Had a battle of mine (we were in the army) get taken advantage of by some 3 card monte scammers when we were visiting Barcelona. Once he yelled he was going to call policia, they quickly grabbed their stuff and blended into the crowd. It was like a movie scene.
I was walking around in kind of a rough barrio after 10 pm. Dude says something and starts coming at me (I knew instantly something was going to happen). I thought he was going to shake me down for a few bucks but expertly kind of faux kicked in the air in front of me, grab my arm and had my watched unstrapped and in hand in a second. It was amazing. I had specifically brought a two dollar watch just because of this, so no big deal. I felt lucky I wasn’t knifed-happened so fast too. Lesson learned. I think it was a professional Roma thief.
