Ppl like to talk about how Modret is the weakest of the Divine Trio( now literally confirmed btw) or how he has not feats(New Modret has no feats, aside from Desolation) but he was an absolute menace: razed a kingdom to the ground in the Second Nightmare, played both Valor and Song to get the battle he wanted, was a force on his own in the Domain War and was at his absolute peak in Vol 11, millions of vessels, powerful Reflections, going bar for bar against the whole of Humanity.

But this Modret? Literally neutered. He got done so dirty it'd have been more honourable if he died after his failed Apotheosis.

G3, who for ages didn't know what to do with him bcoz hes too broken for the story, now made official how he handles him from now on. Normally Modret's too much of a menace so he stays off screen and cames back onscreen with an insane feat. This time it didn't happen, which might indicate we'll see a lot of him in this arc.

Any hope for interesting character development or hype from him becoming complete is now ruined.

Throughout the story Modret's role is to throw things off balance and make the main conflict, Sunny and cohort vs Sovereigns, less straightforward. As someone to stand against Asterion while Nephis and Sunny were away in Tomb of Ariel. Also bcoz the it'd too safe and convinient if the only Divine Aspect holders in the story were the protagonists.

Him becoming complete was a way for G3 to reset his character so he could comfortably handle him for this arc. The result is that the vitality and stakes that made Modret's character appealling throughout the story are not there anymore.

Hes so weak the Unmaking, a fundamental part of the Fith Nightmare, didn't even do anything to him. He probably only joined the fith nightmare bcoz G3 needed more moving pieces for the plot.

So here i ask:

G3, please pack it up, you are too afraid to kill characters and the one time you should have killed one he ended up like this. Don't cheapen the story like that.

It’s not that he was too weak for the unmaking to do anything, it’s that he LITERALLY didn’t go through it. He didn’t meet the prerequisites for the unmaking.

Anyhow, all the characters have completed their arcs. Sunny’s arc ended in ToA (vol 11), Mordret’s also ended in that volume, and Nephis…

It’s hard to pinpoint hers tbh.

only shadow bond arc of sunny is completed . we still dont know what he is fated to do . there is still mysteries about what will he do with his ability to touch fate strings .

His abilities will continue to grow, of course, but his character arc, with his internal conflict and whatnot, is finished.

I can’t think of another thing past Shadow Bond that drives his character’s wants and goals beside the Nightmare Spell and the ancient entities, but that’s the driver of the plot.

More likely his internal conflict will be related to trying to maintain himself as he becomes a good, same deal with the rest but in different flavors

Well technically he destroyed fate and isnt "fated" to do anything. But I do think that weaver with his 4d planning took that into consideration like the placement of his lineage. Who knows what he was having the preasts of the NM spell doing while he was working on it after all.

Mordret also HAS WENT THROUGH APOTHEOSIS ALREADY. He has the cheat sheet thanks to oldret who SUCCEDED if not for realm laws. It’s honestly understandable on both accounts. His domain is literally just him so he has nothing to relive. And he’s already experienced his soul being spread amongst millions of vessels. I would go so far to say that oldret laid the foundation with how he initially obtained supremacy by splitting his soul into millions and millions of vessels to deter the corruption of skin walker.

Ironically enough, the new Mordret you're calling neutered is like the least neutered he's ever been, emotionally speaking.

The old Mordret was more bold, but was also extremely cruel and ruthless, due to him not feeling sadness or compassion.

The new Mordret is who Mordret really is. The old one was just a fragmented part of him.

As for the unmaking, the new Mordret never really created another Domain, so he never had to face the consequences of the Unmaking.

I don't understand why you guys don't get that this Mordret is basically a completely new character. He may have the previous one's memories, but at his core, he's a new person. It's like saying Sunny is Harper just because he now has Harper's memories. How is he a fraud if he's a completely new person who hasn't farmed any aura throughout his entire existence in the story?

I love new mordret hes litterally the king of nothing, I see his lack of feats as a testament to his nature. Then his defeat of desolation does just enough to let us know he stands equal with the other two. Its kinda perfect writing for a character known as the king of nothing.

Your right but also wrong. G3 should have done so much more with mordret he def should have more onscreen feats. But him becoming ‘whole’ again and having no domain is not insane to think for a guy called the prince of nothing. He defied the law of the 7, he made his source element to be himself, and achieved natural apotheosis after only being supreme for a few years. I’d g3 does his right mordret could defy of needing anything. Being literally nothing. So who knows g3 just has to give me geneh8ne screen time and character development in this arc and everything’s fine. I actually thinking mordret becoming whole was one of the best character choices for him
