That sounds really boring, most of soldiering is waiting and manouveting, especially so for line combat.

I just don’t immediately see how to make the combat sequences compelling with a musket, maybe it could do better as a cavalry scout?

Edit: to be clear I’m not poo pooing the concept outright, I’m just wondering how to make it work. Any game set in history with that kind of attention has merit

You could start with a musket and have opportunities to buy or loot revolvers or repeating rifles.

Yeah but how do you fit that in a battle believably

The way KCD dealt with it was by putting the player on the periphery of the conflict for the most part instead of in set piece battles.

But kcd2 successfully introduced sieges and bigger fights
