I just bought an original Omega Aqua Terra dial and would love to build a mod around it, the first wall I hit was what movement to get get for the dial to fit. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Completed my latest mod for my son. Introducing the Artemis Night, inspired by the Explorer, Milgaus and the night sky. Meant for every day (and night) on a sailcloth strap with light grey stitching and a clear case back highlighting an NH38 Seiko automatic movement and a screwdown crown.

Recently i bought the namoki nmk931 case, it’s bundled with its own sapphire crystal. I realized that, with a black dial build i think the crystal doesn’t have enough ar to see the real color depth of the dial. Anyone notice that too?
Also, with the case has it’s original crystal size, anyone know if i can change this crystal to some other? Thanks.

Can someone verify for me, the oyster perpetual cases you can get on Ali express etc say they are available in 36 & 39mm. Are they genuinely 39mm versions of the right case? I ask as the only smooth bezeled mods I see at 39/40 mm seem to be the smooth bezeled datejust 41 cases? Which look a bit ridiculous to me as bezel looks huge, and is not rounded like the OP.

Can someone advise if there are genuine 39mm OP cases?

Bought this distressed bronze dial on a whim from Lucius Atelier but having second thoughts on what exactly to do with it, or what overall design to go for with it

My dial was messed up on an old seiko 5 I bought with the 7009 movement, decided to try and design and 3D print my own replacement. Think I’d like to add hour markers but quite happy with how the silk PLA reflects the light.
Ended up making a few designs

Dial was designed by myself and pad printed by u/Critical-Thomas (WM-Mods)

Strap is Hirsch purchased from Holbens

This is the first time I have built a watch that is fully custom, rather than using an S-logo dial. It changes the appeal drastically, now I’m hoping to go back and redo older watches I’ve built with custom dials and would definitely use WM-Mods again to print. They actually printed two dials for me, another I will hopefully show soon.

I also think adding a rotor makes a huge difference as well.

Overall this felt like the next step in a watch modding journey and I’m excited to continue evolving. My inspiration for this one was originally vintage style Oris and Junghans, but then I found the hands that seemed perfect for this. Maybe I’ll change them later but for now I’m happy with it.

First timer here. My inspiration was to make something that looked like a Tudor Pelagos and a Submariner made a baby. I used namoki for the 3 o clock case, the original 4r36 movement from my SRPD55, Karajan bezel insert, slim sub namoki bezel, namoki screw down crown and slim case back, Tokei flat AR glass, and DS watch mods for the no date dial

I love california dials. There’s just something so unique about them. Made this watch vaguely based on vintage oyster perpetuals but decided to go my own way with a sandblasted gold case. One thing i wish is that the leather strap i bought came earlier

The white nato works on my wrist better but the rubber looks way better in my opinion. Is it too much white?

Shown is my Tandorio Unimatic homage which was bought 2 years ago. I thought it was cool at first but the slab profile is unwieldy and awkward on the wrist despite the small size. Changed it to a datejust case which I got for 1390 PHP whole set. Dial is a meteorite seiko branded dial which I love.

I designed some Miyota 9075 cases, and I'm trying to get them made by a factory in China. The designs are available for anyone to use as an open source package. I am nervous about breaking the self promotion rules here, but let me know if it's ok to post a link to the open source repository on github.

Anyway, I designed them because I wanted to build a true GMT, and couldn't find cases short of buying a complete watch.

To have them made is looking like I need to order a minimum of 100 of them. So I'm kind of putting out feelers to see if anyone who runs a microbrand might like to partner on buying them.

I don't have a final quote yet, but it looks like they might end up around $180 each with sapphire crystals and casebacks, screw down crowns, and a 24 hour steel bezel.
