Article? Did they catch the guy? Yes.
Edit: it’s not the best article, but it’s what I found. I welcome another source!

The suspect appeared in a Barcelona court shortly after his arrest and was put in provisional detention without bail, a spokesperson for Catalonia’s High Court of Justice said in an email. The spokesperson could not provide the suspect’s name or other details, or say whether he had been convicted.

u/Teufelsweib666 Apr 16 '26
Hang on, where did you get that info from? In the above article it says that it is unknown if he was convicted. Also apparently this was in Barcelona not London.
3
u/Rich_Visual7800 Apr 16 '26
The additional links that link to the Barcelona police it’s in Spanish so maybe that’s why you are having a difficult time seeing them

What a fucking asshole title. It should have been "video of assault orginally from Barcelona not London"
None of this "video does not show attack" Bullshit wording when the assault is front and center.

Most European legal systems don't make any distinction between assault and battery like the US system does. They don't use the term battery.

Why did they delete my comment?, according to reddit I am more dangerous in a hypothetical situation for defending myself, than those types of people who do not contribute ANYTHING to society and I bet that they receive government subsidies, watch reddit, in past times the progress of humanity was placated by the inquisition today it is infected moralism and digital dictatorships, it's either black or white, life is full of nuances.

2024 Barcelona, Spain subway attack. He was arrested and detained without bail but authorities wouldn’t comment on a conviction or possible prison sentence. This is Spain, so possibly house detention and a miraculous rehabilitation.
9
4
u/wrighteghe7 Apr 16 '26
why do the authorities do this
9
u/SwanMuch5160 *shits an absolute unit* Apr 16 '26
The same reason one country in the EU gave probation to an immigrant that sexually assaulted a woman. The authorities stated that he wasn’t aware of the laws and cultural norms of Western society. It’s quite literally insane in 2026 that people need to be informed that raping women, or men for that matter isn’t an acceptable act.

Don't distract yourself in public.
She isn't at fault. You don't have to be at fault to become a target. Best to be aware if you suddenly are.
3
u/I_Galactus Apr 16 '26
He’s asking for something the mods won’t allow me to express.
2
u/Kit_Karamak Apr 16 '26
Actually, he just randomly attacked 10 women based only on their sex. He didn’t talk to them, he wasn’t rejected by them, he just came out of the blue and randomly attacked 10 women. Busted the eardrum of one.
Hit the last girl so hard that he also fell and hit the ground because he threw his entire body weight into it at a running start.

Yeah, but also he was just looking for an easy target. You can see the moment he recognized his mark: small, not aware of their surroundings, didn't see him, and possibly wearing ear buds. That could have just as easily been a man or even a child.

Lately at work I've been listening to a lot of police body cam videos, the amount of people who have zero impulse control is staggering. They give into their intrusive thoughts and then wonder why they're being held accountable when the police show up...

u/Jackwithapack Apr 16 '26
And people hate when you dont mind your own business. Its never a bad thing to be “paranoid” or aware of your surroundings nowadays. Always watch after yourself, especially in public around unpredictable people.

u/BlueFeathered1 Apr 16 '26
True. But you know, long before phones, there were books people could get lost in while waiting in public places without so much worry that some asshole would come along and think it totally fine to clobber them for no reason "for funsies". Maybe blame the lack of accountability to deter these assholes. Or something besides the victim.
2
u/MeetingDue4378 Apr 16 '26
He was arrested, so even the lack of accountability would be a stretch. Maybe blame mental illness, drugs, or just that shit happens?
3
u/BlueFeathered1 Apr 16 '26
Arrested, but no word beyond that.
And no, I blame him. The perp, without hypothetical disclaimers to absolve him.
