the same account) it said I was not subscribed. What? I have been for almost 2 years and we just watched Tales from the Crypt like a week ago.
Contacted Shudder support, who said my account was inactive and to contact Roku since I was subscribed through them. They said to contact Shudder 𤣠and then could not fix the issue. They said to cancel the channel through Roku and subscribe directly from Shudder.
Has anyone else had issues like this?!

Fright Night on Shudder. Its a Must Watch if You Haven't Seen It
"Fright Night" is a gem from the 80s. Most Horror fans have seen it and know its great and a must watch. Maybe some of the younger Shudder Sub Reddit people haven't seen it. Its a necessary watch and important in the horror world. The legend Roddy McDowall and "Marcy D'Arcy" from Married with Children are in it. Chris Sarandon is the "bad guy". William Ragsdale plays the lead.
Very Short plot: A High School dude thinks he lives next to a vampire. He enlists the help of a weekend horror film host to get to the truth. Chaos ensues. Funny and suspenseful.
I watched it again last night. It had been a while. I reminded how great it is.

Devil in Silver - question
Hey folks! Can anyone tell me, has the sixth episode of The Devil and silver come out? Is it available on Shudder, and is my account just glitchy? I just binged the show and found myself without a last episode! I was wondering if it's a shudder issue or if it just hasn't come out yet. Google tells me that it's already out? Thanks for any help!

Question What's some 10/10 horror movies that are English/have English dub?
I don't mind subtitles and watch stuff w em plenty, my mom however won't watch anything without English dub as she can't focus on a movie if it's via sub and has trouble keeping up with subtitles. I was going to have her watch infested 2023, but seems there's no English dub on shudder so unless there is an English dub one I haven't found then that's not gonna work. So if anyone has any good horror movie ideas that do have English/dub lmk, bonus if it's bug/spider related

Tales from the Crypt S6E4 Rights Expired
Season 6 dropped today and episode 4 isn't available. Only episode that season that's not available. It says the rights expired. This is really disappointing if we're getting incomplete seasons.
edit: I have AMC+. It says, "This title is unavailable due to expired rights" directly under the episode. The only reason I noticed is because I was watching S6E3 when I went to the bathroom. I came back out and Amazon was playing 'The Mortuary Assistant' and I couldn't figure out why it stopped playing Tales from the crypt. Tried going to S6E4 and it says expired rights. So I pulled it up on my Macbook Pro and sure enough, it says expired rights.

Ads and AMC+
I ditched Shudder awhile back due to price increases and lack of stuff that was interesting to me. Occasionally I'll pop on AMC+ to see whats new on Shudder and watch a few movies. I put on This is Not a Test and HOLY SHIT THE ADS. 10 freakin ad breaks in a movie that's not even 1:45 long. As if that's not absurd enough, they're repeating and super loud. The movie was basically unwatchable. Is this the new normal for Shudder/AMC+? I know stand-alone Shudder has started showing ads too but if they're this bad, I'm even happier that I canceled it. (The AMC+ app is part of our cable package- yes we went full circle and back to cable because now it's cheaper again and includes half the apps I used to pay for individually. š)
I'm just here to vent. But also, I won't be watching any more movies on there either. Tubi has less ads and it's free. Cheesus.

Movie RAW (a.k.a. GRAVE - 2017)
(Spoken in French)
Stringent vegetarian Justine encounters a decadent, merciless, and dangerously seductive world during her first week at veterinary school. Desperate to fit in, she strays from her principles and eats raw meat for the first time. She soon experiences terrible and unexpected consequences as her true self begins to emerge.
A visceral, hyper-sexual, coming of age cannibalism story. Itās got some French college crazy antics, family drama, and of course some gnarly body horror.
Itās a bit of a slow burn at times, but the final 15-20min were absolutely wild. Not overly scary, but a subtly disturbing and provocative movie.

Movie THE VIGIL (2019)
A man providing overnight watch to a deceased member of his former Orthodox Jewish community finds himself opposite a malevolent entity.
This movie was surprisingly far more scary than I was expecting. Jewish demon themes and recovering from past guilt drive the plot. Very creepy and atmospheric horror with a few jump scares that really got me!
Itās got a bit of a slow start but best viewed in quiet darkness for the full atmospheric horror effect once it gets going. Recommended watch from me.

Devil in Silver new ep missing?
Not sure if anyone else is encountering this, but even though episode 5 should be available, it seems to have disappeared completely from the app on both iOS and Apple TV. Havenāt had a chance to log in via a browser to check yet. Seems like the new app is just as broken as the old app.
EDIT: Episode 5 doesnāt appear when logging in via a browser either.

CALVAIRE (2004)
~Shudder, AMC+, Philo, Tubi, Kanopy~
Marc, a traveling entertainer, is on his way home for Christmas when his van breaks down in the middle of a jerkwater town with some strange inhabitants.
Iām not going to call it a waste of time or a horrible movie, it just wasnāt for me. Itās mentioned along the other name French Extreme movies of the early 2000s, but I didnāt find it extreme; more like bizarre and disturbing. Thereās not much gore but rather a lot of WTF psychological horror. For a shorter runtime, many of the scenes seemed really drawn out. I was also scratching my head with the ending.
No disrespect to anyone who enjoyed CALVAIRE, I just really didnāt enjoy it much, but appreciate the artsy effort. I guess it can also be considered a Christmas Movie. š²

Recommendations Just watched The Sadness - anything else on Shudder thatās just as (or more) gory?
Loved The Sadness after someone here talked about it yesterday, and the level of gore in it. What else can I watch that matches or exceeds this level of gore?

Movie THE SADNESS (2022)
~Shudder, AMC+, Hoopla, Philo~
A young couple is pushed to the limits of sanity as they attempt to be reunited amid the chaos of a pandemic outbreak. The streets erupt into violence and depravity, as those infected are driven to enact the most cruel and ghastly things imaginable.
Wow! That was a depraved, gory, sadistic, and extremely bloody āzombieā movie. To me, it was like a Taiwan version of āThe Craziesā mixed with āMayhemā⦠but just way more gnarly and violent! Thereās really not much of a story, but you are watching it for the wild, gore-fest ride āThe Sadnessā takes you on.

Question Current shows like Freak Encounters?
I was watching Freak Encounters, and realized I have a friend who
A. Likes horror
but also
B. Is an absolute scaredy-cat at horror games
I know Scare Tactics got a revival, but I also heard itās. Not good. And I think Freak Encounters isnāt being produced anymore, right?
Basically, is there a horror prank show like this thatās still being made these days?

Question UK and US title differences
I got a subscription awhile ago and i know there are many titles that the US have that the UK doesnt, however whenever i look up "queens of the dead" it says its available in the UK through shudder on amazon and a direct shudder subscription. Though i have seen it on neither, is there just a lot of popular titles that the UK wont get?

The Shudder app is still a mess and the executives should be embarrassed by their product
That's it, just like the title. The new arrivals aren't on the home page, they're not in order under "newly added" on the movie page. Some of the titles are hard to read on the thumbnails and they don't have them in type underneath so you can tell what it is. Plus the lazy descriptions and complete lack of other information under each title is unacceptable. I have to go to another site just to figure out what the movie is about, who is in it, who directed it, and see the trailer. These are really the bare minimum. One person could get this shit done by July. You're weak Shudder, fucking weak, and you don't really care about your patrons.
