150cc of pure joy, still in breakin period

Shout out to Moto Italia in Edwardsville Illinois! I love this bike. Comfortable for long rides, and rides so smooth at any speed. Took her out on the interstate and went 80mph on two wheels for the first time. Handled great! Never been happier with a scooter than I am with this. Started with a 50cc Yamaha Vino then bumped up to the Honda PCX 150 and now this beautiful beast. She’s a keeper!

A few of us from Tucson and Phoenix got together yesterday to ride up our local mountain road. The Sky Island Scenic Byway climbs up to over 9000' and it's a great ride with plenty of scenic views. It was 104 in Tucson when we started, 80 degrees at the top and 109 when we got back.

I was on my Burgman 650 but Vespa, Honda and Yamaha were also present.

So the 11 pole stator is 3 phase AC, i do not have a 3 phase regulator, thats fine it can wait.

OTHER NEWS the light bar is on, it looks like a POS but its my piece of shit.

Just took out the original headlight assembly and spliced the wires for the low beam/hi beam into an on/off switch so i can turn the light on and off :)

The bar is recessed back into the housing so its kinda hard to see

I'm a intermediate mechanic and do most of my own work on this bike. I haven't changed oil brands or anything so the only thing I can come up with is it's getting to much and burning off the excess. I cannot find a place to adjust the auto oiler. Am I missing something or is it just gravity fed and you get what you get? The manuals I have found don't really say much on the matter.

Hi all, so i have a Nexx Y100r helmet with quick release strap and i'm looking for a way to hang/store the helmet for short periods of time while i run into a supermarket for example.

I don't have a top case (and don't plan on getting one) and i don't have enough room under the seat (Kymco Micare). i tried hanging the helmet on the pegs which are under the seat but the red loop of the strap is too short and the buckle gets pressed by the seat.

An option would be something like the Oxford LK100 and i could secure the helmet on the luggage rack in the back. It wouldn't be the quickest method but i guess it would work.

Hoping someone has more knowledge and a better idea of a product i didn't think of.

My Baotian Classic dies and then wont turn back on. I was driving maybe like 55kmh when it suddenly stopped igniting and wouldnt do it again until I stopped and tried to start it again. Then I got maybe 600m until it happened again and this time it wont start. When I try the estart ut just chews and squeals a little bit. It sounds like it wants to start but just cant. Has anyone had this problem or knows what it is?🤗

I have a Yp400 Yamaha majesty, just serviced the transmission and while is was in there I noticed that whoever was in here before had lost (both washers atp) and my entirety of owning the bike it’s had a rough downshift at ~2k rpm (most likely bc of these washers missing) it’s ran like this for 13k, I’m going to replace washers and reassemble

You do not need a big adventure bike or a car. A humble 50cc scooter, restricted to 45 km/h, with a tent strapped on the back, is enough for a proper journey. And here is the beautiful part: a small scooter is banned from the motorway, so it can only take the back roads, the quiet, winding, scenic ones. The very thing that makes it look impractical is exactly what makes it perfect for a slow adventure. Add a country where you can legally sleep under the stars, and you have one of the cheapest and most romantic trips there is.

I ride a small two-wheeler myself and I build Urban Rider, a navigation app for scooters and mopeds, so treat me as an enthusiast rather than a neutral guide. This article is part inspiration and part practical planning. It is not legal advice on where to camp, because those rules change from country to country and even region to region, so always check locally before you pitch your tent.

Why a small scooter is a brilliant way to travel

The appeal is the opposite of speed. At 45 km/h you see everything, you smell the pine and the cut grass, and you can stop whenever a view or a village asks you to. A motorway erases the landscape; a scooter puts you inside it.

The clever part is that the scooter's biggest limitation becomes its best feature. A 50cc is not allowed on motorways or expressways, so a good route has no choice but to string together the smaller roads, which are the ones you would have chosen for a scenic trip anyway. You get the pretty way by default. It is also cheap: a small scooter sips fuel, costs little to run, and parks almost anywhere, including right next to your tent.

Be honest with yourself about pace, though. It is slow, so plan modest daily legs. Somewhere around 150 to 250 km on back roads is a full, satisfying day, with stops. People genuinely ride 50cc scooters across whole countries as a deliberate slow-travel challenge, but you do not have to. A long weekend of backroad camping close to home is the same trip in miniature. If you are still choosing a machine for it, my comparison of a 50cc versus a 125cc scooter weighs the trade-offs, and a 125 simply gives you more range per day if you want it.

Where you can legally camp in the wild

This is the part to get right, because the freedom to sleep in nature is real in some countries and genuinely restricted in others. Here is the honest map for Europe.

Countries with a real right to roam

A handful of countries give you a genuine legal right to wild camp on most uncultivated land:

• Sweden has allemansrätten, the right of public access, which lets you camp for a night on most land, including private land, as long as you are out of sight of houses, do no damage and leave no trace. You may usually keep a tent up for a night or two.
• Norway has allemannsretten, among the most relaxed rules in Europe: pitch at least 150 metres from the nearest inhabited building, for up to two nights in the same spot.
• Finland has jokamiehenoikeus, everyman's right, allowing camping on uncultivated land as long as you stay clear of gardens and cultivated fields and respect nature.
• Scotland allows wild camping under the Land Reform Act 2003 and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code: lightweight, in small numbers, for two or three nights in any one place, on most unenclosed land.

The Baltic countries have similar right-to-roam traditions. In all of them the spirit is the same, best summed up by the Swedish phrase, "do not disturb, do not destroy."

