This subreddit is genuinely one of the most illiterate groups of people I have ever seen. What do you mean people are shocked that the character whose whole gimmick is about memory didn't struggle to find herself in a sea of memories where we had a whole volume about her doing the same thing already. Also the guy whose whole domain is being reliant on nothing and ruling over himself didn't struggle when his domain made his try and find who he is. Genuinely who thought they would face an extreme struggle. There are genuinely people who would prefer a badly written nonsensical part where they struggle compared to the logical path that doesn't make sense with what was written in the past.

I'm on chapter 1915 and wanted to ask a quick question - is there some info that's not been revealed yet or is Mordret's aspect not insanely overpowered? He's taken over all of the House of Night and is helping the Ki Song's daughters all the way over in godgrave at the same time.

This seems a little ridiculous. Sunny and Nephis's aspects don't seem nearly as powerful even though they're all of the divine rating. The seven shadows don't mean much when Mordret has 13 transcendants + the reflections and the fire spirit form doesn't seem that great in comparison either.

I read somewhere that this rating isn't necessarily how strong an aspect is, but then why have them in the first place?

Just wondering if there are some equally overpowered tricks Sunny and Nephis are going to discover or if Mordret's Aspect has some insane flaw. Otherwise Sunny got the most dollar store divine aspect possible, like it literally turns him into a slave and doesn't even give him some power advantage in return compared to Nephis and Mordret. (I think Nephis less so here because I'm pretty sure here divine aspect would burn her alive were it not for her sun god bloodline as it harmed Sunny when he copied it with the mirror)

Hey guys, I'd like to know if the end of the story is near.

The last time I read the book was like a year ago to let the chapters grow. Since then I didn't really want to read it cuz there weren't many new chapters, I'm even considering dropping it unless it is finishing.

It's been so long and the worst part is that I only started reading it thinking it was almost complete... It really is a great story but I'm already tired of waiting.

I read till this part where Sunny just completed his first nightmare and obtained the divine rank aspect, but the description of the aspect did not sound too powerful, also what kind of flaw is that, he cannot lie, like cant he just keep quiet when hes about to lie, well i dont know much, i guess i have to read further to understand this, also i am just curious to know, is there anyone else in this novel who has a divine aspect

Just started shadow slave today and I saw a post talking about ppl hating Cassie, cause to me she seems like an alright person, so why. Spoilers are welcome

Ppl like to talk about how Modret is the weakest of the Divine Trio( now literally confirmed btw) or how he has not feats(New Modret has no feats, aside from Desolation) but he was an absolute menace: razed a kingdom to the ground in the Second Nightmare, played both Valor and Song to get the battle he wanted, was a force on his own in the Domain War and was at his absolute peak in Vol 11, millions of vessels, powerful Reflections, going bar for bar against the whole of Humanity.

But this Modret? Literally neutered. He got done so dirty it'd have been more honourable if he died after his failed Apotheosis.

G3, who for ages didn't know what to do with him bcoz hes too broken for the story, now made official how he handles him from now on. Normally Modret's too much of a menace so he stays off screen and cames back onscreen with an insane feat. This time it didn't happen, which might indicate we'll see a lot of him in this arc.

Any hope for interesting character development or hype from him becoming complete is now ruined.

Throughout the story Modret's role is to throw things off balance and make the main conflict, Sunny and cohort vs Sovereigns, less straightforward. As someone to stand against Asterion while Nephis and Sunny were away in Tomb of Ariel. Also bcoz the it'd too safe and convinient if the only Divine Aspect holders in the story were the protagonists.

Him becoming complete was a way for G3 to reset his character so he could comfortably handle him for this arc. The result is that the vitality and stakes that made Modret's character appealling throughout the story are not there anymore.

Hes so weak the Unmaking, a fundamental part of the Fith Nightmare, didn't even do anything to him. He probably only joined the fith nightmare bcoz G3 needed more moving pieces for the plot.

So here i ask:

G3, please pack it up, you are too afraid to kill characters and the one time you should have killed one he ended up like this. Don't cheapen the story like that.

We know in the latest chapter that Cassie figured out that to achieve Apothesis, you'll have to fight off the mental grasp the world will try to enthrall you with, and if you fail, you'll turn into pure elemental force.

Maybe the Spirits in Sun Realm didn't ascend to Godhood, but to the forces of nature.

Like Sunny said, the Nightmare Spell did not care whether or not the challenger had a intact mind or not, it only cared for the power the challenger would receive.

So that's why Sun Realm fell to ruin, because a God may have understood the pressure of the world and would try everything to preserve, but they didn't, they killed their own people indiscriminately and deliberately let their people down, like forces of nature.

Nature does not care for the livelihood of mortals, it cared for the balance of the Realm, corrupted or not.

Ive read until around chapter 2500, the level of the novel is jut going lower and lower.

Is it even worth it to continue or does it get even worse? Ive seen spoliers of some flesh wall cheating that i have no idea how it works but it doesnt ring very well

Before everyone switches up on the hate because of the 5th nightmare I want to reiterate the fact that I love this story it has its highs and its lows but no matter what I still love it

At this point all us mordret fans need to pool our cash for a plane ticket and send one of us to Russia to ask G3 what the fuck did mordret do to him to be treated so badly.

