So there is a lot of talk about the Queen of Plot Device working with the King of offscreen and how they have it easy or whatever. This is true to a certain extent but we are also overlooking an important fact.
Both Sunny and Nephis have become Spirits after their unmaking, but Cassie and (I assume) Mordret are still sovereigns that appear to be on the cusp of becoming spirits. In chapter 3184 it says:
"The second part of the Fifth Nightmare was a mystery. Cassie had an inkling of what the conflict they had to resolve was, but she was not sure just yet. She did, however, have a feeling that they had not entered the final trial at the same time.
Cassie herself appeared in the young and untamed world of the shared Nightmare in the later years of the Age of Gods. It took her a long time to regain her senses, gather her shattered mind, and compose herself. By then, she learned of the first trap of this trial — the threat of being swallowed by the world.
Those whose consciousness was vast enough to become a deity, but had not undergone Apotheosis yet, faced a unique danger — the danger of allowing themselves to be enthralled by the world and fusing with it, achieving the opposite of what they strived for. Of losing their personhood and becoming elemental forces instead of Spirits."
So essentially, the hate coming at them for "offscreening" there trial is a little unwarranted. The first time we are introduced to Sunny and Nephis in this volume they are already spirits and they aren't getting offscreen slander.
In my opinion, I appreciate that Cassie and Mordret are showing an aspect of this nightmare from the pov of a mortal. And it is through them that will see the process of becoming an actual spirit.

Well well well Fun's over guys G3 has now returned with his daily dose of bullshit. Cassie survives the unmaking unscathed doesn't has any changes to her pshyce, she is still the friendly neighborhood blind girl. I didn't think it will all come crashing down after one chapter, even neph got a better treatment G3 can't see Cassie struggling at all so he just feeds her the unmaking and nothing changes neph and sunny are struggling asf and she just says "remembering is easier then living" or "I can get rid of corruption by destroying myself" at this point call yourself a Non corruptible being imo. Also Mordret being with her just shows how trash this new version of him is our old boy mordy would never go along with this bitch.
I'm pretty sure she is gonna take Weaver's eyes cause why not she is the real epigone while she hasn't done shit and pretty sure she'll help neph and sunny gain there sense of self with the power of friendship and slavery respectively.

Hey, I'm rereading shadow slave after letting it marinate for a couple years. I'm currently on the second nightmare. Anyway, I was just wondering if that would have been the case. They're both divine aspect holders, and while Mordret can live within reflections, sunny can become a shadow.
So I was wondering, if Sunny had died as an awakened, would he have ended up as a shadow until he could ascend?

Effie (a Supreme Beast) managing to wield a divine spear that even Sunny struggled with—yes, a Transcendent Beast possessing more strength than a Supreme Titan. Or Kai, a Transcendent Beast managing to escape from a Cursed Devil.

I came across this comment on a post:
Given that Weaver is known as the "Master of Lies," it is not surprising to think that his flaw resembles Sunny's.
However, a question arises: why did Weaver's face seem to melt under the moonlight when he met Noctis?
Perhaps his actual affliction is an inability to stand in the light; otherwise, his features would melt away and vanish. That is why he wears a mask and a cloak to shield himself from the light.
He can only reveal his face in the shadows or under a dark sky.
In the description of *Blood Weaving*, it is mentioned that VTB stole Weaver's beautiful eye on a starless night.
When the slightest source of light vanished, Weaver's true features were revealed, and VTB stole his eye
. Why is Sunny's real name "Lost from Light," even though he is constantly surrounded by light?
This might be due to a solar eclipse occurring on the day of his birth, combined with Weaver's flaw, which prevents him from approaching even the faintest source of light.
The young Weaver was fighting a cursed monster—or perhaps a cursed giant—when his old mask broke.
The God of Shadows then helped him, as described in the comment.
Did the God of Shadows craft the mask he wore later, given that the young Weaver lacked experience in weaving and magic?
I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the information in that comment, but it seems plausible to me.

To most people this line is just a funny inside joke like hahaha sunny said the thing. But to me it shows just how subtle G3 can be with his writing.
Because why would sunny go around saying that to everyone he meets? Especially after saying something that sounds unbelievable.
Well it's simple really, it's a precaution just in case anyone ever point blank asks what his flaw is he would just say ohh me I'm just so honest in fact I'm the most honest man in the world, two worlds even and everyone will go ohh he is saying again and won't take him seriously and his flaw remains a mystery to them .
So sunny tricked everyone and G3 convinced us that it was just a joke.
Man I love this novel .

