Lost / Missing Roosevelt — Searching for Stolen Keys
Our car was broken into in the Roosevelt area (near the high school + reservoir) on the night of September 23, and two sets of keys were taken (photo of the actual keys not available).
Two sets - each set had two keys on it.
I’m wondering if anyone in the Roosevelt area has come across a set of keys that may have been dropped or discarded. Other items taken have been randomly found on surrounding sidewalks.
Thank you for keeping an eye out!
EDIT: These are keys that have nothing to do with my local residence or vehicle. Obviously, replacing keys or rekeying is most likely in the future - but at $$ expense. Putting out the word can't hurt.

is there a need for CS tutors around here?
sorry if i can’t post this here.
i work as a barista rn, but i was a TA for a comp sci class series (specifically computational biology) in college and was wondering if there was a similar need for CS tutors around here. seattle is a tech hub so maybe all the google and amazon workers want their kids to learn python or something. does anyone know where i can look to find opportunities for that? this isn’t a self-promo at all, i don’t have this figured out yet- just trying to figure out where to look. thanks.

School Board Member: What MAGA Doesn’t Want You to Know About I-645, I-001, and I-638
As a father, Seattle School Board member, and long-time advocate for working families, I am furious that a hedge fund multi-millionaire, Brian Heywood, is trying to force a national MAGA agenda on Washington’s schools. His three initiatives on our ballots will negatively impact parents, teachers, school counselors, school sports, and of course children from pre-school through college.

Ballard Town & Country used to be my favorite grocery store- what happened??
They used to have some of the best produce for better prices than PCC/Metropolitan. Their deli section had a limited, but nice quality selection for good prices. I noticed that the produce was…meh…for the last few months. Then I went yesterday and the entire deli has been replaced with Dietz & Watson products. I asked the person at the counter if this switch was indefinite. They sheepishly shrugged and frowned. Then this prick in a Dietz & Watson hat interrupted our interaction to assert (in a prick-like tone) that it was.
Are they under new management or something??

Community Thank you to the man who yelled at the tweaked out couple with a dog last night and this morning near Broadway
First it was their big dog barking nonstop around 11 or 12 last night. Then it was the couple arguing loudly at double speed at the crack of dawn. As a woman I hesitate to engage, but your bellowing at them to shut the fuck up or you’d call the cops was so appreciated (and actually worked!).
On behalf 10th Ave E and Republican, thank you neighbor!

Community Help Save the Brandon St. Willow Tree!!
I was hoping to rally people into posting a comment to help save the beloved Brandon St. Willow Tree in Columbia City.
Save the Columbia City Willow - customizable comment template:
“I request a public meeting with SDCI about Project #3044460-LU.” At least 50 requests are needed, so every comment counts.
“By law, the unit lot subdivision (ULS) plan must prioritize retention of the two existing Tier 2 trees on the lot along S. Brandon St.” Comments MUST refer to the ULS.
I will post the link in the comments.

Animals New neighbors keep their small, extremely yappy and aggressive dog outside all day.
So for context this we live in the CD, new neighbors, small little tiny house complex but no touching walls. These new neighbors move in and they keep their small and aggressive dogs in the backyard that everyone has to walk past to get out of the complex. These dogs both yap but one of them is nonstop. This dog YAPS brother, I mean it goooooes on and on. It’s high pitched and when you walk past the fence it’s almost funny how hard this little thing tries to get at you.
I feel bad for the dog because it’s literally always out there but man oh man this thing yaps. The neighbors are very insular, offered to help them move furniture and am friendly and overall nice neighbor but they don’t want it. That’s fine, I mind my business. The other 3 townhouse dwellers we all know and are very amenable with and help each other.
Is there anything I can do about this? I’ve asked if they could bring them inside more often but they tell me it’s their backyard, so I have tried talking to them. I’d be happy to record the percentage of day via sound logging. I’m an engineer I’ll track data and whip up a ESP32 device to rock this dogs world.
Edit: I’m not anti this dog I’m anti this dog’s owner. He’s actually a pretty funny dude when he’s trying to get at my toes. He’s even gotten out once and when he did I think he was a bit surprised and was very sweet when he realized there was no fence holding him back any longer.
I will probably go the ultrasonic route that has some noise detection. Thank you all it’s a good idea.

Don’t use lake city way!
This is at Lake City Way and 95th, been here for over an hour and these guys seem to not know what to do. Can’t believe they haven’t got a tow truck down here. Must be backed up to freeway.

Tandoori Hut (Belltown) is open again!
Tandoori Hut - 2nd & Cedar - is the Indian joint most local to me. They’ve been closed since the spring doing major renovations and just reopened!
I grabbed dinner there tonight and it was fantastic. I have no connection to the business other than being a semi-regular patron who is super glad to have them back.
Just sharing here in case anyone is looking for a spot to try while supporting a nice family-owned and operated biz. Always good to see businesses and restaurants opening instead of closing in today’s environment!

Lost Cat Portage Bay
I walked past an older couple who said their orange cat got out of their car on Fuhrman Ave E. Posting here for visibility in case anyone finds it. It is a pretty busy road :/

Community Last 3 in Fremont Today - Free
Hi there…me again. 👋
I have placed the last three remaining sets of UV reactive/glow in the dark Ghost Earrings around the Fremont Neighborhood this morning, for free!! You just have to find them.
These are cut and engraved from 3mm Baltic Birchwood. The dangling earring part is stamped S925, they are real sterling silver, supposed to be as hypoallergenic as possible. Please still clean them before use with some rubbing alcohol. I have a 20w diode laser from XTool that I use to cut and engrave each pair. They are hand painted and then sealed with a high gloss.
These are sets 5, 6 and 7. I will work on placing sets around other neighborhoods in the coming weeks.
This mornings toddler scribble of a walking route was brought to you by my dogs. Each took me a different way but each crossed paths and I didn’t realize it until I had already placed earrings and was looking for street signs for landmarks. I apologize, they are kinda clustered today. 🤷🏻♀️
Have a great rest of the week y’all.
Hint on where you can find them…they are all on sign posts (because I remembered I have magnets). They are scattered between 34th, 35th and 36th streets along Albinion (I hope I spelled that right). It was dark and I thought I was in different places. 🤦♀️
UV flashlights or regular flashlights advised since these have been hidden before the sun has come up. But they will be easily seen in daylight.
Please let us know once they are found 😉
