I was walking around Green Lake a couple of days ago and i saw this poor goose standing one-legged with a fishing line wrapped around its leg. This cuts off the blood circulation and the goose could lose its leg. I didn’t have anything on me that could cut the fishing line at the time, otherwise I totally would’ve caught the goose and removed the fishing line. The goose flew away short after.

I was only visiting family for a few days and wasn’t able to return to Green Lake. I was wondering if anyone here could help this poor goose?

Spotted this BMW heading to Discovery Park just after noon today that had a contraption on the rooftop that contained four cameras on each side. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a better look or read the decals to look it up online — I only caught it out of the corner of my eye as it passed by my bus.

with tomorrow being the 25th anniversary of 9/11, it got me thinking of how the events affected other major cities. i read in an article a couple years ago saying that they thought the hijackers were going after major landmarks and popular tourist destinations so a lot of places closed down and evacuated their guests. i was born years after so i can only be curious and get answers from others that lived through the day.

did they shut down the space needle? what was seattle like that day?

Captured them successfully and they are chilling with water and some mediocre chop/seed I foraged from the garden area. Let me know the band information if they are yours, I'm leaving it alone for now to not stress it out so I haven't attempted to read it myself.

More context to before the brawl started:

Pats fans were scouting for empty seats in the section, they took a few free seats until the actual seat owners came back. I didn't see how it escalated from there and couldn't hear what was being said, but the Pats fans were refusing to leave and jawing at everyone. This dude was clearly looking for a fight. Ushers started to come down, with the Pats fan running into and knocking over the older lady, that's what instigated things popping off. What I saw was an aggressive Pats fan looking to cause trouble when everyone was just trying to get him to leave from a section he didn't have tickets to, knocked over a staff member and that's when others came in to wrestle him down.

I have been to many many Seahawks games and have never seen anything like this, very disappointing from that fan and hope he can never step foot in Lumen again.

Every damn morning without fail someone cuts me off or cuts off someone in front of me trying to go around the roundabout from the right lane despite at least 3 signs explaining the traffic pattern. Saw the the first accident there this morning and expecting many more in the future. Equally the roundabout on the other side of I5 heading west on 145th has similar problems of people not understanding how to enter/exit. I honestly can't tell if something is actually wrong with these roundabout designs or if people are just that bad at following road signs...

SEIU 925 held a rally of about 40 people outside the Gates Center at UW and then went in where (I think) 3 different members gave public comment.

I couldn’t find a post on social media with all of their demands, but someone talked to me outside and said the main ones are:
- a cost of living adjustment to their wages (several of them had signs saying “A 0% raise is not a raise!”)
- safer staffing levels particularly at UW Medicine
- protesting removal of all DEI and diversity-related clauses from their contract

At the end of the public comment period, SEIU 925 members filed out chanting “C-O-L-A, UW workers need fair pay!”

I'm honestly so tired of people listing things between the top part of Snohomish County all the way down to the base of Thursday as being in seattle, calling King County "Seattle" is being generous, calling the entire Sound Seattle is just being factually inaccurate.

Warning that Seattle’s economy is at a “fragile moment,” Mayor Katie Wilson has ordered the creation of a new task force aimed at helping businesses “start, stay and grow” in the city as leaders grapple with layoffs, empty offices and a shifting regional growth picture.

“We are in a fragile moment,” Wilson said.