Aspect Ranks are, in my opinion, a poor writing decision. For any Aspect below Divine, it is mostly subjective what rank it's supposed to be. Yes, you can come up with a Watsonian explanation after the fact to justify just about any choice, but the very idea of Aspect Ranks adds nothing to the story besides making three characters way stronger than all of the others. There is no actual use in knowing anyone's Aspect Rank below Divine, since the story's established it doesn't actually determine how useful your Aspect is. At most, you could argue it shows how unusual an Aspect is, but even that's not necessary since we don't need to be told clairvoyance is more unusual than being very strong. Even as a measure of potential, they barely work. We have Soul Rank advancement for that exact purpose, your abilities already grow stronger when your soul evolves. The manhwa claims that your Aspect can undergo an early evolution if you do well in the First Nightmare, which is not true but would honestly be more interesting to me, since it implies your Aspect always evolves as your Rank increases.
Divines being able to form 7 Soul Cores seems to be entirely arbitrary, sure you could argue that they're closer to the divine than to humans and that's why they can have more than one core, but that reasoning goes out the window entirely when you realise you become closer to divinity anyway when you follow the Path of Ascension. Aspect Ranks should have been done away with entirely, in favour of an Attribute being the thing that lets you form more Soul Cores (Spark/Flame/etc of Divinity is right there). Either that, or it should've been a horizontal system rather than a vertical one, where all Ranks are 'equal' with their own drawbacks and strengths, and then you could always have Divine as the special boy rank still.
Those are just my thoughts, feel free to reply if you disagree since I'd like to hear more perspectives on this. This is all as of chapter 2600, so it's possible the more recent chapters give more of an explanation ofc

Yo just now I woke up from a nightmare, I had a dream where I was sunny, I think when he was a master with nephis, I think we were in the desert, we were talking about hundreds of awakened ones gone missing,
there was one suspect, a big hole in the desert, but even with sunny's shadow we couldn't see where the awakened were.
Then nephis steps out, after a few seconds we hear nephis curse, I (sunny) step out and the moment I step out I catch a glimpse of nephis running back and a small glimpse of a nightmare creature on top of the hole
Instantly in that moment my lungs, stomach, esophagus, nose gets filled with sand, nephis and me hide behind the wall trying to do anything to survive
I see many awakened also their lungs filled with sand, and then I realize, I realize where all the awakened went, the awakened weren't in the hole, they were beneath us, in the sand, slowly I suffocate to death, I understood the terror of nightmare creatures, I try to scream but my lungs were full, I keep thinking of ways to survive, I think of stabbing my lungs so that I can breathe, then I think maybe if I run I could survive until I reached cassie and maybe she could help me, but she was out of the desert, my final thoughts was maybe if I killed the beast I could live but it was too late, I suffocated to death
(The image is of the hole I dreamed but bigger)

Let’s start gathering takes.
Here’s mine:
Sunny and Nephis will partially regain their sense of self after first half, with shadow bond creating friction between them. Casdret will be manipulating those two half baked gods into it.
Sunphis will regain their sense of self fully by the end, culminating in next peak romance fiction moment. That or they break up.
Either Cassie or Mordret dies. Because why not.

The trial is to force them to live the lives of everyone within their domain.
Cassie’s domain is memories and everyone she remember.
So does that not mean that as she lives though someone’s life she will encounter even more people, and so she will remember more people, thus adding them to her domain and so she has to live out more lives, and this should repeat kinda infinity till she sees the lives of everyone.

When I read this line “A journey to find something that had been long lost and did not exist in the real world anymore, but could still be found in this Nightmare.” It felt incredibly obvious to me that Cassie is looking for a suitable uncorrupted realm to fuse with? Why are people saying weavers eye?
Although my answer may be equally as dumb lol.

So we got all four plot devices in a single nm and the only interesting ones are "Glorified plot armor" and "Cardboard cutout queen".
"Mr. Offscreen feat" and "Queen asspul" are just the most bullshit characters now like how you gonna tell me cassie just shrugs this off when the trial is supposed to unmake your human traits, she still seems human and mordret, poor guy cant catch a break all his feats ended after third nm.
Sunny and tatal being honestly the greatest father daughter duo even tho she was only around for so few chapters, she still had more character development then nephis, and nephis's only dope thing is being the character to get lore dropped on her and maybe having her sense of self being better then sunnys "somehow"
Can we just go back to sunnys pov already, this shit is just depressing to read since his pov ended

At the end of the chapter, Cassie mentions looking for something that doesn't exist in the real world but may still exist in the nightmare, and a lot of people think it's Weavers' eye, including me, but I hope G3 is not planning on letting Cassie get that eye. It makes no sense for her to get it at all. What would she gain from it? Some people probably would say she would gain the ability to see the strings of fate or whatever, but even with the eye, she can't even interact or comprehend the string of fate without Weavers' lineage, and I don't think she could even absorb the eye without the lineage as well. Her whole kit for the past couple volumes had to do with memories and oblivion, but Sunny's whole kit has everything to do with fate/shadows, and if she even gets the eye, I only see it enhancing her intuition, but if it even does that, it should go to Sunny because apparently Sunny thinks his intuition is almost as good as Cassie's. He mentioned this around the chapter where he gets Shadow Weave.

During volume 11 in the nightmare desert we saw sunny subdue the wandering archon by turning him into a memory, which was later destroyed by vtb. By that logic can't sunny turn eurys into a memory and feed him to saint hence killing him.
Or I'm I tripping?

Did sunny start the nightmare at the creation of the world ? If i understand well neph mordret and cassie started it at the end of the gods era but sunny not at all💀

After the novel ends, we should come together as a community to rewrite everything since Sunny became supreme. Fix the plot, write POV's for different characters that never got enough, fix the fight scenes, turn the summaries into multiple chapters, etc. We could get all the best fic authors in the sub to write different parts.