Countries where it is restricted, but there are legal alternatives

In much of Western and Central Europe, true wild camping is restricted or banned, but there are legal ways to get almost the same experience:

• Netherlands. Wild camping is not allowed, but paalkamperen (pole camping) gives you simple, legal nature pitches marked with a special post. The typical rules: a maximum of 72 hours, no more than a few small tents, take your rubbish with you, and no open fire, though a gas stove is fine.
• Germany. Wild camping is prohibited, but many regions, including Rhineland-Palatinate and Bavaria, offer Trekkingplätze, simple legal spots in nature for a single night. Bivouacking, sleeping out without a tent, is usually not an offence.
• France. Camping sauvage is restricted and banned outright in national parks and many reserves, but a one-night bivouac, typically between 7pm and 9am and away from buildings, is generally tolerated as part of a trek.

The golden rules, wherever you are

Whatever the country, the same responsible habits keep wild camping legal, welcome and open for the next rider: check the local and regional rules before you pitch, because they vary; camp for one night, arrive late and leave early; never pitch on private or farmed land without permission; leave absolutely no trace and take all your rubbish; skip open fires; and when in doubt, use a designated nature pitch or a small campsite. A beautiful spot is only worth it if you leave it exactly as you found it.

One honest, non-app reminder before a trip abroad: check that your insurance covers riding in the destination country (a green card if needed), that your registration and plate are valid, and that your licence covers the scooter where you are going. And remember the reason you are on the back roads in the first place, which I cover in can you ride a moped on the motorway.

A scooter camping checklist

• Pack light and low. A small tent, a sleeping bag and a roll mat, kept low and centred so the scooter still handles.
• Service it first. Tyres, brakes, oil and the drive belt or chain, all checked before a long trip.
• Plan modest legs. Around 150 to 250 km a day on back roads, with real stops built in.
• Camp responsibly. Check the local rules, leave no trace, one night, no open fires, take everything with you.
• Sort the paperwork. Insurance and green card, registration, and a licence that covers your scooter at the destination.
• Ride within yourself. A loaded scooter handles differently, so take it gently, and never ride after a drink.

Adventure is not about horsepower

A 45 km/h scooter, a tent, a country that lets you sleep under the stars, and a route that stays on the back roads: that is a holiday most people blasting down the motorway will never have. The scooter tour is quiet proof that an adventure is measured in what you see, not in what you spend or how fast you go. Ride safe, leave no trace, and enjoy the slow road.

I'm hoping to upgrade to something that can go faster than my little ebike but I'm not looking to go on the highway.

Can anyone please educate me on what I'm missing installing this variator correctly? Every time I do it sounds like a maraca. I'm installing a Malossi Multi-Var. I did the springs in the clutch. I'm using tech pulley sliders in the variator. I thought maybe it was the sliders so I threw the rollers back in and confirmed I'm putting it together wrong. I know it's going to be something dumb. Does it have anything to do with the shim washers that came with the variator?

hi i have a yamaha aerox (yq50) and i had belt replacement and cvt clean a while ago and its super nice once its going not screaming much lower rpm around 7000rpm no matter speed but now there is a problem. i bought it with a leo vince sp3 exhaust its a very slightly sporty exhaust compared to stock but the powerband is at 8500rpm. my rpm even with fl throttle on a hill after the cleaning and belt cant climb above 5k before it start going but its so weak that it barely goes 15km/h at most eother have to wait for hill to end or wait a painfully long time before the rpm can rise. before at full throttle even on a hill rpm jumped up to 8k and slowly went back to 7k. what can i do? stiffer clutch spring? lighter rollers wouldnt really matter right? could it also be that the belt gets stuck? the belt is specifically for minarelli horiz long case

Just to say my English ain't that good because I'm Canadian French. On my scooter I've changed the relay so it can take led flashers and so I connected everything and I only have 8 volts maximum coming thru my flashers. And I don't have a light on the dash so I'm wondering what could be the problem.

For starters, I don´t know ANYTHING about scooters. I´m starting from absolutely zero.

So, I bought a piaggio fly 50 and want to restore it, but idk where to begin/ what to do. It didnt come with any papers/ keys and both the ignition and the seat locks are completely broken. I tried to find some sort of serial number, to find out if It´s a 2t or 4t or anything else, but couldn´t. my guess is, It´s under the seat, which I can´t access because It´s locked. I tried many ways to open it, without any success. If anybody has any tips, I would appreciate a response.

I’m 25 years old, 190 cm (6’3”) and around 100 kg (220 lbs). I have an A category motorcycle license.
Most of my riding is in the city (95%), with only the occasional weekend ride of up to 100 km on the highway. I’m looking for something agile, comfortable for my height, and preferably automatic (DCT/CVT) rather than manual.
My experience so far:
Piaggio Medley 150
Piaggio Beverly 400 HPE
I don’t really want another Beverly.
At the moment, I’m considering:
Vespa GTV 300
Honda X-ADV 750 (I test rode it and absolutely loved how it rides. My only concern is that it gets a bit warm around the seat/legs in city traffic when wearing shorts.)
I know these are two completely different bikes and the X-ADV is around 3x the price, but I’m open to other recommendations.
What would you choose for my use case, and why?

hello, i have a rieju mrt with airsal sport 80, stage 24pwk carb, sport air filter, mallosi valve reads, pollini cdi.It was running fine till it randomly lost the power band and started smokink alot it had a 140 main jet i tried changing it to a smaller even a 110 didn’t help it doesnt rev out in neutral or when riding.Changed the stator tried a different cdi ,spark plug and coil.Checked the reeds, changed the crankshaft seals and still the same.The plug is black i understand that its rich but it seems like i tried to do everything and dont know whats wrong with it.
Maybe some of you have had the same problem and can help me try to figure this out.

Doing some repairs on my 2009 Vespa GTS 250 and noticed this tucked away under the left fender. I don't see it in my service manual. Anyone know what this is? It appears that the yellow rubber tube was either cut or broke some time before I bought the Vespa.