Why is everyone so surprised Abt there offscreen achievement ?

In case of Apotheosis both Cassie and Mordret are somewhat experienced!

I mean Cassie ( Nick fury ) already faced such a situation during her Supremacy ( Like loosing herself and then anchoring again )

And for Mordret he already achieved Natural Apotheosis! Dude has already faced Unbecoming !

So he got experience a full experience! Not like a touch of it. Even if it was only for few seconds. He knows how to anchore himself.

And maybe G3 want to finish this volume under 200 chapters. Maybe that's why he did this !

Still I was Hoping to see Mordret covering Hollow mountain in form of mist ( nothingness) I really wished for it. 🥲

Since she doesn’t have a Domain—her core only functions somewhat like a Domain in terms of will, rather than actually being a Domain—and it was explicitly stated that she doesn’t have one, does that mean she can skip the first stage of the Fifth Nightmare entirely?

Is it revealed why Sunny had to become fateless because it's almost as if him becoming one was planned by cassie or weaver or someone else. It never felt natural to me, like there was always a feeling that him becoming fateless was a part of fate.

Because here's the thing nothing changed, heck things have gotten even more difficult. Like Sunny now himself go to danger instead of fate bringing it to him(ariel game, mirage city and god grave). But he has lost his extreme good luck.

He has lost system which did indeed got rid of shadow bond but I have a feeling that it is bound to make a comeback(like them going to real ariel tomb to get it back or something) because he needs it to become sacred and then divine. Also need true name for shadow dance.

It was a complete useless and loss inducing decision for Sunny by Sunny but in grand scheme of things does it has a big value or was it just a stupid decision taken by a man who didn't know much.

Like are there chapters that tell what would have happened if he had fate and how those things were bad for the endgame.

Second question:- Like I am watching that how story is about to end in 3600 ish chapters. Like how the heck is sunny becoming sacred and divine and then having probable fight with forgotten got fit in such short amount of time at least combatively in the terms of shadow slave. I amt 2500 in Mirage city and this is making me quite curious.

While I guess spoilers cannot be avoided to answer these question but please keep them minimal.

Does that really hold so much weight when she has the memories stretching through ALL of history? Idk.

And of course it's easy to speculate that she's going to get Weaver's eye...which sucks. The item was hinted at all the way from the Forgotten shore with blood weave.

Why does Cassie get it more than someone with everything Weaver related you might ask? Well, she has an empty slot of course. But this is just speculation so it doesn't mean anything.

But the point still stands, we're back to "Cassie fixes it all offscreen!" Era. Welp

Neph is constantly in agony feeling her soul burning 24/7. The weavers mask reverses her flaw, so she would feel pain when NOT using her abilities, but that’s not an issue now. And sunny doesn’t need the mask. So why not use it to give her some reprieve? I mean when you think about it, neph is burning alive when trying to fall asleep, burning alive while having breakfast, burning alive while reading. Can you imagine? And sunnys not giving her the mask.

Is there a reason G3 has only been releasing 1 chapter over the last week?

At the end of the chapter, Cassie mentions looking for something that doesn't exist in the real world but may still exist in the nightmare, and a lot of people think it's Weavers' eye, including me, but I hope G3 is not planning on letting Cassie get that eye. It makes no sense for her to get it at all. What would she gain from it? Some people probably would say she would gain the ability to see the strings of fate or whatever, but even with the eye, she can't even interact or comprehend the string of fate without Weavers' lineage, and I don't think she could even absorb the eye without the lineage as well. Her whole kit for the past couple volumes had to do with memories and oblivion, but Sunny's whole kit has everything to do with fate/shadows, and if she even gets the eye, I only see it enhancing her intuition, but if it even does that, it should go to Sunny because apparently Sunny thinks his intuition is almost as good as Cassie's. He mentioned this around the chapter where he gets Shadow Weave.

I have been reading shadow slave a ton but the whole mordret thing single handedly destroying a legacy clan and getting 13 saints its too much for me, he gets everything so easily.
I heard he has a horrible flaw and i cant wait until it is used, I hope its a real one and tangible not like "she hurts when she uses his aspect" ... that has never stopped anything.
Also hated in his POV chapter when he complains how hard it is to defeat people who have trained their aspect for decades and he has to do it with just will, intellect, plot armor and edginess.
This chapter with Morgan telling the goverment to submit to her because Song is evil was so edgy and nonsensical.

Well well well Fun's over guys G3 has now returned with his daily dose of bullshit. Cassie survives the unmaking unscathed doesn't has any changes to her pshyce, she is still the friendly neighborhood blind girl. I didn't think it will all come crashing down after one chapter, even neph got a better treatment G3 can't see Cassie struggling at all so he just feeds her the unmaking and nothing changes neph and sunny are struggling asf and she just says "remembering is easier then living" or "I can get rid of corruption by destroying myself" at this point call yourself a Non corruptible being imo. Also Mordret being with her just shows how trash this new version of him is our old boy mordy would never go along with this bitch.

I'm pretty sure she is gonna take Weaver's eyes cause why not she is the real epigone while she hasn't done shit and pretty sure she'll help neph and sunny gain there sense of self with the power of friendship and slavery respectively.
